Just understand exo did it first they didn't copy. From their debut they're unique. people copied (even their debut concept) and that became the pattern of every kpop boy group to succeed no one talked about that or opposed it(I think we exo-l's are generous) but now exo is just connecting they're own dots in their mv's people say that's copied.

i’m surprised some ARMY still don’t know who EXO is when majority of us fans do and others are either haters, anti-fans or newbies! If you don’t but you probably do, The current six members Suho, Baekhyun, Chen, Chanyeol, Kai and Sehun have made a group comeback before their leader Suho has to enlist at the end of the year following Baekhyun, Chen and Chanyeol enlistments sometime within next year. That leaves the two youngest members Kai & Sehun to work on duo and solo projects on top of kai being part of SuperM unless they decide to enlist early like their group member D.O did beginning of this past year. My biases are Kai, Baekhyun, Lay and Sehun but I love & support the whole 0T9 EXO group. The more I watch it, the concept and lyrics gives me lotto and monster era feels about a "Man's obsession with his lover"....especially in the beginning when it says "Oh I want you". After listening to the digital album, I was obsessed with it before it even came out and I couldn't wait. it's the title track of EXO's 6th album with the same name. This song brings trap bass blend with synthwave and jazzy accapella influences similar to their 2018 track "Tempo" with a vocal refrain running throughout the song. Lyric-wise it comes as a warning toward an ex-lover or friend, corrupt media, SAESANGS and Anti-fans to stay away avoiding entitlement which is a constant issue among the kpop community. The track was released with an MV that fits their album wide storyline as a whole, they are shown fighting Red Force clones of themselves (their innerselves) which don't seem to share the same superpowers as the members, let alone have the clones to respond back. *The only three actually fighting are Baekhyun, Chanyeol and Sehun but the other three aren't* Suho - Water Baekhyun - Light [Sun] Chen - Lightning Chanyeol - Fire [Phoenix] Kai - Teleportation Sehun - Wind There are nine members in total but three of them are absent right now.....Xiumin (oldest) and D.O are currently in military and Lay (only chinese member) is having to promote the group separately throughout his solo music because he is extremely person of China and loves his country along with his korean brothers EXO; so he has no choice but to put EXO second.

I don't think mama is like evil song when the lyrics talks about why people lost their humanity, and starts hating and doing what's society's need not what an actual human need and that's how the red forces shows, red forces are like bad inner of someone which they want to change.
Mama is one of a kind debute they were bold to try it especially with a concept intro like that! ❤ they took a risk and it was worth it..I heard mama is also a respectful way of addressing elders our boys have been humble kings since the beginning.. The concept behind this song is the 2 sides of exo. .The good exo (EXO) & The evil exo (X-EXO). . And the fight between the 2 sides. . Which explains the lyrics & their 2 different costumes in the video.
I think it's easy to get hung up on the "you lick around my ear" thing if you think it's a love song. It's not. There's no girl. It's two aspects of a person, the good and the evil, the human and the demon. Also, Suho (the one that seems to be floating and whose head is turned into stone) is the leader. The symbolism is heavy for those moments you pointed out. EXO have a concept of superpowers, and his power is water. This video shows a constant battle of a light (EXO)/dark (X-EXO) side. In his parts, yes, he is the savior, but he's also the devil. So he's drowning, but not in water because water is his element, so he's drowning in air. His counterattack for his dark side is to "drain" him, which is why his dark side turns into stone. But that actually causes a weakness in his "structure" and he cracks, revealing the monitoring and location of the others.

In our days its still 9 members, even though In the music video is just 6 it's because two of them, Do and xiumin are doing their military service and Lay is doing his solo in China promoting there and can't join exo because of his tight schedule between his solo career and acting and there also a conflict going on between the countries making it unable to Lay join the group. EXO still have a versatile discography though, so i hope you’ll find some other songs you’ll enjoy ^^ As for this song, it’s basically about fighting your own demons (in this case, the demons win at the end of the MV). And don’t worry if you make comparison between different groups. I think it’s normal comparing something new to something you already know, it happens in real life all the time. We get angry only if people are rude to the artists when expressing their opinions, but for what i've seen that isn’t the case with you so you’re totally cool! LOVE EXO. They're my favourite group. I tend to stan groups that have really powerful vocals, and exo delivers. All of them sing well and their main vocalists are honestly SO POWERFUL. my ears are blessed whenever i listen to a powerful exo ballad. Interesting how you mentioned the 'craziness' of hair colour and outfits. gotta agree that this era they kinda upped their ante. in between comebacks though they always go back to 'normal'? like between the last promotion and this one (it was about a year) they all had black/brown hair. and most of them also tend to keep their hair short, which is kinda rare in kpop? - they usually have the longish bangs and sides. but the exo members tend to keep the sides or hair in short in general. the members that tend to keep their hair long is baekhyun and chanyeol. i just know they're gonna dye their hair to black soon. I think kai just dyed his hair to black haha. this is my observation at least. Might be because they all do acting or simply because dark hair is easier to maintain. You'll know there's gonna be some content soon when one of them dyes their hair LOL.

