This must have been a field day for the two VA's to play their own characters and sometimes speak to themselves with one's voice talking to the other and vice versa.
If my calculations are correct... this was a really lucky coincidence [the script, recordings and animation for this review were probably done before the earliest overseas release of the episode].
No one can stop the DustyKatt. And I know that Aztec/Mayan game. The ball is nearly 10+ pounds, the goal is nearly 10 feet up and you mainly have to use your hips, head, and elbows. Losers of the game get killed for sacrifices. I even got to hold the ball that was used and let me tell you, it is hard to hold.
I think there is some debate about who got sacrificed; it might have been the winners (note this was likely only at major games and depended on the era). There is evidence that the game or a variant was played in Olmec times (about 3500 years ago) and a version is still played in some places now (ulama).
In MLP, telekinesis is probably an exponentially taxing spell. Most Unicorns could use it, but need to clear more of their minds for each object they manipulate. Snail's mind is so prodigiously empty that there's no background thought getting in the way, allowing him to manipulate as many items as he wants however he wants. He's essentially a monk with an empty mind
I can defiantly relate to Pinkie and Fluttershy in this episode. My family loves sports and are pretty extreme about them. In my family, it's pretty much a requirement to be involved in some kind of sport at least once in your life. For me, I was pretty much forced into every sport I played. I hate sports. Especially playing them. My mom was super worried about me not getting out there and wanted me to stay active. She kept signing me up for the wrong dance classes, and made me play sports I had absolutely no interests in such as softball, gymnastics, cheerleading, and more. I am far more interested in books and art, but was way too scared to say anything to my parents. I felt like I had to play sports because I was a member of my family and I'd be letting them down if I was honest about how I felt about sports. The one time I was able to tell my parents off about a sport was when I was playing softball and nearly broke my nose (note to anyone reading this: NEVER look up when after you hit the ball with the bat. Despite the name, THAT BALL IS NOT SOFT!!!). When I was in middle school, I finally was able to get my parents off my back and tell them off about how I felt about playing sports in full and got them to stop signing me up for things I didn't even like. Bonus, I was finally able to sign up for things I did like: art club, stage hand for theater, things like that. There was no pressure for me to sign up or do well in those things and, because of that, I was finally able to enjoy an activity. I love my family and all, but I am nothing like them and they can sometimes drive me a bit crazy. But at least they understand me now. Well, better than they used to. It's still a work in progress but I'm just happy not to be in any sports anymore.
Dusty in a collab with Firebrand? I think the testosterone level of this video just went through the roof. J/k Anyway, I loved this episode, especially because it managed to make Snail likable, something I thought the show creators just weren't interested in doing like at all. Maybe he just works better when Snips isn't around.
Apples aren’t quite so expensive as you make them to be, I think you can destroy a dozen of them an it’s still under a bit lol. This is such a great and underrated episode! The closest we have for a Pinkie/Fluttershy episode too. They make a great pair and should spend more time together. And nice that buckball made a comeback in season 8.
I think I have a reason why twilight starlight and rarity couldn't join in the reason why why twilight couldn't join in Is because she's a alicorn and that would be to op and as for starlight and rarity they most likely just don't like sports and for reasons why they were not at the game twilight and starlight were probably still at the crystal empire at the time and rarity was probably busy with orders
Rarity may not enjoy being in sports, but she likes watching RD do tricks both professionally and not. She loves supporting Fluttershy and Pinkie in whatever they do, and she loves social events. Yes, it's possible she was off in Canterlot or Manehatten for a month, and yes, Starlight and Twilight could have broken time again necessitating the intervention of the time lords, but we don't get any of that, we just have to assume for ourselves.
In his Chess Review commentary on the Game of the Century* back in 1956, Hans Kmoch described the young Fischer as sitting "like a little Buddha, showing his moves with the calm regularity of an automaton." That sounds to me like a chess player in the Zone. And what you said about chasing the Zone, Moon Blaze. Might that have contributed to Bobby Fischer's tragic character arc? I mean, his mental breakdown later in life was far worse than Morphy's; HE should be called "the Pride and Sorrow of Chess". * Game can be found at www.chessgames.com/perl/chessgame?gid=1008361 with different commentary.

8:48 - 9:53 Hey, almost like _Kuroko's Basketball!_ Seriously, the "Zone" is used in pretty much every game in that series and it's almost a power up for those guys, the MC especially.
Soooooo no one is gonna mention that one of the executive producers of this episode was none other than the man behind the best series known as Storm Hawks ???? Like no one at all!?!?! at 1:51 look at the credits for executive producers and tell me I am the only one who noticed Asaph Fipke's name....the man again who is behind Storm Hawks!?!?

"Why would she need a unicorn costume?" 'Given that it's Pinkie, there's a reason. It's probably a good reason and we're probably better off not knowing.' "True." Guys, it's Pinkie Pie. Don't question it.
"Just one miss will ruin the Apple family's buckball record, forever." "How? Braeburn is a member of the Apple family and he is playing for the opposing team. No matter which team wins, an Apple will be going home with a medal."
Also, since Pinkie Pie took Applejack's place on the winning team, then didn't (technically) the Apples lose? Or does Pinkie Pie still qualify as an honorary Apple?
Dusty: "Even if I sell it to you, it's still mine" Uh, that's...not how it works. By that mentality, my computer isn't mine. And Firebrand's jacket isn't his. Not even a minute in and I'm bitching!
To put it simply the ZONE is basically another way of saying FLOW STATE. The flow state happens when one stops overthinking and just lives in the moment, allowing one person to concentrate on whatever it may be that they're doing.
I did really liked this simple casual episode with mixing the casual humor with the moral even if it was a bit on the nose at time I was willing to over look it with all of the fund scenes in it.

Funny thing about the Aztec sport showed in Eldorado, either the people seen the game and made it part of their culture or the makers of the movie didn't take to consideration that this hidden tribe was located in ancient Colombia.
Uhhhhh is it it kind of hilarious and ironic that this episode is about 4 characters who two actors voice act as, One voice acts as RD and AJ and another voices Fluttershy and pinkie. Yikes this episode must have been super rough for them to keep up with their roles? XD
AJ said that Braeburn had gotten a unicorn and pegasus to join the team. I think buck ball was originally for farmers or earth ponies as the goals can be on poles.
Ya know, a redemption arc for Snips involving his weight would be a great thing, especially with the show coming to an end sooner or later. (Hopefully later.) Just taking a look at his father may show that he comes from a thin/really-into-exercising family. He could feel resentment towards other ponies because of his weight or even a phase where he goes through an eating disorder. Personally, I feel this would be a great thing for the show to tackle.
This must have been a field day for the two VA's to play their own characters and sometimes speak to themselves with one's voice talking to the other and vice versa.
