I got a camp spot you can join me!@@KayakDIY email Trip and get on the list. So you're covered. I'll be there all week, come in when you can, leave when you will!
Thanks! Do you go camping? I might do Rockadock this month in North Florida. Lots of campers and kayak/water enthusiasts will be meeting up in the natural springs.
I agree it is too infomercial feel. No doubt I get stuff sponsored just like the other UA-camrs doing truck camping vids. They hide it I don’t. I also share promo codes in video because I work hard to negotiate better discounts for my viewers. That too creates infomercial vibe. I am selective on what I put in my builds and vids. I seek out the companies I want. I don’t need the money since I own 3 businesses. I’m just excited about this stuff like a kid with new toy. Maybe I need to title it more as a review. Viewers get pissy when they expect adventure and see review/infomercial. I don’t want to deceive or clickbait anyone. Down for suggestions. May remove vid condense it down and re-edit. Seriously though I think every truck owner would love the convenience of this inflatable topper. I keep it on mostly. I run kayak rental business and it even allows me to ditch my kayak trailer and stuff more kayaks inside the bed….the topper kinda cradles the kayaks and protects back truck window from kayaks blowing it out. The other gear in video are bit more targeted to camping and adventure enthusiasts. I’m considering going to Trip Smith’s Rockadock paddle camp in North Florida so needed this setup. I hate tents since I usually arrive in afternoons during rain or it is too dark. Tents always are nightmare to pack up as well. Yet I hate campers since we lived in one after hurricane wiped out our home.
@@CosmicGlowUP yeah I finally got this newer truck after hurricane destroyed my last truck. Everything is so expensive these days. I justify it though because I also use truck for work.
I think it will be this one, but you can confirm by measuring your bed and comparing to the fit guide on the product page. alnk.to/1N2Wg7H It is definitely going to be either their Mid 5 or Mid 5x model. You can get the lower profile cap model or their higher topper model. I am very confident you will love it. I haven’t taken mine off and it survived 2 hurricanes as well!
Depends on car wash rules or staff. I don’t see why not. It survived hurricane Helene. We got hit hard enough that I had water hitting my house and flooding neighborhood. I never take the flated topper off!
Due to solar panel efficiencies the need to move the panels during the day to capture peak performance and the possibility of moving clouds. you'll need a lot more than 400 watts of solar. you'll probably need to bring a small gas generator (2000 watt). In theory it all sounds good, but in reality if you think you need 400 watts, you probably need 800 watts. When I had no power after Milton, I was using a 200w portable panel to charge my Bluetti AC 200 max. With good sun I was only bringing 80 watts peak.
With 80w solar input I’m fully covering the ICECO fridge consumption plus gaining charge. ICECO only draws when compressor runs. I can get by running 750wh a day for cooking via electric. Led lighting and cell phone charging are minimal. The ac I would probably run 250-500wh per day at night, but I could do without it. That cooling sleeping bag actually works quite well and consumes a lot less. Plus just dress for the weather.

I love this, but I can't figure out what size to order that will fit. I have a GMC Canyon..I think short bed?
