@@johnbastion747 I guess they use whatever they can aquire. They should still be able to get gear no one else gets, they are still custodes after all. Just not the usual custodes stuff.

Like the players are an Inquisitorial acolyte group, and they receive a distress call from an ULTRA Level Informant, and they find evidence of I dunno, a Genestealer cult on a world along the primary shipping lanes between Terra and Castelax Prime. And the Custodian gives quests and the like, and maybe comes out to dance with the Patriarch or needs help calling in a Custodian Squad, Avengers style to deal with an attempted invasion.
That's a cool line that doesn't apply to custodes, they usually don't die. I bet the oldest eyes of the emperor out there walked on terra back in the unification wars.

Everytime an opponent claims that they killed a Custodes, I simply refused to take the unit off the board, quoting the wise David Trujillo. Even judges give me right. No chance against those all-mighty custodes. They simply do not die.
i'd imagine "Old" Custodies and Space Marines look a bit like a veteran 50 year old batman or Guts from berserk where they are covered head to toe in like 98% scar tissue.
I'd love to see someone convert a Stormcast Eternal Annihilator into a Custode. The Annihilators are currently the correct scale when compared to Primaris Marines, as they stand about a head taller than a Primaris - which is how you'd expect a Custode to be.
I'd like to see some Adepta Sororitas conversions, customizing them to various orders, like customizing space marines to fit certain chapters. I found myself struggling with this, somehow Battlesisters are much harder to customize than space marines, and I would love to see your take. Right now I'm working on some viking style battle sisters, inspired by kabewsiki, but I'd be interested in other themes, too.
I gotta admit, it's inspiring seeing you do your kitbashes. From stuff as big and complex as the Rotting Leviathan to detail focused stuff like this. The hood blends into the cloak perfectly and, at least from looking, I wouldn't have been able to tell it had been molded on. Also, your ability to get into the details with your paintbrush and keep your hand steady is just amazing.
The conversion is awesome! I think that you could probably substitute the head with one of the Grey hunter or Wolfguard heads if you wanted to save time vs sculpting the green stuff.
The only problem with the Eye's of the Emperor being covert operatives is that Custodes are around 9 feet tall (just shy of 3 meters). I'm not sure how they'd be able to blend in when they'd be almost double the size of most normal humans and also built like a brick shithouse.
yeah it's the same kind of idea of how the hell did the Emperor evade detection during the literal 20'000 years before the story of warhammer even happend when the Emperor was described as being 14ft tall.
Look at how big House Goliath members get, I think unusually proportioned (by todays standards) humans are common enough within the 40k universe to raise too much suspicion. Besides, no one seems to notice those Genestealer Cults until it's too late 😂

I haven't seen the 14 feet thing mentioned, but there are some less reputable authors who just said "to hell with sensible lore" and made up whatever nonsense came to mind. C.S.Goto is a good example of such authors. I prefer the idea that the Emperor is actually about 5'6" tall at most and can project himself to look bigger if needed.
I'd love to see your take on Tyberos The Red Wake, Chapter Master of the Carcharodons (Space Sharks). He's got a FW model, but it's old and doesn't really communicate how BIG he is (he's supposed to be the largest Space Marine EVER, almost as large as a primarch), as he's big enough he needed his terminator armor to be modified with DREADNOUGHT parts just to fit him.
This guy looks amazing! a proper old grizzled veteran, I can imagine him accompanying an Inquisitor as part of his retinue deep into an underhive to crush a Chaos cult he has heard rumours of. Maybe you could build the rest of that retinue! :D
Good choice for a model, and an idea. I know Chris Wraight has covered a lot of ground as it is just writing the new Custodes, but an Eye of the Emperor would make a great POV protagonist for a BL novel. Not invincible, but very knowledgeable so ideal for a detective

Warhammer fantasy Mordheim city of the damned has so many interesting characters to convert. The unique nature of each warband combined with hobbyist influences made for endless kitbashing
If you’re looking for Advice, I’d want to see some more on kitbashing, specifically kitbashing between different companies (Victoria, Atlantic, GW stuff and other third parties). It may be selfish but as someone who is going to be starting a kitbashed guard army, so I would like any and all available help. Anyways, love the mini, he looks great, and have a happy new year

The challenge is what other models would work to get this similar look but make each model different and not a whole team of blade champions. Add to that if you wanted them to be playable what could we use while still fitting the lore and the actual data sheets. 🤔

The head reminds me of Rogal Dorn from TTS. Fitting as Dorn is neither confirmed dead or alive in canon lore. Perhaps some of the loyal primarchs are acting as eyes of the emperor?
I would love to see a conversion of either Eliphas the Inheritor from DOW Dark Crusade or Marduk from the word bearers omnibus. Either way, word bearers conversions would look awesome.
Always love the facial details, that scar looks amazing! Have you considered making the Adeptus Arbites aka Space cops? They have a cool Robocop/Judge Dredd style and I think some of the Skitarii heads would fit quite nicely

I've had this plan in my head to convert a Winged Daemon Prince of the Flawless Host with the Slaaneshi Daemon Weapon talons. My plan was to use Sigvald as a base, with the hands replaced with Daemonette talons and some big feathery wings such as the ones from a Lord of Change kit. In my view, a daemon prince of Slaanesh shouldn't be this giant muscled behemoth; they should be lithe and quick and lissom. However, my hands shake due to nerve problems, so I'd love to see you take it on and do it more justice than I ever could.

No they relinquish their armour, and set out in to the galaxy and become spies, assassins, etc. They communicate back to the Custodes on Terra about any threats in the galaxy.
My understanding is that they might already have been. They aren't just retiring from being soldiers, they've done everything they could, now they just feel they have slowed too much to be a Custodian anymore.

I'd love to see a sorcerer dedicated to tzeentch, while I like the exalted sorcerer kit, I feel like it doesn't have any many options for customisation or poses out of the box outside of the generic bird motif mutations. Anything slaanesh would be cool too, perhaps a noise marine chaos lord or something of the like :)

The lore you explain and the look you have gone for is beautiful definitely set up for some sort of rpg.

Great conversion could easily tweak this to work for Aos or D&D.

I'm not sure how well the scale transfers over but I've been looking at the LotR easterling thinking they might be a good base for a Vitrian Dragoons.
Tip for green stuff:
Put it under hot water for couple of seconds and as it heats up it becomes more Easy to work with

As to Ideas for conversions, Iron warriors and ultramarine or IW/salamander kitbash if you would find it enjoyable.
