Sadly, this actually happened to my mom and sister a couple decades ago. They wanted basically vanilla ice cream in a cup, so they said, "ice cream cone in a cup" and the person was so confused not knowing what my mom wanted, at our dairy queen, they literally in front of them took an ice cream cone, turned it upside down, put it in a cup, and handed it to them. My sister and mom had a good laugh over it. I think this was a genuine dairy queen thing.
I recently just quit my job at Dairy Queen and at least at my location. We always handed and made the cones last because they suck to make and we hated making them. Because thier sooooooo melty and very easy to slip off the cone
@@SirWalterUnderbridge hmm not sure I live on the west coast and if I go to DQ, I get a blizzard which as its in a cup gets handed early because drinks tend to be handed out first. I don't get cones as 1 I don't like dealing with the sticky hands and mess and 2 I prefer a blizzard.
Thank you! At my location they NEVER give you a drink carrier for your multi drink/blizzard order unless you specifically ask for it. 99% of the time they put multiple blizzards in a single bag that always rips because it is paper!!!
I don’t mind stray blizzards outside a cup holder, but all the topsy-turvy drinks and sundaes seem to want to destroy my car, and even the drink caddies can barely wrangle the drinks. It’s like the Wild West of fast food. Totally worth it though, DQ is sooooo good. And, unfortunately for my waistline, there’s one at the other end of my block 😂😅
This is why I always got a hot fudge sundae (small) in a cup so I didn’t have to worry getting/dripping all over the place (car, restaurant, and/or somewhere else). Keep up the good work with the animations (awesome and hilarious)!!!

call me a whistleblower, I worked at DQ for three years in high school. It's really just that the cone is easiest to make, so whoever is working on chill side (where the ice cream stuff is made) usually makes it first.

I'm a supervisor at DQ and I totally agree, for drive-thru ice cream I tell people I'm training to do blended stuff like milkshakes and blizzards first, then cup ice cream like sundaes and banana splits, then finally cones so they don't melt.
I've had a somewhat similar experience, we'd order some Blizzards and my goodness, whoever makes the Blizzards in my area will overfill the cup to the point where you can try to put a lid on it but it just spills out, and majority of the time they were always melted anyways so it was always just bad in general😅
This is why I personally have chosen Milkshakes. It's still satisfying like Ice Cream, it's in a cup, I can easily drink it while in a car, and no spills.
The Diary Queen in my area closed years ago but I remember when we went as a kid and you order something with an ice cream cone they hand you the ice cream last. I’m guessing in that area of Bob’s they make the ice cream first if a) his food isn’t ready or b) so they don’t have to do it later.

This just shows how incompetent fast food places are nowadays and just how done employees are That reminds of the time I DoorDashed for a Taco Bell order and apparently the employees were too occupied with the FUCKING DRIVE THRU, because apparently they did not have enough people on deck and since the drive through is always crowded they have so much difficulty serving the dashers as well as getting the food out on time or whenever DoorDash expects the delivery to get picked up. So I along with other dashers was waiting 10-20 minutes past the expected delivery time.
I feel so conflicted on this cause on bobs side yes very solid points but on the side of me having worked in a place that did make ice cream cones..nah man thats the customer to figure out.
I never understood ice cream cones. Like……. I’m going there to eat ice cream, not a cone. I don’t want the last bite to be some shitty cardboard tasting cone. I want ice cream!

I don't know why they're cheaper (likely because the material they make modern cones out of is substandard for ice cream and dairy queen won't put up with it) . Sadly, this actually happened to my mom and sister a couple decades ago.
