I guess im asking randomly but does anyone know a way to get back into an Instagram account?
I was dumb forgot my login password. I would love any assistance you can give me.
@Jayce Koda Instablaster :)
@Omari Weston I really appreciate your reply. I found the site thru google and I'm trying it out atm.
Takes quite some time so I will reply here later with my results.
@Omari Weston it worked and I actually got access to my account again. I'm so happy:D
Thank you so much, you really help me out!
@Jayce Koda Glad I could help :)
Best video I've seen on changing rear springs on an Audi A4.
thanks , glad to help 👍👍
Huge thanks for this! I've watched and taken notes of what you have done as I'll I'll be doing this tomorrow.
Thanks for the comment , glad to help 👍👍
@@diydaly All went well, just a bit of a pain getting new coil in but job done so thanks again :)
@@nigelgreer5400 nice one , glad you got it sorted 👌👍
Great video, new spring in without issues thanks to this 🙌
Nice one , glad you got it done & thanks for the comment.. much appreciated 👍👌
What a great video! I’m a young technician & wasn’t up to the task even though my colleagues were saying that it’s quite easy to do. You’ve given me so much confidence to take on the task. 👍👌💪
Glad you liked it! yeah the rear springs can seem a bit daunting but there not bad to do really.. I'm sure you'll get them sorted :) thanks for the comment
Good lad.only way to learn.get stuck in.
If you don't work with guys that can fix anything that you can tear up, find a new shop to work in.
Just finished the job and your help was very accurat
Thanks Peter, glad to help 👍
Thank you... very clear and informative. I'll get mine done now
👍👍 glad it will help
good day. i want to cause my audi a4 b6 quattro cab butt. how could i do it and what part do i need? thank you. I will wait for advice.
Hi on my audi b7 my rear one side sits lower than other standard suspension is that normal thanks
Great continent! Doing this on my own car. U dont even need an extra tool to push down the spring. Fantastic work!
Glad it helped! Thanks for the comments , much appreciated 👌👍
I had to do the same, its funny how these Audi springs break so often. My experience was far different, its a cramp area and needs a strong single sided spring compressor, i had to crank the spring compressor down very tight and even then only had a little bit of wiggle room to push the lower A arm down just enough to push the top seat in place. I have no idea how that A arm has that much twist to take the whole spring. The video makes it look way too easy but its not. My springs are different from the video though, they have the white-green-green green marks on the bottom non sport
@@robertficek7586 i agree.im in process of putting set of rear springs in my 2006 avant se non sports suspension and its and absolute pig of a job.to the point now where ive left the job for the weekend to start it next week with a fresh head.my father is even talking of dropping the subframe bolts to give us and extra inch of wiggle room/having bottom arm at less of an angle.plus on top of this ive put a set of lesforjos springs in front and now she sits ski high like a 4x4.its so high to the point where i really do want them out.i dont know if kyb would sit better.
@@turbowank16v Its not too bad, i used a single sided spring compressor bought on Amazon, and it worked out fine. The audi manual says you need to compress a min of 4 coils. Lowering the sub frame will help but is not necessary, i had to unbolt the top damper and either top or bottom hub bolts to allow the lower arm a bit of swing. i unbolted the top as its easy to remove and the weight of the hub helps push down the arm, but mark the alignment position if you do. If the springs are changing the ride height significantly then maybe you would need to loosen the suspension bolts and allow the bushings to resettle to the new height, this would also give you more room to install the springs. The factory ride height should be about 15-15.5 inch from the bottom of the fender to the hub center
@@robertficek7586 Same as mine. I didn't have a single-sided spring compressor so, I had to lower the subframe so that the arm would come down far enough to get the standard size spring in.
Excellent video, have you done this job on standard suspension with longer springs, i barely got the broken one out and no hope of the new one going in
Theres another video where they drop the subframe on its bolts to get them in
Thanks for the comment mate 😁, yeah I have a used a load of jubilee clips to close the spring up just enough to get it in!lol .. I must say since doing this video I now always drop the subframe as it’s the easiest way if you’ve got a ramp.. I usually undo the 4 main bolts and lower it on some vertical jacks enough to get the springs in 👍
great Video, thanks mate!
Glad it was helpful! thanks for the comment 👍👍
This is an awesome video, the best, It took me two hours, problem was pushing the control arm down. The car is still 1 inch lower than the driver side, new shocks also...any suggestions 🤔??
nice one, glad It helped! thanks for the comment, I can only really be the spring mate, have you fitted an s line spring? they are lower than standard
Good video 👍. Music did my nut tho, no need for it 😀
Thanks .. Sorry about the music! I’ve stopped adding it to my current videos 👌
Good commentary.
Thanks for the comment 👍👍
Nice job 👍
Thanks 👍
Could I remove the anti roll bar first before the two big bolts on the bottom of the hub? In your video you done the two big bolts then the anti roll bar link after. I only ask as my spring is not broke so still under some tension and I would rather reach in there and undo the anti roll bar while the two big bolts are still on so no chance of getting my arms nipped!
Great video, very helpful, cheers for posting it.
yeah you'll be fine to do it that way mate , thanks for the comments 👍👌
@@diydaly cheers for the speedy reply, much appreciated.
@@xmgcx1 👍👌
Just done my front ones on my b7 s4 what a twat they can be be doing my rear ones tomorrow your video definitely as help on showing how todo it.
Yeah that rears are a lot easier!
