Repetition

A "good" student will practice their practice part until they 'get it right.' An "EXCELLENT" student will practice their practice part until they "can't get it wrong." Playing the passage over and over and over again correctly will train their fingers and brain to remember how to play it with mastery. Of course, repetition really is only effective once they can play it correctly. So, practice slowly first!
