Very good video, The Sunlu and Elegoo 3.0 ABS Like resins. What profiles you use for those resins with this machine? I ordered one and will be here soon. Thank you!
I really do think it's worth trying if you were the resins with it because I'm sure it'll work like the other resins just work with it out of their box good idea I might actually try that
thanks for the video and the coupon code. Usually I NEVER buy the first run of anything (after being burned a couple of times). Swore I would never buy a pre-sale item again but I think I'm going to eat my words with the RS. I have the Saturn 3 Ultra but the RS has a lot to offer in regards to durability and user friendliness. I do have a question, is there a vent hole on this machine so people can hook up a vent fan to get rid of VOCs while printing? If not, is could a person drill a vent hole on the back left of the machine? I think that would be a great addition. It won't be the thing that stops me from buying the RS but I would prefer a vent hole. Any insight would be appreciated. Thanks again for the video.
I've had a look at the back of the machine and there is nothing there already but there is only plastic backing so you could quite easily create a hole in it to add extraction of your preference I do hope that helps you and if you do bite through my link you'll get the discount I appreciate your support

Thanks for the video! Scouting the 3D printing channels to find a potential replacement for my Anycubic 6K. The LCD screen broke and it looks like Anycubic doesn’t have them anymore… So, I’m looking for a good work-horse and I’m narrowing it down to the GK2, GK3 and the RS. Now they all look like great printers, all with different perks. I saw in a recent video you’re not considering to buy the GK3. You think you would feel the same way if you didn’t already own a GK2? Also, regarding the RS, please correct me if I’m wrong, but I understood you cannot tweak the settings for each resin in the RS slicer; you can only select a HeyGears resin preset that is close enough to the 3rd party resin you’re using. I understand the idea of proprietary resin but it is clear that you can still use other resins, so why not opening the system a bit more and expand their market? Having a proprietary resin system and allowing other resins does not have to be mutually exclusive in my opinion. Also, it would be great if we could choose which vat we want with the printer by default and pay the difference instead of having to buy an extra vat. In my case, the default vat would just sit in the shelf most of the time. Thanks in advance for your feedback and for all the content!
I would definitely consider buying a gk2 I think they're wonderful printers but my favourite is the RS without doubt and although you can't tweak the slice so that's absolutely true anything I've tried to print in the original and in this one has printed flawlessly and I've proved time and time again you do not need to use their own resins to get excellent results you really really don't I also agree they should have included the heated vat but they didn't and I kind of understand why but it would have been nice for us people in colder countries to get that it is a fantastic machine and I genuinely would consider buying
@@greedy3d480 Thanks for your feedback! I understand some people don't need an heated resin tank but an easy way to solve it would be to make it an option instead of an extra purchase. I mean, when you add the printer to your shopping cart, you should be able to select which resin tank you want. Just my two cents. Cheers!
@@JoanaBruno_art What would the difference be? They'd still charge you for the heated vat. That's the whole point, is it keeps the costs down for people who don't need it.
@@JohnVanderbeck It's great that those who don't need the heated tank can keep the costs down. HeyGears doesn't have a list on thier site of compatible resins. Which ones specifically work with the RS? I saw some info in the video, but even with a rewatch, i wasn't sure.
My video has the list which work in it it's about six resins in total... but it will also work with pretty much any resin on the market also I have not found a resin yet that doesn't produce excellent results with it
May wish to change your video as Heygears are not changing from dollars to pounds the exchange rate doesn’t apply hear sadly great video keep up the great work
I almost pulled the trigger on the Reflex then decided to wait when I saw the announcement of an upcoming release. Still working out whether this is for me.
Honestly I can't decide between the two but am heavily learning towards the original. I would really like that larger build volume, but will it really make a difference? Pretty much hands down everything else is better on the original. Which is fair considering the price difference. I also have a GKTwo so its not like I'd be out of options should I need a larger build volume, and I'll probably end up with a GKThree at some point anyway. So maybe I just answered my own question.
Why you didn’t mention the difference of the light power from the reflex and the RS? For example with the RS you don’t have the option to print with the clear resin because the light source is different
Fyi there is information in the video regarding a different light source check the comparison with the original ultracraft reflex side by side comparison
He did? I mean he didn't mention the light source as a direct reason but he properly listed that the RS is only compatible with SOME of the HG resins, and yes this is because the original has a dual wavelength UV system, whereas the RS is only 405nm which is what most other hobby printers use.
A couple of questions: are the vat screws captive to the vat, or fully removable like most other printers? I noticed they stayed with the vat when you removed it. Also, what's you take on the PRM? It doubles the price of the machine, and while I've seen some marketing about what it does, I have yet to see a reviewer take on the pros and cons. Last question (so far) is the vat large enough that scraping the resin off the top of the build plate will mean it all goes back in the vat if you're careful? Some printers are a bit tight on the measurments and there's a good change of spill.
Hi thank you for the questions the screws are not removable my personal view on the pulsing release module is I don't believe it's worth the money I've got one and I've used it and although it prints quicker and there are fewer supports I'm getting perfectly high quality results without asphalt dripping in yes you do have to be careful as it can overspill I'm waiting for someone to create something to hang the VAT after printing so that you don't need to scrape it
@@greedy3d480 Thank you Tony. That really helps my decision. It seems I can get the heated vat without the PRM and it will work fine. As for a printed hangar for the dripping, I figure something should appear soon. If not, I might have to make one myself.
