During the raid they were caught specifically looking for information pertaining to an investigation about his misconduct in Kansas City. I suspect the restaurant owner was an excuse, and the whole thing was a fiction to justify disrupting that investigation. Which, of course, leads me to wonder what exactly he was afraid they'd find.
This poor woman. I just saw a case where a police officer violated a man’s rights and arrested him because the cop thought the man who legally purchased a hotel room and was seen eating outside (officer said that was suspicious activity). the public has been stroking law enforcement's egos for so long they think that they can get away with anything . they say that they're held to a higher standard but nearly always receive lenient sentences.
Ironic that someone with a Ukraine flag on their profile would be against abusive government. If there is no bigger sign on one's forehead that they are a sheep who cannot think for themselves and is a supporter of government narrative, than it's someone with a Ukraine flag.
"You better wait and see what trouble you're getting into!" That is very prophetic. Officials all the way up to the state AG have stained themselves and fortunately they can't wash this one off!
And when are they going to be held accountable? It should include those who were involved at KBI, the magistrate and all members of the local Marion government and when FOIA requests are stonewalled, the courts should jail anyone and everyone standing in the way of the FOIA. We can have no tolerance for government overreach.
be careful, you already saw what happen when they tried to investigate once. Dont be surprised you have a bunch of cops at your doorstep with a warrant saying you obtained their publicly available phone numbers illegally or your videos on this as harassment.
The city council members, the cops, the chief, and all KBI investigators involved must be held accountable for the wrongful search and seizures and the wrongful death of the owner of the news paper.
It doesn't matter where the phone is or who has possession of it, the phone company has those records. The refusal to provide public records is actionable. Now that the KBI has been implicated as co-conspirators it should be easy to get the Feds involved. The governor is ultimately responsible for the actions of the police officers. Ask governor Stitt if he will do the job he was elected to do or if he will adamantly refuse. I guarantee he will not do his job. The governor needs to order the attorney general to bring charges. Public records laws have teeth.
Phone companies have different policies on retention of text messages. They all generally keep records of what numbers are involved and when messages were sent, but the contents of the messages themselves may be stored for a year or more or deleted after just a few days, depending on the company.
@@cymeriandesigns I was surprised when I found out that they delete sms texts so quickly. They could make money offering cloud storage at least but they don't.
Local and state government agencies such as this will all too often spend more time ducking their legal responsibilities to produce records via FOIA requests, rather than producing those records.
The death penalty is on the table under 18 U.S. Code § 241 - Conspiracy against rights. ”You can’t help it, you were ordered here..” But they could, and infact it’s their duty to refuse to carry out such orders. They chose not to, and in fact probably never reflected at all before doing the raid. They never do, most cops are convinced that the law, and the constitution are mere suggestions, and can be disregarded as is convenient.
Funnily enough, "just following orders" has never worked for when tyrant regimes are being judged, whether by their own citizens or the international courts.
@@ShaggyRogers1 True, but the tyrant regime in this case is the U.S Government, and as long as it is in power there can be no meaningful accountability for police.

