I did not know that he had passed away. I met him many years ago, and we had a wonderful conversation about feeling music and how music influences us. He was a great person and a true artist.
@FlordiaPanther28 Thanks for this very, very special upload, and for anybody interested in seeing this very instrument live today and being returned to its original strings and tuning playing music from the period, I have made an entire series starting here ua-cam.com/video/KLj8PFEjt_k/v-deo.html best wishes, Matt Redman
Yes, a great loss indeed. Very sad, and far too young. This blog on Harpguitar.net tells the story of Tom and his music. harpguitars.net/blog/2017/03/tom-shinness-harp-guitar-memories/
@@TheUrbanmeister @Phillip Riggins I unfortunately never met Tom in person but have heard much from his friends and colleagues about him. I am fortunate enough to have had the pleasure of time with this wonderful instrument which I re-strung and have returned it to how it was originally tuned and made an entire series about it, starting here ua-cam.com/video/KLj8PFEjt_k/v-deo.html
Rest in peace, tom. You live on through your music.

What an extraordinary performance!
Beautiful! Such a sad story though; he will be missed!
I've seen Tom Live at Ellendales in Donelson.
The Harp guitar is something else!
incredible
He mastered what it was built to do.

What's the name of this song.
I have no idea.
The name of the song is "Don't Give Into Sorrow About Tomorrow".
Someone can tell me the open tunning that he use please ?
I really think it is A 440, basic tuning. Listen to the beginning and the harmonics. Keep playing! I will never stop! :)
Thks Jimmy, yes, maybe one day somewhere we can play together, that is music spirit ;)
