I enjoyed watching this. There is something about black and white films and photography that color films and photography cannot replicate. You can really see the art/film definition and dramatization. This was great.
I was raised in Colorado and tattoos weren't unheard of at that point but we are a sizable city and we had 3 shops. I am 44 years old now and i got my first tattoo at 13 on my friend's front porch. All i heard was how much I was gonna regret it. Now im covered from my throat to my toes and the only thing i regret is not having more skin to tattoo. Piercings really freaked people out when I got my septum piercing in 93, if i had a dollar for every inappropriate comment I heard from adult men I would be rich. I agree with Kim on the subject of lasers and tattoo removal, they are supposed to be forever. My tattoos are a part of me, they tell my story, where i have been, I wouldn't have them removed if I knew i would get rich from it!
Scotty Ferguson is an absolute legend and international icon. He is the epitome of a true gangster “ALLEGEDLY” but the nicest guy on the planet and as good a friend as any human could ask for, period. Proud to have known him for 25+ years. A true artist above and beyond just being a phenomenally skilled tattooist. Adventures, stories and memories that could fill a 20 book series that would never leave the best sellers top 5 list and would make an instant classic blockbuster movie. MLH&R sent to Scotty and the entire Helldorado Family!!!!
Thanks for the watching, Shane! Scotty has been a huge inspiration to me, and was my first interview. Pure class. I’ve been fortunate to get tattooed by him multiple times, and he was always incredible.
@ You would be hard pressed to find a more real human being on this planet than Scotty. Great first interview and definitely something you should be extremely proud of sir. You have gained a new follower and fan in me.
Came from WWYD after seeing a comment that you make tattoo subculture documentaries and was not disappointed at all. Subscribed and excited to dig in to the rest of your videos!
I used to work for Peter tattoo American tattoo for Larry. Ride on Colfax it was a trip to the first place I ever worked. I came from California to work at a shop in Littleton and ended up on East Colfax. Talk about a culture shock. I got robbed from my gear. Almost immediately the guy who robbed me took it to the next tattoo shop down the street and sold it to Brian at the other American tattoo shop. Just after I ordered all new stuff out of the national catalogue .Larry footed the bill for it. And then I got my stuff back. Now in debt For all the gear and a chrome .357 so I wouldn't get robbed again

Wow ! I got a few tattoos at Emporium back in 87-88 I was 17 . The shop was couple of blocks from East High . Cool little documentary. I want to say they had parrots maybe .
I got many tattoos at Peter Tat 2 shops in West Hempstead NY by Margurite & in Elmont by Richie Montgomery. I remember Richie Montgomery having a big pic of Pete Poulos sitting on his motorcycle with his 2 Dobermans that I'd stare at as I was getting tattooed, if memory serves me correctly. My grandfather RIP had a bunch of tattoos from Charlie Wagner who tattooed down in the Bowery up until the 50's. I only wish I was knowledgeable on the history of tattooing & knew of the significance of those tattoos that I would have photographed them & documented what he had. I know he had a dagger on his forearm that looked like it went in his skin & came out , along with a heart that said "mom" & a sailing ship. Great memories
@@talesofanasphaltjockey that’s incredible. There’s actually a local tattoo artist where I’m living whose first tattoo was from one of those west Hempstead shops. Scotty and Kim told me so many stories. It was incredible to learn all the history. I’ve also got a tattoo from Bill Jones flash, and if I’m mistaken he was one of the original Bowery boys. You know your stuff!