"The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.” EVERYONE involved needs to be held accountable.
It would be great if you could investigate and report on the relationship between the chief and the restaraunt owner now that we know they had a “special” relationship. It seems like the chief violated the constitution in order to impress and benefit his girlfriend, and it needs to be reported on.
"You don't know what kind of trouble you're gettin' into." Prophetic last words!
This police chief, the DA, and all others involved need to be charged with the murder of the old woman!
Not murder. Read the law.
@@Invictus13666 depends on how its worded. a lot of states put into law the clause if there is a death during the course of a crime, anyone participating can be charged with that death. They used this law for years to railroad minorities for minor crimes and it should be applied here.
There is a man currently being charged with murder because a cop had a heart attack while arresting him
@@brwi1big difference between charges and a conviction. You don't understand the law any better than the cops.
@@brwi1 no, the charge is manslaughter, and it’s not standing up. Quit believing everything that idiot Freeman bleats out.
Watching this shows that this 98 year old lady, Joan Meyer, had more morals and backbone than the entire Marion police department. She will be remembered long after they are in obscurity.
the public has been stroking law enforcement's egos for so long they think that they can get away with anything .
they say that they're held to a higher standard but nearly always receive lenient sentences.
Keep up the good work. Keep them accountable
be careful, you already saw what happen when they tried to investigate once. Dont be surprised you have a bunch of cops at your doorstep with a warrant saying you obtained their publicly available phone numbers illegally or your videos on this as harassment.
Like the dishonest and abusive Adams county deputies trying to sue "afroman"
The city council members, the cops, the chief, and all KBI investigators involved must be held accountable for the wrongful search and seizures and the wrongful death of the owner of the news paper.
This is an important story. And a tragedy, for her and American journalist. It shows an abuse of power, with zero regard for the Constitution.
This case is the actual epitomy of law enforcement in Kansas. 100% true and accurate representation of every cop from the KBI to the small town cop.
It’s like you don’t know the governor of Kansas is a woman named Laura Kelly....
Phone companies have different policies on retention of text messages. They all generally keep records of what numbers are involved and when messages were sent, but the contents of the messages themselves may be stored for a year or more or deleted after just a few days, depending on the company.
Governor? Why do you clowns ALWAYS believe an elected official has so much power and onus? Trumptards... always finding ways to set the bar lower.
The feds are even worse criminals than local Law enforcement.
Who still eats at the woman's restaurant? She started the whole issue.
Close em down. Drunk people shouldn't get to own crap when this is what they do.
This is just disgusting and caused the death of a old lady..... Karma will visit each of these LEO's one day.
The director and KBI agents deserve prison time, too.
The death penalty is on the table under 18 U.S. Code § 241 - Conspiracy against rights.
"If two or more persons conspire to injure, oppress, threaten, or intimidate any person in any State, Territory, Commonwealth, Possession, or District in the free exercise or enjoyment of any right or privilege secured to him by the Constitution or laws of the United States, or because of his having so exercised the same; or
If two or more persons go in disguise on the highway, or on the premises of another, with intent to prevent or hinder his free exercise or enjoyment of any right or privilege so secured-
They shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than ten years, or both; and if death results from the acts committed in violation of this section or if such acts include kidnapping or an attempt to kidnap, aggravated sexual abuse or an attempt to commit aggravated sexual abuse, or an attempt to kill, they shall be fined under this title or imprisoned for any term of years or for life, or both, or may be sentenced to death."
End Qualified Immunity and start holding law enforcement officers accountable for their criminal actions and lying.
They follow orders from poli ticians and do their bidding. These guys represent the very backbone of our country's corruption, as without them it would not have the power of firearms to enforce itself on the people.
Isn’t it amazing that the Nuremberg defense that didn’t work for the nazis is the successful go to defense for corrupt American cops
Police aren’t trained on how to uphold your rights, their literal job is knowing how and when they can violate them.
How DARE THEY? I hope there have been some sleepless nights for those involved or are they totally heartless murderers?
Another case that makes the justice system in this country look like total $hit.

This was a robbery that resulted in the death of an innocent woman, and should be prosecuted as such
Not a robbery, a conspiracy against rights. Under 18 U.S. Code § 241 - Conspiracy against rights these idiots could, technically, face the death penalty because the lady died.
"They shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than ten years, or both; and if death results from the acts committed in violation of this section or if such acts include kidnapping or an attempt to kidnap, aggravated sexual abuse or an attempt to commit aggravated sexual abuse, or an attempt to kill, they shall be fined under this title or imprisoned for any term of years or for life, or both, or may be sentenced to death."
The whole code text says:
18 U.S. Code § 241 - Conspiracy against rights
If two or more persons conspire to injure, oppress, threaten, or intimidate any person in any State, Territory, Commonwealth, Possession, or District in the free exercise or enjoyment of any right or privilege secured to him by the Constitution or laws of the United States, or because of his having so exercised the same; or

