Unfortunately it was too late for that betta, but I learned to catch symptoms early and a year later I'm dealing with dropsy again 😢 it's been 3 days with this treatment and this betta's symptoms are still pronounced but he's eating normally, acting normal too. this is actually what we needed. I have watched so many videos but not showing the result. thank you sir! and also can you make a video of how to trear bloating goldfish? my fish starts swimming upside down. I even quarantine him for >6 days (feed him every 2 days with gel food) but still bloating

    • @ervinjons
      @ervinjons  2 роки тому +1

      I use the same method for bloat.. if bloating happens very often to your fish, i think you need to change your feeding habits and also the food.. try feeding your fish with sinking pellets, enough that the can consume in 15mins.. you can do small frequent feeding than feeding in bollus at once.. you also need to increase aeration as this increases dissolved oxygen.. reduce water current as this gives stress to our fish.. you can message me in fb if u want to discuss more about your fish problems.. :)

    I treated my 18-year-old goldfish for dropsy, though I wasn't really 100% sure that was the problem. Maybe the scales did stick out a tiny bit, but they don't now. It is still staying at the bottom of the tank, swims around for a few seconds a few times a day, it does eat, but there definitely is a problem with him. He is currently in a hospital tank, alone. If it ever did have dropsy, it most certainly no longer has it. I've been treating, as you do, with Epsom salt baths and the malachite bath dips. He has also been getting Metroplex and Kanaplex in the water every two days and mixed in with its food.
    What could it be and what else can I do for it? The large tank and hospital tank have no ammonia, nitrite, and very little nitrates, which go down with the weekly partial water change.
    Please help.
    thanks.

    • @ervinjons

      I hope im not too late.. in my own humble opinion, adding medicines, especially antibiotics, to fish food is not advisable unless specifically calculated.. doing so may damage the vital organs of our little fishes.. kidney damage shows dropsy manifestations..
      Going back to your concern, it is expected that the fish is still weak if it is in recovery stage.. but if the fish has recovered from dropsy, thats a bit of a problem.. try increasing aeration in your hospital tank.. use vitamins if u have access...

      Heres what i do with my tanks (not on free flowing or drip system):
      I do 25% water change twice or three times a week..
      Scrape the algea if needed to allow sunlight for the fish..
      I never clean tank, change water and clean sump all at the same time to preserve beneficial bacteria in the system.. i usually clean the sump a day or two after water change..

    I don't really do social media so I don't know whether the heart means you agree., or what? Some of my goldfish are over 17 years old, at least that's how long I've had them, I don't know how old they were when I got them. I need everything spelled out to me so that I know I am doing the right thing. Please let me know the answers to the questions below. Also, does one put anything in the general tank besides Cycle and Stress Coat, such as any sort of salt or additives? Thanks.

      Wow! Those fishes are old.. and in my opinion, you're doing good.. fishes wont survive that long if you did wrong..
      In my experience, im not using any water additives nor conditioner since i have a very nice source of water.. if tou have access to such additives and conditioners, might as well use it.. i would suggest continue what you are doing.. 17 years is not a typical life span of a goldfish.. i admire tour love and dedication taking good care of your goldfish.. salute!

    Hi. I only have Jungle Fungus Clear, but the directions say to leave it in the quarantine tank as opposed to a soak. Would you recommend just doing a higher concentration soak with it? And keep his quarantine tank with just conditioned clear tap water?

      As what i did, i preferred doing the high concentration soak to address immediate concerns such s bacteria and fungal growth although not recommended.. we'll only soak the fish for a short period of time.. such short period won't have significant negative effect to the fish..

    Hi, great video. Treating a goldfish from my pond with dropsy. How often do you do the salt bath? Just moved it to a recovery tank today. Noticed its not happy and not eating. It was still eating in pond. See how we go tomorrow.
    Also, my pond fish are not beading. Its funny cause my first pond was ignored, green water, no filter, heaps of plants though and babies galore. In this pond, the water is so clear and no babies. In saying this, i am also struggling to grown plants. Water is in spec.
    Any ideas?

      @@ervinjons any idea on why they are not breading? Is the water to clean?

    • @ervinjons
      @ervinjons  2 роки тому

      Usually they breed when theres a sudden change of temperature in the water.. at dawn, usually here in the philippines, where the water temp is lowest, they tend to spawn.. other than that, they need to be mature enough to breed.. maturity and conditioning plays a big factor in breeding..
