Ah the last song that was played as the song finished was called "The Last Stand" from the album with the same name. Its really good. Looking forward to your reaction of it. :)
Fun Fact: the beat in the song was actually made by substituting the kick drum, snare and hi-hat with maschine gun, handgun and a bayonet stabbing flesh respectively
Just a minor correction: Patton led the Third Army. The 2nd Armored Division (Hell on Wheels) was indeed part of the Rhine Campaign and was part of Third Army but Patton was running was more than just a division, he was running an entire army.
I was on my first Sabaton concert two days ago in Sweden, it was one of the best concerts i´ve been to, still havn´t recovered 😅! Probably going to see them again next year. 😁
@6:00 idk if you are going to mention it later in the video but the US Marines involved in the do you Wana live forever story and the buffalo soldiers were all present for this as well. Different parts of the same battle but all there.
Saw them live in Copenhagen in 2020 and they played this song live. Goddamn, it's so good live. And then this year alone, I've seen them live 3 times and I met them after the last show I saw. They are so nice
Saw them live in the south of Sweden a few weeks ago. Great show. Man, I have missed concerts. I can give you the setlist from that show, I don't know if they will play the songs in the US
Hey. We met after the jinjer show in NOLA. I was actually in Lafayette Friday just for the day. Walked around the mall, went up to arnaudville to check on an old friend who has cancer, and eat some crawfish, went to UL campus to re-up my pj pants, saw 2 friends that work at the taco bell on Johnston. Suffice to say, we were busy, but grandma and I had fun.
Hey man, if you liked this song, the band 1914 did a song about this encirclement called Arrival. The Meuse-Argonne Offensive. It even includes the message that the pigeon managed to get out after falling from the sky twice before managing to fly out (with quite a few injuries).

Saw them a week ago in Sweden. Been a fan since -08/-09. Was awesome having them play a small stage infront 500ppl. Sadly the tank didnt fit on stage lol. Was an awesome show and got a pic from Tommy and shook Chris hand. Couldnt have been much better.
Before you listen to " the last stand" check the story behind about "the Stand of the Swiss Guard" then the song will be much better. Choose the official music video and put on the lyrics. Enjoy
Yeah, as others have said, there was a TV movie called "The Lost Battion" (ironic, huh?) from 2001 with Ricky Schroder as the commander of the battalion. It's really different from any other WWI film or story, as it all takes place up in some wooded hills. Totally different vibe than the striped of vegetation No Man's Land areas. I think they portray that supplies drop snafu as well. I think you might be able to find this film streaming on some platform. I remember seeing it somewhere.
I'm sure you're gonna enjoy the concert with them, and now I think it's my turn to maybe make you a bit jealous because I'm gonna see them this friday in Karlstad, Sweden. Yup May 6 and I can't wait. 😁 By the way that setlist request you had to Tommy why not ask him on his own channel here on youtube, 😁
You didn't find Sabaton until 2018? That's when I took a pause in buying their albums. I discovered them back during their debut record when they posted a few songs on MySpace. Yeah...that far back. They posted Primo Victoria and two others I think, but it was Primo that got repeated plays from me. Because when I first heard Joakim open up with the "Through the Gates of Hell...As we make our way to Heaven....Through the Nazi Lines....Primo Victoria" I knew I was hooked. Never heard anything so historical in a Metal song before that was so in your face ya know. Totally different vibe than say Iron Maiden or other bands that might dabble in historical events.
They managed to get their last pigeon through to tell them that they are shooting at them the bird lost a leg among other injuries but she got thru she is in one of the war museums
Cher Ami, the pigeon that ended up delivering the battalion's message lost a leg during the trip. I believe she is currently on display in the Smithsonian.
I was on their concert in their hometown, on their Swedish tour 1,5 week ago and it was my first time to see them live. It was so freaking amazing!! I just have to see them again!!
For anyone wanting a bit of perspective of things that take place around this. Immediately and I mean like the next day after they are rescued is when Alvin York earns his Medal of Honor Also I have that Bismarck Vinyl as well
The next sabaton You should listen to is “coat of arms” it’s about Όχι day and the Greek stand against the Italian invasion in World war 2. The song also has amazing instrumentals and a catchy chorus.
You ever think about compiling a list of songs you haven't listened to and then doing a live stream of you reacting to them? I know you do a lot as it is just a thought for a future project if you wanted to.
oh, drop Karan from Bloodywood and Troy from Nightwish with their Flutes and whistles there, and you have an Army behind, that´s going to conquer the land within a few days 🤣

Il be at the Houston show as well! It will be my first time seeing them live!
Quoting Sun Tzu in this reaction was certainly my highlight. Right after dropping musicians (or metal bands ) behind enemy lines from biplanes :)
