- This is Part 1 of building my own offset smoker! This has been a real fun process and a ton of work. I learned a lot from watching @ChudsBbq building his reverse flow and following some really great builders on Instagram that you definitely need to be following! Let me know how I'm doing and what I can improve on!
You definitely need to be following these guys and seeing what awesome pits they are making!

Awesome project, go big or go home🔥👍
I always try to go as big as I can! haha Thanks for watching!
Off to a great start…looking forward to the rest of the project
Thank you! Part 2 is out now! Hopefully next week I'll have part 3 up! It's been a fun build!
It's coming along great!!!!! 🤩 👏 🔥
Thanks babe!!!
Awesome job.
If I could make a tip or two…
Slow down on your welding. And a small thing, line your seams up on the tubes. Make them all line up on the inside. It’s not much but I’ve been running a fab shop for 10 years and the small things make a difference.
Please any tips you can give I'll take! This is my first time ever doing something like this so I'm open to all tips and suggestions! Thanks for watching.
Good stuff. Gonna be the best BBQ you’ve ever had
Thank you! Man I'm excited for it! There's nothing like a real offset when it comes to bbq!
@@GorillaJoesBBQ hopefully it’s the “solution” to all your bbq needs. 😅😎
Getting a good start to it! Love the size of that pipe!
Thank you! I can't wait to fill it up with some meat when it's done!
Man Ive been looking for pipe for the past few weeks just like you this will be my first build and I will be doing it alone as well thanks for sharing
Hopefully me stumbling through this build will help you with yours! I'll hopefully have part 2 out next week and part 3 the week after that! Thanks for watching! Hope you find some pipe!
Awesome project keen to see it through to the end awesome work dude from Australia 🦘
Thank you! I'll have part 2 out soon! Got the door cut out and welded together, and got the base attached and stood it up! Real excited with how it's going!
I like how this is starting out. Good call on getting the warranty on the new tool. It will be a solid build. Cheers! 👍🏻👍🏻✌️
Thank you! It's been a lot of fun learning as I go and seeing it come together!
Dude metal fabrication is always enjoyable when building smokers and grills at least in my opinion keep up the great work cheers joe 🍻🍻
Thank you! I have been really enjoying the process! I just wish I had a chain hoist or something to help maneuver this GIANT pipe! ha
@@GorillaJoesBBQI don’t know how your finances are at the moment but harbor freight sells cherry pickers fairly cheap or see if you can borrow a tractor with front end loader cheers man 🍻
Or you can also use a floor jack with jack stands and blocks cut to fit to get it up of the ground don’t think it’ll get it as high as you need it but it’s a thought
@@Buzzdbbq56 thanks for the suggestions! I definitely was looking at the cherry pickers, but I found a solution talking with some pit builders on Instagram. It will be in my next video but I actually rolled the pipe over and build the stand upside down and attached it then rolled it over onto its feet haha.
So sweet!
Thank you!!!
Take a flappy disk to your soap stone and sharpen her up 👍🏻
And the journey begins Joe! Great start 🍻
Thank you! Part 2 coming next week!
🔥🔥🔥🔥
Thank you for your help!!
Nice build series you have going so far. I'm curious where did you find the 1/2 inch thick pipe?
Thanks for watching! I found a guy in Facebook who runs a demo company and he said they cut these out of a building they were demoing. He has a whole big property full of scrap, could spend all day finding good pieces ha.
I would of did all the prep outside first, then welded inside. Looking good though.
Yeah my garage is a real mess now 😂, I did have a big fan blowing me for the majority of the grinding/cutting but I just didn't want to try moving that pipe more than I had to. Thanks for watching!
That's a hefty pipe! Is it like a half-inch thick?
Yes sir! 1/2" and boy is it heavy 😂 next time when I try to find pipe I'll definitely look for thinner stuff! But it should hold heat great!
@GorillaJoesBBQ it will be an epic pit!
Cheers from Holland, where pipes that thick are nowhere to be found.
Also, propane tanks aren't a thing over here...
Offset smoker builds are really hard
