    Recipe:
    1/3 cup (80 ml) water
    1/4 cup (60 g) Swerve
    burner on medium high heat, whisk together until sweetener is dissolved
    when boiling
    2 heaping tbsp butter (32 grams) -- whisk in until butter breaks down
    let sauce continue to boil, whisk occasionally
    dark tan: cut off burner, remove pot
    pour caramel sauce into 3 8-oz. ramekins
    ramekins into dish with hot water
    2 large eggs + 1 large egg yolk
    whisk together
    preheat oven 350
    1 cup or 240 ml heavy cream to medium bowl
    1/3 cup (50 g) confectionerʻs swerve
    heaping tsp (6 g) vanilla extract
    whisk; then whisk in egg mixture
    transfer into more pourable cup
    pour into 3 ramekins
    bake flan 35-40 minutes
    outer ring is set, middle jiggly
    let it cool down in the dish
    knife around edge of ramekin
    flip onto plate

      What is the difference between swerve and erythritol? I'm trying this recipe now, but I don't think it's going to turn out quite right.

    My wife and I give this Flan recipe a side by side taste test against bakery purchased Flan. The flavor was indistinguishable from the store bought, the texture of this recipe was superior to the store bought. The store bought texture was less creamy and more eggy. Thanks for the guilt free Keto desert recipe.

    3 things I would change:
    - Passing the mixture through a sieve before transferring to the ramekins would greatly improve the texture
    - Buttering up the ramekins would make unmolding easier
    - Using a bamboo skewer to unmold it, instead of a knife, would cause less damage and make for a better presentation
    (EDIT: None of these additional steps are necessary. I'd suggest them to someone who wants to go 1 step further.)

    I loveeee flan, I’m Dominican and this is how we also put it in the oven, it’s called: baño de Maria. Beautiful texture, I bet it tastes delicious! Will try one of these days. 🙂 Thank you!

    Saw your post and realized why I hadn’t thought about making a keto version of flan. Flan is the most keto thing ever (minus the sugar). I just made it as a dessert for dinner today and couldn’t be more happy with the result. This recipe works, the measurement are right resulting in a sweet treat. Thanks so much !

      I’ve tried this recipe a number of times since I saw this on your channel. It’s amazing! Came to me at the perfect time. My wife and son have Nov Bday and I’m really envious they can have cake! I’m on a strict Keto diet. This recipe has gotten me through the sweet tooth gauntlet of Bdays. My only change of note is that i use brown sugar swirve for the caramel as we’ll as for the custard. Someone else, in the comments, said butter the ramekins and strain the custard before pouring both ideas Id recommend as well...if you want the smoothest texture possible. I can’t taste the difference but I could see it. Oh, I’ve tried monkfruit instead of swirve and it was horrible. Not sure why it tasted so horrid, maybe it’s just me. I’m sticking with brown sugar swirve and I can’t tell the difference between this and “regular “ flan. So, so good! TY

    Just made this in 2024. Excellent creamy mouth-feel besides tasting crazy delicious! So glad I found this recipe! It'll be my go-to when I want something rich, warm, and satisfying. I added cinnamon to the recipe because I knew it'd be great. It was!

    Joe. Flan and Creme Brulee are two different dishes. Flan uses whole eggs while creme brulee uses just yolks. The two dishes are also cooked differently. The flavor and texture are significantly different.

    Nice I’ve tried this recipe several times but the sugar in the caramel sauce become hard and crunchy after it get cool and flip the flan on a plate what do u think the reason

      @@redepatestodialo You can use powdered/confectioner's sweetener instead of granulated, because erythritol tends to recrystalize once it gets cold.

      @@redepatestodialo Then the only other way I know and use to improve texture is to replace water with heavy cream.
      If you want to go hardcore, you could always use allulose in place of erythritol...
      It behaves like sugar and has zero carbs, but it's quite expensive!

    Can the three individual servings be combined in to a single flan, say in a 6" baking dish?
    Could this be cooked in a pressure cooker, rather than a Bain Marie in the oven?

    Why not just say the quantities in grams? It's kinda confusing to see you weigh the ingredients on the scale and say it's 1 cup or 240 ml of heavy cream
