    Making general gate, compressor, and EQ settings for a few recorded drum kit instruments (kick drum, snare, hat, floor tom). The recorded tracks are MP3 and played back one at a time while adjustments are being made.
    The settings/values used for the gate, compressor, and EQ, in this video, are generalized settings. In an actual live setup, the setting would be changed more to accommodate the player and the environment (assuming the noise level of the stage).

    Thanks for your videos. Always learn and enjoy your work. I have a question. My main main fader is so hot I always keep it way down on my Studiolive 64s . Main UV meters out barely show mix. Any suggestions?

      Thank you for your comment. From your description, it sounds like there is an issue with gain staging in the signal path. There are a lot of variables involved from the input point on a console all the way through to the speakers. Are the channel input levels within reason (no clipping/red indicators)? Does the issue occur when only one input is routed to the main mix? Are the input channels routed to a DCA (which may have its fader set way into the "+")? Is your console output connected directly into powered speakers...? If so, are the powered speakers turned all the way up?
      These are just some things to start checking.

    THANKS FOR THE INFO, MY CHURCH HAS THE SAME BOARD BUT TWO OF THE INDIVIDUAL CHANNELS HAVE LOCKED SYMBOLS ON THEM. HOW DO I REMOVE THIS/ UNLOCK THEM? THANKS

      The "locked" symbol indicates the current selected scene, on the console, has some channels that were set as "safe". Select the "scenes" button and then go to "scene safe". Any high-lighted channels you see are the "locked" channels. Just press these high-lighted channels to un-lock them... then save the scene. That should fix your problem.

    Hello there..my console has some of it's faders are not moving what might be the problem ?

    • @stageleftaudio
      @stageleftaudio  15 днів тому +1

      If the faders are not moving by themselves, when they should be moving, it probably could be the motor that drives that fader. It's unfortunate, but ALL consoles that have motorized faders, will eventually need a replacement of the motors.
      If the faders are not moving when you try to move them manually (this is highly unlikely), there could be something under the mixing surface that is stopping the faders from moving.

    Hello sir, did you ever used a plug-in effect on this mixer?

    • @stageleftaudio
      @stageleftaudio  8 місяців тому +1

      Not yet. For the shows we do, and that we only do live sound events, there has yet to be a need for us to use anything other than a basic reverb or delay.

    Hola bro, sabes como hacer el ruteo para usar Plugins de waves en la consola Presonus? Cómo se hace? Usas super rack performer?

      Hola. Lo siento. No sé acerca de los complementos de Waves ni cómo importarlos a una consola. Quizás quieras intentar buscar una respuesta en el foro de Presonus. O intente publicar su pregunta allí. ¡Espero que esto ayude!

    Sir Custom Model Subwoofer Speaker Or Any Other Company's Speaker Or Subwoofers.How Can I Used On Powersoft Amplifier.Please Let Me Know

    • @stageleftaudio
      @stageleftaudio  Рік тому +1

      There are way too many variables when trying to decide what speaker(s) go with a certain amplifier. You may want to post your question on an audio forum (instead of UA-cam). There are usually a lot more people involved with questions and answers on audio forums.

    Interesting video, but I don't feel the purpose of the gate is really demonstrated here because you're only looking at each drum input in isolation, so you never get to hear the drum channels cross talk, or picking up other stage noise - it might be possible to do with an unprocessed multi-track recording or virtual sound check, but this is probably best done with a real drummer who can show what happens when they play loudly or softly, and how that changes the way the processing sounds. A fair attempt at showing something that's really hard to teach, though - I haven't really seen anyone else attempt a video like this. Maybe you could develop this idea to show how you'd set up channels for other instruments?

      I completely agree with you. Setting gates with using a single audio source doesn't accomplish much. My intention was to show how a gate generally works and when to use more/less gating. Most certainly, doing this with an actual drum kit (and drummer) would have produced much better (and more life-like) results.
      At some point, I may work on a video covering the setup of other instruments; however, even then, I may need to use an actual band and musicians.
      Thanks for your comment.

      You're perfectly correct. Better done the drummer plays it live.

      The pad-lock icon shows that channel is locked when changing between scenes. Go into "Scene Safe"; you should see the input number that his locked as highlighted... To unlock, just press the input that his highlighted (within Scene Safe). The pad-lock icon should disappear..
