- In this weeks video we go through the RUT360 - a high quality 4G modem from Teltonika.
We show the contents of the box, how to set it all up and test the signal and range of the device.
This is a phenomenal modem with external Wi-Fi antennas, that create a strong signal with a wide range all through your house.
We go through our customers main questions about these devices and show you how to use them from the first time you switch them on.

Hi. Informative video showing real world use. Thanks.
I do have a question - Would it be possible to power this unit via a battery so it can be used more mobile. I do live streaming and it would be good to have something like this is areas whee signal isn't as good.
Hi. Yes, indeed there is a battery for Teltonika available, called the BAT120. It should keep the RUT360 up-and-running for quite some time.
You explaining good thanks you for helping the world but here i have a question for you what type of cable must i add if is shorter after i put out all 3meters stick the pole down in my room
We normally use CLF195 or equivalent for cable runs up to 5m. It's still a very flexible cable and losses, although there, are manageable.
Just watched this video. I am thinking of replacing a Nighthawk M2 with either a RUT360 or an RUTX 14. I have seen the RUTX14 on the Teltonika website and looks like it is a Cat 12 modem which I understand may deliver faster speed than the RUT360. I can't see the RUT14 on your website. Do you recommend it and sell it? What are the advantages of the RUTX14 over the RUT360?
Yes, I would recommend the X14 over the 360. However, if you are willing to spend that much money on a decent modem, the 5G model (the RUTX50) might be a better option. We don't list the X14 because for a small amount extra it makes more sense to get the 5G instead.
Goeie dag Cheesehead .... currently using a caravan system supplied by you, connecting to a tower some 32km away I'm getting approx 30mbs download speed, very happy with it. Even had one city-based guest claim it was a faster connection he had had at home, I suspect it had more to do with the available bandwidth that the outright speed.
I'm using a non-directional antenna, about 10 metres in the air what I'd like to know is how can we improve the connection? I know, I know, how long is a piece of string? Just in general terms would be great.
Goeiedag James ... you should get a significant improvement on gain and SNR using a directional antenna, such as the XPOL-2. We have it in a kit with 10m cable ( called the performance kit ) and that has been working really well for quite a lot of users.
Hi we are travelling up and down he NSW coast line. should my sim card be set to 4G (lte) , 3G or 4G or AUTO please?
Hi, the SIM-card can be set to AUTO. At the moment there are still some 3G areas left, but eventually it will only use 4G anyway, but if you keep it on AUTO you don't have to worry about the settings...the network will tell the modem what to do.
Hi I'm from the UK. I have a poynting mimo3 that I intend to install in my camper, I can't decided which router to go for either a rut360 or the 950. Which one would you say would out preform using my antenna. Thanks Darren
That's always a tricky question, as it depends on what you expect from the router. You'll have a slightly faster internet opportunity with the RUT360 ( it does Cat6 ) but when you don't need or can't get that type of internet speed anyway, both the RUT950 and the RUT360 would offer you the same service. For long-term proven robustness I would favour the RUT950 (or the newer RUT951) over the RUT360.
@@RFShop ah thanks your for your response really appreciate it. Will get a 950 on order.
@@greenerschannel sounds like a plan. If you can no longer get hold of the RUT950, the RUT951 is a new model. Same device, but different chipset.
Good Video, Question, how do you enable/setup Upnp on the RUT360? Thanks
Hi...let me refer to Teltonika on this one
hhow are things?,you shared fantastic , see u around,amigo.
Cheers :)
Have you seen any improvement in speed? I have the rut240 and it never goes above 20mbs down and never over 12mbs upload.
Hi Mike,
One would assume there are some incremental performance improvements on the RF front-end from the RUT240 to the RUT360, and the maximum possible speed is faster on the RUT360 compared to the RUT240.
However, these improvements may only be visible when you are in a situation where the network or signal is not restricted by network settings for your setup. I mean, if you are in a good signal area, but the network simply runs at certain speeds then the better performing RF front-end and the capability to go up to 300Mbps is not adding value. The difference may be noted when you are on the fringe or areas where signal is weak and that extra dB or two in performance gets you in better setup.
On the WiFi side of the unit though the MIMO WiFi will certainly make a big difference already.
You need Iskra P-60 MIMO 4G/5G/LTE/GSM connect antennas then you got speed
Not familiar with that antenna brand. In essence a good MIMO antenna is not hard if you have the right engineers working on it. We have Poynting Antennas and they offer great solutions for 4G, 5G and WiFi. They have presence in Europe, USA and all major markets in the world.
