Very impressed with the ESAB brand. Bought myself a Rebel 215ic for Christmas. It’s is hands down the nicest unit I’ve ever welded with. So smooth and easy with flux core. Have spend hours doing repairs on a couple of my trailers. No complaints. I’m smiling every time I lift my helmet up.
I got 4 of em . All 4 have problems ! 141i smoked ! Emp 210 lasted about 30 hours. Its in the shop for repair . The 215 menu knob broke . Its stuck in mig mode ! The 285 dont run right . I smelled the coffee and went back to millers . Ive never had a miller break on me 40 years ! Ive put down over 200,000 pounds of wire . NEVER had a miller break down on me !
I'm tempted to pick one of these up to replace an older mig welder I have. I'm sure that they could have put an auto run fan in there, just chose not to to keep the price down and to not compete with itself. Nice to see them offer just a mig only machine, I feel like a lot of the multi-process machines don't give you a whole lot when you get down to it, but it can save some money vs buying each individual machine.
Everlast have the auto voltage detect and more features at a better price. Never had a single issue out of my Everlast welders. The Everlast 215c is mig, stick and plasma arc for $1299 with a 5year warranty.
ESAB has the EMP 210 that is the multiprocess unit you would probably compare it to. bakersgas.com/products/esab-0700503200 We hear neverlast :) but honestly we just do not sell/support or service them so we can not speak to the quality on those or the pricing to compare.
@@BakersGas don't get me wrong, ESAB makes a good machine and I love the sentinel hood. The EMP machines are really nice but if I were to buy an all in one it would either be an Everlast offering or one of the EMP machines but probably an Everlast, solely based on the great experiences I've had with Everlast. I worked for a rental company and they rented a lot of millers and Lincoln welders and seeing what it cost when the boards give out steers me away from them.
Everlast is owned by russians and made in China. ESAB is european and those welders are made in Sweden and USA, they have a lot of employees and great customer support. Everlast has a small showroom in San Francisco and a lady which has no clue, does the customer support...sooo, you can not really compare a low budget Everlast welder, because this kind of brand is about making profit as much as possible. Everlast welders are great, no doubt, but look behind the scene also. Miller, Lincoln, Esab, Weldclass, Fronius etc. these are the real deal
I’m new to welding so does the owners manual explain all of these features and how to set it up? I don’t want to buy something overly complicated and confusing but I do want something good.
This machine does not really compare it really compares to other lower end MIG welders. The Rebel line is definitely an upgrade. The sMIG in the Rebel is a big differentiator.(we have a video on sMIG if you are not familiar but it adapts while you are welding for a consistent weld every time) Also the screen and adjustments on the Rebel much more advanced. However at this price point you are getting a few of the ESAB nicer accessories and capabilities.
@@BakersGas The sMIG is what I was wondering. 👍🏻 People will probably knock this machine but I think it’s brilliant. It’s for the guy/gal that says I want a welder but I don’t want a HF welder and I don’t want to spend $2K+ for a Legacy brand entry level welder. There’s a huge gap in the $800-$2000 range. Hope they sell well!

I’m glad ESAB is always Innovating. Thanks Baker’sGas for selling all the right stuff.
Just wanted to say thank you! So easy to get parts and tools from you. I love my Esab tools.
Thank you for watching and supporting us we really appreciate it!
Bought my husband 2 ESAB helmets for Christmas. 1 for work and 1 for home

Pour vous Esab est de moins bonne qualité que les Miller ? Il y a aussi Fronius...🙌🏽
Then why did you buy 4 new welders then? Smell 🐂 💩 in your comment!
So why did you have to buy 4 new welders if those millers never break down? I smell 🐂 💩 in your comment, and it screams ignorance!
Nice looking setup

Yes we see a lot of people getting this for a solid MIG unit! Let us know if you have any questions!
Very informative review, thank you
Nice review, thank you. The part that sadly degrades this ESAB is when you said it competes with Harbor freight.
haha yes well it is more in that category than the Rebel line which competes with Miller/Lincoln

Going to order mine soon
Hello, is posible stick welding with it ??
What is the difference with the firepower mst 200
I just bought that machine, and it appears to be identical, other than the FP being 200 amp.

Ooo I wanna try one of these!
Looks cool
Expected more from Esab instead of lowering their standards to fit the lower market price!
Emp video?
Pretty good
How does this compare to the EMP 215ic. With the exception that the 215 does tig, is the MIG function the same?
