I don't put much stock in the head of the DCEU (or DCU now?) saying this movie is one of the best superhero movies he'd ever seen. I'm not saying he is right or wrong, just that he has such a strong motivation to say it is great that I can't rely on him to be an unbiased source.
I kind of think Gunn made that statement because A) he has an obviously massive financial stake in the movie being a success, and B) he was still high on his new position and was most likely stoked that this commercial wild card he has to deal with is actually better than some recent DCEU output (Black Adam, Shazam 2, etc).
I don't think there is any chance James Gunn is keeping any of this Snyderverse nonsense. Especially Ezra Miller. James is just playing ball until all of these leftovers are pumped out.
I’m inclined to agree
if you want film with Fan Service that feels earned, id say watch Across The Spiderverse. some really cool deep cuts when it comes to Spiderman lore and it doesn't distract from the story.
Absolutely
Seeing it tonight. Hoping it's good, but not expecting the greatest film in the genre.
Yep, it was good, but not great, as I expected. Certainly not the greatest. I think they went a little far with the hyperbole.
My friends are excited to see it, and the premise is just my sort of thing, but I can’t bring myself to see it, to mentally separate Ezra Miller from their work. For now, the reviews are enough for me.
What about the hundreds of people that have worked on it
Totally get it. Do what you gotta do.
@@jacksonh0989 Unfortunately, they’re not the person I’d be watching and listening to for two-plus hours.
@@jacksonh0989 That argument might work in a bubble but unless you see every single movie released in theaters your argument means you don't care about the people that worked on any movie you haven't seen.
Same. I’ll wait until I can get it at the library or otherwise watch it without supporting or encouraging Ezra.
This movie had some of the most abysmal VFX I've seen in my life. Like catastrophically, movie-ruiningly bad, I couldn't believe my eyes.
So it's good, but not as great as Tom Cruise, Stephen King & anyone tangentially connected to WB have been saying?! Not shocked that hardcore fanboys have flocked to give it a great RT audience rating (95% from just 50+ Verified Ratings vs 79% from 10,000+ All Audience Ratings) given its RT 70% critics rating (6.4/10) & MetaCritic 58/100 scores.
My fault for not staying away from the internet, but wasn’t that a bit spoilery in a read between the lines kinda way? Regardless, glad this helped temper my expectations!
I tried to be vague and only use stuff that could be derived from the trailer. Sorry if you found it a bit too spoilery.
The flash has fans to service?
Super pissed my boy Henry Cavill isn't included in this movie. He shot brand new footage but it was deleted