Can you make a video where you do one that wasn’t broken and that has tension on it ? 🤦🏻♂️
thanks for video, it helped
You're welcome!
I have an A4 S4 b6. But as far as i know it’s the same. But when trying to put the new springs in they are a few cm too tall and i can’t get them in. They are exactly the same height as the old springs so it’s not that either. Any tips? I’ll be trying to see if i cant get one spring compressor on the springs today. But not too much space for them 😅
Thanks for the comment.. they can sometimes be awkward to squeeze in! one thing ive done before is clamp them up with a good few hose clips! not ideal but it can just get you the few mm you need sometimes!👍
@@diydaly Thank you for such a quick reply! But with some help and a spring compressor on one side of the spring i got them in! Hose clips is a solution i will remember for the future thou! Anyways, because the sub-frame came in the way i had to keep pushing the springs in while the person holding down the bottom arm released pressure, and it snapped right into place!
@@dontmindletsplay arr nice one , at least you got it sorted mate 👌👌👍
Servus, Dankeschön 👍👍👍
👍👍
Great video… I wish I had a lift. If doing this on axle stands and a jack, can I do this all by just having the one side in the air or do I need both wheels off the floor? Thanks
Thanks 😃.. yeah you could do it with just 1 side jacked right up if need be mate
@@diydaly thanks for the reply, I couldn’t see any reason why not, so I just jacked the one side up… I think I was just nervous about doing my first spring and started asking daft questions. Got the old spring out in 20 minutes or so, only difficulty was splitting the control arm? From the hub itself. Now just waiting for the part to be delivered tomorrow and then fitting should hopefully go just as smoothly as removal. All was made much easier thanks to you :)
@@michlyle5093 nice one , glad to help 👍 .. yeah there not bad to do really .. that arm can sometimes be abit tight! 🤞 the new one goes in fairly smoothly
Can i make the same steps also for a b7 4x4 model?
It should be similar but tbh I’ve never done a rear spring on a 4wd so wouldn’t like to say 100%
Late reply but I just did an awd and referenced this vid. For anyone wondering in the future. This vid is 1:1 the same process.
Dropped all 4 rear subframe bolts an inch for more pace. Probably didn’t have to though.
Im guessing on a quattro its much, much harder. Garage job if patience is limited?
Yeah it can be easier to lower the complete subframe is using a ramp too
Hi, please tell me how long does it take to install one spring and how much does it cost? thanks
I’d say around 1.5 hours , depends on the garages labour rate
@@diydaly Thank you
That was really good but i had just watched a video where they did it in 3 minutes,
now i'm confused, you undid a lot more stuff, they just jacked up the shocks and
took the shock absorber and the spring out, why did you take off all the other stuff first.
Good old guy tip you said, start the bolt by hand to avoid cross threading 10/10
Thanks Adrian 👌 Was the other video the exact same year/model? I’ve done atleast 20-30 rear springs on a b7 estate now and my way is about the quickest I’ve found to safely do it.. glad you liked the tip ha
Hi is the audi a6 c6 a simillar set up ??
Tbh I’m not sure mate , I’ve never replaced a rear spring on an A6 , will try find out for you 👍
Yes its similar but not exactly the same, i have just taken a broken spring out of A6 C6 AVANT with standard suspension and the spring is longer and the well it sits in is deeper than the same model with sports suspension. Even with half a turn missing from the spring and the bottom arm levered down as far as it would go, it still had too much tension on it to remove it. I jacked the arm up to compress the spring and put two small ratchet straps through the spring and looped them around it three times on either side to hold it compressed while i levered the arm down and pulled it out, it was still a struggle and i then put ordinary spring compressors on it and tightened them until the straps came loose, removed the straps and loosened the spring compressors. Check the sticker inside the boot to see what suspension you have:
1BA Standard, 1BB Heavy duty (20mm higher), 1BC Special purpose, 1BD S4, 1BE Sport, 1BP Heavy duty (same height as 1BA but with limited bump), 1BT Heavy duty (7mm higher).
I HAVE NO IDEA HOW I WILL GET THE NEW SPRING IN AS IT WILL NEED COMPRESSING TO FAR TO BE MESSING AROUND WITH HOLDING IT WITH STRAPS, COMPRESSED SPRINGS ARE NO JOKE AND IF YOU NOT 100% SURE HOW TO DO IT, LEAVE IT WELL ALONE.
Is it audi a4 b6 estate suspension same as this one?????? 🤔
Yeah pretty much , there may be slight differences but basically the same 👌👍
@@diydaly thanks 👍
@@vencislavpenev9902 no probs , hope you get it sorted ok 👌👍
Not sure why you went this rout, there's two subframe bolts either side unbolt them and swing it down the spring will fall out.
I’ve done them by undoing all 4 bolts and dropping the subframe before which is not too bad a method but would be a right clat if you didn’t have a ramp ha
@@diydaly not to bad doing it on the floor just support the frame with the jack once the spring has been replaced its a case of jacking it up and relocating the bolts, just done both my rears took around an hour
👌👍
well that was a bastard but quicker than my 1st try 3yrs ago.
took the top bolt off and both bottom ones. doh
On my own on my drive
this time i had car fully off the ground at the back end and used your guide
Haha nice one , at least it’s done done 👍👌
😍😍
thanks 👍👌
Works on quattro to i hope 😅
Should be similar
@@diydaly Yeah sounds like that, did read a comment a bit below that said the same 😁👍
@@blod9000 👍👍🤞 all goes smoothly for you!
