One thing nice thing about identifying the flutes octave range with a number is that there should be not be any confusion about what you are asking for when ordering from a flute maker! 🤗 So that Low C that is actually a mid flute... clears that right up.

Can you explain the numbers of the Megahertz, Some flute maker are developing the flute with megahertz such as 440 hz ?
Great question:: Hertz use to be called cycles/sec and I still prefer to use cycles/sec which is also called frequency or pitch. 440hertz is the same as 440 cycles of sound which occurs in one second. The root note of an A4 flute is 440 cycles of sound per second. One Megahertz is 1,000,000 cycles /second and is not applicable when talking about sound. Joe DiSilvestro
Thanks so much for your reply, Joe. And I might add that some flute makers are creating in other cycles/sec such as 432 and 528 hz. This alters the pitch ever so slightly and can be difficult to hear without accompaniment by western instrumentation tuned to A440. . But if you play a 432 hz flute with 440 hz instruments (all western classical instrumentation) you will immediately hear the dissonance. 440 hz is a worldwide standard for orchestral tuning.
