Practically every dem candidate looks progressive if you compare them to those from the 90's and earlier, but that is a low bar to reach. the overton window has shifted dramatically in the last 4 years thanks to progressives such as Bernie and to a lesser extent Warren as well. Biden has shifted to stay afloat because policy and social attitudes have shifted beyond what he has adopted during his career. I think they did this because Trump is the incumbent for the Republican Party, so he isn't running against anyone else in the primaries which was happening when this video came out. Biden was competing for the Democratic Party nomination, so they made this video for him as well as a video for the other Democrat nominees. Remember, this video came out in February of this year before Biden was the Democratic nominee.

Practically every dem candidate looks progressive if you compare them to those from the 90's and earlier, but that is a low bar to reach. the overton window has shifted dramatically in the last 4 years thanks to progressives such as Bernie and to a lesser extent Warren as well. Biden has shifted to stay afloat because policy and social attitudes have shifted beyond what he has adopted during his career. Let us not forget it is because of people like Biden that these huge structural changes need to take place, his philosophy and that of his ilk are why structural inequalities exist and survive.
