Capital STEEZ - AmeriKKKan Korruption (Reloaded & Remastered)
I only came across STEEZ and the PE crew at the end of 2013. I've never been so moved by an MC, and I've been moved by MC's since I heard my first hip-hop tape back in 1988, which was PE's 'It Takes A Nation ...' and it was during the death throes of apartheid in South Africa. I could write a long book about all the hip-hop music that has moved me. But to this date STEEZ is the Apex, and that is just my humble opinion. You may agree with me - great! You may disagree with me - great! I totally respect your opinion. Keep up the passion and fuck the hate. I'm not saying he is the best, only that he has moved me the most (although to me that makes him the best, to me).
The only thing about AK that disappointed me was the audio quality. Don't get me wrong, I love the raw DIY nature of it, but felt that it could do with mastering; clean it up and to level out the loudness across the tracks. Initially just for my own listening pleasure. Then my mind wandered into vinyl (my preferred format) and perhaps doing a short-run deluxe vinyl edition of 300 copies or so, with liner notes written by, and personal photo's by, his family. Also, with all profits going to his family or a charity of their choice.
I got as far as making contact with his sisters. Unfortunately, it seems to have stalled and is highly unlikely that it'll happen. I don't know why, probably because I came across as a bit nuts and totally obsessed (all true). I know I could just go ahead and do it without his family's consent, but that isn't my style.
So, it is time to share the mastered version of AmeriKKKan Korruption (Reloaded). Please share it widely, with love.

Honestly, it’s so hard to come back and listen to this project man it’s like an uncontrollable wave of emotions that hits with each verse. This project, along with 1999 and Summer Knights got me through some pretty rough times having to deal with losing loved ones. Thank you so much for the remastered version though, eye am at a decent point in my life as the years have passed and eye occasionally will re-listen to all the OG projects and reminisce about old memories as a youngin and such, and the feeling I felt fanboying the ERA was something I’d never forget. I’ve seen Pro Era 3 times in concert already but never did I get the chance to see $TEEZ. Til this day there hasn’t been an artist that has struck me harder than $TEEZ. I’ll still light a bleezy and play Dead Prez just to open my eye a bit. Thank you to everyone else who came across the vid and left your kind thoughts. #LONGLIVESTEELO

I been listening to Pro Era since 2014. I was 12 at the time and starting to comprehend music so when I heard Steez I Instantly idolized him but when I learned bout his death I was shook about it that I was listening to a man who was gone 2 years before I started listening to him. He was amazing

Conscious rapping is like looking into the future and trying to predict where the world is heading, and scarily people get it pretty right.

just found out about STEEZ a few weeks ago, and while i don't vibe at all on all the rest of Pro Era, he's pretty much now one of my favorite rappers, reminds me of a modern era krs-one mixed with a dirty version of del. i've listened to "free the robots" probably 50 times so far., the hook on it is just enthralling and he spits some real shit on it, much like the rest of this album. It's truly unfortune that the kid died at such a young age. Poor dude must have had some serious demons, but it's always the tortured artists that make the most monumental works. so RIP CS, maybe you finally reached christ concious

Of all of the uniquely gifted hip-hop artists who have emerged during the last fifteen years I always seemingly end up coming back to this mixtape more often than anyone else (Kendrick is a relatively close second) yet during every listen I can't help myself from really wondering what could have been and it's very disappointing.
Capitals has an incredible sense of understanding of words. He expresses himself perfecting if you really know what he's saying. Word for word he's saying something

I feel like anyone could get on well with STEEZ, he seemed interested in everything, dude pulls facts and info from the most random or surprising of places for bars in his tracks alot, he was probably a walking encyclopedia lol even Joey said that sometimes he had to ask STEEZ what certain words meant
