oh man those Owl Knights! When you killed their owls I actually felt a LITTLE bad for them lol...and Yorick haha! the SOTN enemies are just some of my favorites ever, the bestiary is so incredibly macabre and leans into so much classic vampire lore and a host of Biblical references like Salome and Beelzebub. Love how the Scarecrow is an impaled man on a stick and Grandfaloon/Legion is def one of the most disturbing bosses I've ever fought. now you're making me want to start a new game lol
Honestly, this is just beyond great. I think I've commented on other videos of your covers but, my god, ''great'' doesn't cut it. You somehow always manage to preserve and do justice to the original sound, style and character of the original piece, but your renditions always manage to bring out something special that didn't appear to be there before. Your command of dynamics and awesome harmonic twists is so freaking satisfying to listen to, it's always a joy to pick these apart and try to see what you're doing. A lot of these songs from SOTN have a classical or classical-inspired edge to them, but you somehow manage to grab these compositions and drag them all the way over the finish line, into the realm of what seems like serious concert-grade music (not to be a snob and write off the originals as just ''game music'' of course, but theres something serious to be said about your reworking abilities, specially as it relates to your instrument, and the really piano-specific language that you adapt the songs into) A lot of your stylistic choices and the little add-on codas you come up with to end these tracks seem SO classical in nature to me, and jeez, its just awesome to see an interpretation coming from someone with this kind of musical background and language in their head haha. Basically, you don't see or hear this much on youtube. Sorry for the huge comment, but I've been watching these for some time, and had all this on my mind for a while hahaha. Thanks for all your amazing work

Thank you for listening to my stuff for so long and taking the time to write such a thoughtful and insightful compliment, honestly, this means SO much to me, as I try to somehow channel my love for the game and the OST when my field of discipline may not necessarily be the most suitable, though as you so very astutely pointed out the SOTN OST has the benefit of hitting that space where metal and classical have an unlikely overlap, so it's incredibly satisfying to arrange. It does get challenging with tracks with a harder groove like Marble Gallery, Wandering Ghosts, and in particular I have been stuck on Crystal Teardrops because that booty bass is SO important to that one and I'm just like...HOW DO I REPLICATE THIS VIBE!??! LOL! But to leave it out entirely just because it doesn't fit to what a piano can do is unacceptable to me lol, it's just too integral to the feel of the track. So conundrums like that are always intriguing problems to work around. I still have a lot to learn and wish I could things better, but at the end of the day I am so happy that SOTN fans like you feel that my adaptations reflect the spirit of the original and the game, that's really all I want in the end. ❤️ Thank you so, so much again for the encouraging words! I didn't even play SotN that much for the soundtrack to give me a lasting impression, but I loved every second of this. There is something about Castlevania music that makes it really suitable for piano arrangements, and *your* piano arrangements never disappoint me. Hi there! I hopped back on your channel last weekend and noticed it's been *quite* a while. I'm not sure if I had seen any of your Castlevania videos before.
Anyway, you really managed to sell me the Netflix Castlevania series, so I binged it right away. xD "Funny" thing is, I haven't played a single Castlevania game myself, but I have watched Super Castlevania IV and SOTN being played a bunch. OH MY GOD ANDREW THANK YOU FOR MENTIONING BARTOK AND GINASTERA 😭♥😭♥ like this one gave me NO END OF TROUBLE and i was literally throwing everything but the kitchen sink at it for months, I was initially trying to go for a Scriabin vibe, then it got all slightly jazzy, then it got slightly polytonal, and after it was all done I was like OH NO THIS SOUNDS LIKE HINDEMITH and was legit mildly depressed at the thought lmao