I hope whoever is investigating this does not give up and does everything to get justice for this lady. The immense stress and worry this put on her, I’m sure, is what killed her. I’ll bet she got no sleep and just worried to the point that her heart failed. How could they do this?! 😢
This is exactly the reason the Founding Fathers of America did what they did by putting the Constitution in place. I’m from the UK and I feel for the American people fighting for their Constitutional rights and sometimes against their own people. The first, second and fourth amendments are vital and should never be allowed to be diluted.
Thanks for the support, but I believe you have your own country has a problem with nefarious law-enforcement, and pro fascist totalitarian sects of your government.
The second amendment is vital in its original intent with no interpretations to what it “could” mean.

These officers need to be in prison!
The corruption and lawlessness from the Police is absolutely out of control in this case, and the KBI seems complicit in it.
They continue to walk free, with no consequence for them violating citizens right, terrorizing them, and killing grandma.
Will there be any consequences? Or another Qualified and judicial immunity, so only penalty is free, paid vacations for all officers involved?
Because they’re never held accountable!!
That police chief needs to be arrested.
The "chief" deserves to be fired and have his police powers suspended indefinately. The DOJ should also look at proscecuting.
The chief resigned days after being suspended. You can’t fire someone who’s quit. I mean...they only said it in the video.
He should be in prison for murder.
He ran as far away from Marion, Kansas as his little piggy legs would carry him.
The doj?
😂😂😂😂
DOJ is ten times more corrupt than this police force.
I love that old lady. She fought the corruption with her last breath.
To the person that is claiming that they can’t go after someone that leaves the state, the Constitution covers that.
Making such an outrageous claim that they can’t move because someone “left the state” is a blatant violation of Federal Law!
I believe they're saying the Kansas Bureau of Investigation doesn't have jurisdiction to pursue him outside Kansas.
They don't want to, and they will dig their heels in and refuse to work with out of state agencies@@akinpaws

You don't cause a controversy like this just to keep someone's DUI record a secret. Something bigger is happening here.
His cell phone doesn't need to be in the state of Kansas to get the messages, they're on record with the cell phone carrier, so the attorney for the city is talking out of their ass. I'm sure they're long deleted off the phone anyway.
Off the phone but not the network. Some of those records, if not all, are stored for up to 2 yrs prior to permanent deletion.
Keep shining light on this story...corruption and lies top to bottom...
Every one of those police officers should have known that that raid was illegal. This just goes to show you that when you begin to hold some of these people up as heroes because they do a few good things, you have no idea what they’re doing when you’re not watching. The Pennsylvania State police are as bad as the Kansas police, they will try to hide information as well and slow walk everything that makes them look bad. I could give five or six examples right away if anyone wants them. They have one Pennsylvania state trooper that arrests people for domestic violence and he was just arrested in September for “wait for it” domestic violence. The list is extensive.
obviously they all stand by it.. if they didn't they would say so. remember people, you elect the leaders in your community you deserve..
The cover up is in full swing. Huge lawsuit incoming.
Yes
End qualified immunity, hold corrupt officers accountable for their actions
This shows how crooked the system is
She died because of an illegal search warrant and NOT a Single Cop, Judge, DA or KBI Leader has been charged with murder or breaking the law... yet someone was just charged with murder of a cop because the cop in question died from a heart attack... screwed up System!!!
Someone should ask the Kansas governor to be involved, if the AG chooses to not respond.
if they are trying to hide anything means there are guilty !!! if anyone else did that shat and the person died from the incident we would be in jail for murder !!! so why hasn't the cop been charge with murder !!! and yes they are gonna pay out tons of money to try and cover it up !!!
Everyone of them knew they were wrong being corrupt. They all should be in jail. Every one of them. Including kbi.
