Good recovery and race m8! But as for the Gr4 mclaren, try to shift up around 50-75% of the bar because you have the maximum power there (and you are automatically saving a bit more fuel with that too ^^)
@@Super_GT there are 3 methods to find this out 😅 1st one: comparing the shifting with the other guys 2nd one: trial and error on the track xD 3rd one: on the tuning if you go to the power ratio (the bar where you can change the percentage of it) on the right hand side there's a telemetry of the cars Power, showing at which rpm it has its maximum power and then drops. But it's only roughly unfortunatly
Yes, that's what I observed as well. I think the range of input is crucial with this. You can only so much tune how precisely you push a small trigger or a joystick when you can have hundreds of degrees of rotation on a wheel and a much longer travel of the pedals.
Hey mate, recalibrate you pedals! a lot of the time you're missing 2-3% of the accelerator, and losing time on the straights! Take a look at 9:36 and pay attention to the throttle.
Yeah and while I could be wrong but after watching all Steve's races on the wheel, it seems almost everyone else is faster on straights or at least they seem like pulling away from him every time, no matter which car he's driving. Even when coming out of corners, they seem to pull away. Definitely something to look into imo.
hey steve, funny story about last night: i was having a horrible night and was drinking my soul out, and whilst i was doing so i was watching this exact video from you and i was laughing and cheering while i was kinda dizzy, later i don't really remember what happened but i woke up in my bed and when i saw my phone i remembered that watching your videos was the last thing i did before loosing conciousness and getting drunk. kinda unsettling, but thank you for making last night less sad, love ya steve. keep it up
Thank you so much for this video. It is so nice to see on line racing that is so realistic, unlike the carnage that happens in the Forza lobbies were it seems that everyone is out to win nomatter the damage that they cause to others as well as themselves. Bloody good racing, looking forward to watching more, again THANK YOU. Capt. Canuck from the great west coast of Canada.
Yeah, this is the backwards configuration and it can be brutal if you don't take the inside line (like you saw happen to Super GT and that other driver).
The tyre wear difference between the controller and the wheel is pretty insane. I'm using Nissan for the manufacturers cup and the softs were only lasting 3 laps before they were dead. I struggle to be completely smooth but it seems a bit excessive. Kinda wish Polyphony would consider balancing the game a little, the difference between the wheel and controller is a bit too big.
To be fair I think the Nissan's tyre wear is particularly bad because it's 4wd and doesn't have great handling. Having said that no matter how smooth you are with the controller the tyre wear is mega compared to driving with a wheel.
@@L3ON360Z To be honest I'm not sure. I think the reduced tyre wear you get by using a wheel is all about the smoother steering input it makes possible. Maybe they could do something with the degree needed for turning with the controller, make it more gradual somehow. I dont know, it's obviously way more complicated then I realise but it's a little unfair that you have to pay quite a large sum of money for a decent wheel set up to be truely competitive in this game.
Keep in mind that Mclaren weighs more than neptune. Driving smoothly should be your number one priority to keep those tires in peak condition. If you let the car drive you, it's over.
8:14 im pretty sure the porsche driver makes contact first, messing up the breaking of the nissan which results in the crash with the bmw, fair penalty, hard to judge from this angle though.
Shifting waaaay to late in the gr.4. Power loss is pretty significant in the higher revs. The gr.3 can rev all the way to redline with nearly no power loss.
many thanks! Yes, one of the key things about the wheel is the ability to be smooth which helps minimise mistakes. Also, the ability to recover from sliding where on a controller I may well fishtail off the circuit.
tbf to the guy in the GT-R, it was a complete disaster at that track. I had to two-stop on the soft tyres and I was still struggling (on a controller, admittedly). It understeers at the best of times, pairing it up with this track was never going to end well. He had a bit of a mare though, no question.
Btw there is tyre temps, they just aren't detailed. If you stop on the track for about 1 min, a blue color will appear around your tyres and you will have less grip for about 20 seconds.
Garmin Racer they originally had it run to the end but in chase cam I think but I think it used to glitch out and bug when other cars were in and out at the same time. Oh really?? I should look at that, though in most cases of racing you still come out on cold tyres so you should be fighting to get the tyres warm in your out lap otherwise under cutting is just too strong.
I guess the good thing as a beginner is not have to deal with backmarkers😅 i’d really like to drive in a clean race like your private lobbies but everything above B class is clearly to fast for me. Mclaren Gr.4 is competitive on corners; but terrible on the straights. It helps to short shift but that barely helps. PD needs to tweak it's acceleration/top speed. GT Sport has been out for over a year, but Mclaren's not getting much love.
@@Super_GT Ohhh, I would have love tro do it cauce this game is such nice with such a varient of cars and I would had love to play some realistic stuff in the game. Thanks for answer.
Maybe, but I think the penalty was awarded when the Nissan was starting to spin himself and hit the Cayman, and the game maybe registered that as the Cayman's fault for the Nissan spinning out. I don't know, just GTS being GTS I guess.
I'm convinced that the Porsche got the penalty for contact at 18:17 (when the Nissan is half off track and sideways). I can't see contact at 18:12, even when played in slow motion. I think the Nissan just took too much speed through the turn and was also unsettled by going partially onto the grass.
If Super GT doesnt rename himself "Mika Häkkinen" for his next Mclaren video, he doesnt deserve to be in same race as that one guy named "Räikkönen" And bottling will be punished with a badge of playing BMW and pretending to be a typical BMW driver.
