I had a grand Cherokee with the same engine. The crank case position sensor kept going bad causing missing. Eventually it stopped running. Never threw a code for the sensor itself until it stopped. Might be called crank position sensor, it’s located on bell housing I think. Been a while back.

Yeah mine is a heat soak issue.