EXO are absolute legends, icons. I love them so much. They aren't afraid to take risks with their music. A note: I think so many EXOLs are correcting things about their concept because immature toxic fans are known to take screenshots of YT videos to twitter and try to use it as "proof" of their hate and accusations of copying. It's a huge thing. Mature fans know better. 5:19 Suho is floating in the very background of the underwater destroyed city. I thought his water scenes were beyond beautiful. The Suho sculpture opening is to show a TV inside. Many theories on it but mine is to show how they as idols have to hide who they are and how they feel due to constant over attention and the way they are portrayed by the media. Being watched has been a constant theme in their MVs for years. As you can see behind Chen all the monitors. Same with Monster MV.

You'll be shock if you know about their concept. The theories is really mind-blowing and Lee Soo Man (SM founder and director) have a book that contains all of their discographies and theories since the start until the end of their stories. That means, all of EXO comeback in the past and future has been plan since a long time ago (few years before their debut). EXO never follow the trend, they stick to their concept and being original.

That leaves the two youngest members Kai & Sehun to work on duo and solo projects on top of kai being part of SuperM unless they decide to enlist early like their group member D.O did beginning of this past year. My biases are Kai, Baekhyun, Lay and Sehun but I love & support the whole 0T9 EXO group. The more I watch it, the concept and lyrics gives me lotto and monster era feels about a "Man's obsession with his lover"....especially in the beginning when it says "Oh I want you". After listening to the digital album, I was obsessed with it before it even came out and I couldn't wait. it's the title track of EXO's 6th album with the same name. This song brings trap bass blend with synthwave and jazzy accapella influences similar to their 2018 track "Tempo" with a vocal refrain running throughout the song. Lyric-wise it comes as a warning toward an ex-lover or friend, corrupt media, SAESANGS and Anti-fans to stay away avoiding entitlement which is a constant issue among the kpop community. The track was released with an MV that fits their album wide storyline as a whole, they are shown fighting Red Force clones of themselves (their innerselves) which don't seem to share the same superpowers as the members, let alone have the clones to respond back. *The only three actually fighting are Baekhyun, Chanyeol and Sehun but the other three aren't*

The concept behind this song is the 2 sides of exo. .The good exo (EXO) & The evil exo (X-EXO). . And the fight between the 2 sides. . Which explains the lyrics & their 2 different costumes in the video.
I think it's easy to get hung up on the "you lick around my ear" thing if you think it's a love song. It's not. There's no girl. It's two aspects of a person, the good and the evil, the human and the demon.
Also, Suho (the one that seems to be floating and whose head is turned into stone) is the leader. The symbolism is heavy for those moments you pointed out. EXO have a concept of superpowers, and his power is water. This video shows a constant battle of a light (EXO)/dark (X-EXO) side. In his parts, yes, he is the savior, but he's also the devil. So he's drowning, but not in water because water is his element, so he's drowning in air. His counterattack for his dark side is to "drain" him, which is why his dark side turns into stone. But that actually causes a weakness in his "structure" and he cracks, revealing the monitoring and location of the others.

There are only 6 members because two of the members, enlisted in the Military and Lay on the other hand is quite busy doing his own thing, though as far as I can remember he is still part of Exo, it's just that he's super busy with his own too.😘😍
In the beginning there were 12, they were divided into 2 sub units:
exo-K (Korean) - baekhyun, chanyeol, suho (leader), do, kai and sehun (maknae).
exo-m (Chinese) exo-m had 2 Korean members and 4 Chinese members - Chen and xiumin (Korean) and luhan, tao (maknae), Kris (leader) and lay (Chinese).
But 3 Chinese members left the group, Kris, luhan and tao so the two sub units became one and was called Exo with all of the 9 members left.
In our days its still 9 members, even though In the music video is just 6 it's because two of them, Do and xiumin are doing their military service and Lay is doing his solo in China promoting there and can't join exo because of his tight schedule between his solo career and acting and there also a conflict going on between the countries making it unable to Lay join the group.
Exo has the mystery concept, Mama their music video (Chinese and Korean version) you can see all of them has a superpower and all of their mvs are connected in some way.

And don’t worry if you make comparison between different groups. I think it’s normal comparing something new to something you already know, it happens in real life all the time. LOVE EXO. They're my favourite group. I tend to stan groups that have really powerful vocals, and exo delivers. All of them sing well and their main vocalists are honestly SO POWERFUL. my ears are blessed whenever i listen to a powerful exo ballad.
Interesting how you mentioned the 'craziness' of hair colour and outfits. gotta agree that this era they kinda upped their ante. in between comebacks though they always go back to 'normal'? like between the last promotion and this one (it was about a year) they all had black/brown hair. and most of them also tend to keep their hair short, which is kinda rare in kpop? - they usually have the longish bangs and sides. but the exo members tend to keep the sides or hair in short in general. the members that tend to keep their hair long is baekhyun and chanyeol. i just know they're gonna dye their hair to black soon. I think kai just dyed his hair to black haha. this is my observation at least. Might be because they all do acting or simply because dark hair is easier to maintain. You'll know there's gonna be some content soon when one of them dyes their hair LOL.

A note: I think so many EXOLs are correcting things about their concept because immature toxic fans are known to take screenshots of YT videos to twitter and try to use it as "proof" of their hate and accusations of copying. It's a huge thing. Mature fans know better.
5:19 Suho is floating in the very background of the underwater destroyed city. I thought his water scenes were beyond beautiful. The Suho sculpture opening is to show a TV inside. Many theories on it but mine is to show how they as idols have to hide who they are and how they feel due to constant over attention and the way they are portrayed by the media. Being watched has been a constant theme in their MVs for years. As you can see behind Chen all the monitors. Same with Monster MV.
