I used to wonder about the title, but I realized: the reason this is called “Marine Song 2001” is that it was what Kapp'n sang only in Animal Forest +, the 2001 GameCube port of the original N64 version. When the game was localized as Animal Crossing, they changed it for some reason. So when it was re-localized as Animal Forest e+, they made it a K.K. song.
I honestly regret not giving Animal Crossing a chance as a kid. I never had a GameCube, so I never got the original. I never knew Animal Crossing existed until New Leaf came out, and I still wasn't interested. I gave Wild World a chance about a year ago, and finally got New Horizons with the Switch I bought a month ago. I love it so much, and now I'm listening to songs like this and I feel like it should be incredibly nostalgic. It feels emotional for me even though I didn't grow up with this. It's a weird feeling.
Start of the game I remember with my first house one small room all basic wood DIY furniture watching my Nintendo switch pro controller's drift go off spinning my room around slowly as this song played. And honestly, I miss that I almost cried from it I dont know why.
I have this some playing on my plaza in acnh, its technically my first ac game but I did play the GameCube's but I was under five anyway I really love this song. I buy every song on sell and most of the time I don't really care for them at first then love them (kk surfen, kk groove, ect) but I fell for this at first listen. I love to just sit in my plaza listening to this.

I remember I played the original animal crossing only once, with my step brother, step sister and her boyfriend. I had just gotten off the train when I had to end for the night. I wanted to play more but my family didn’t think her boyfriend was very nice wich I understand but my step sister disagreed so she moved away with him and although some of us keep in touch with her we don’t know where she is now because she won’t tell anyone and I recently found out she is also probably doing drugs too … I really miss her 😢
