Definitely a fan of Vbox equipment and circuit tools. Gonna have to get this after Christmas for next season

Pricey. Would like to trial one. Is it weather proof for fitting in a single seater?

Have you tried it for an endurance race?

Great for experts not needed for 90% of weekend warriors. For the price a catalyst is more helful then this.

if you suck at driving and don't understand data, that'd be correct lol

We're big fans of the Catalyst as well, and have two of them in our testing kits. We love the ability to instantly review data from the Catalyst before you even hop out of the car, but the proprietary nature of the data display does limit the ultimate functionality for some. The Catalyst is also a bit more cumbersome to install and move, with a larger form factor and multiple pieces of hardware to mount.
The real bottom line is track enthusiasts have never had it better than they do now, with lots of great choices for data acquisition that are powerful AND affordable.

@@Grassrootsmotorsports would u say this is more of a expert level setup and the catalyst more rookie to intermediate?

@@gigi9467 I'm not sure I'd break them down that way, because I think drivers of all skill levels could ge benefits from both systems. I think the ceiling on the VBox is higher, though. You trade some of the immediate access and streamlined interface of the Catalyst for the potential of a much deeper analysis and a more complex data stream. The form factor of the HD Mini is also nice. The garmin requires a lot of real estate in the car to mount, and has a lot of cables. The HD mini is far more compact. Yes, the Catalyst is great for someone just starting to dabble in data, and it's going to teach them a lot, but it's also never going to let you out of its ecosystem or progress your data analysis beyond its own capabilities. The HD Lite brings similar ease of use to a true data analysis suite that you can use at an increasingly higher level as your skill grows.
