I was looking into doing this but not running the gears with no traffic just seems kind of bland. Maybe due to your lack of experience you left it in the same gear? Fastest ive ever drove a car was 150 in a Vette how fast was this?
Very nice video Austin, glad you had a great time. We agree about our camera system and are upgrading all of our cars to a new HD video system this year. So both camera shots of the driver and looking at the track will be in HD. We're also going to experiment with putting the track facing camera in the bumper to eliminate sun glare and get a cooler video look to it.
I knew how a manual transmission worked and what I'm supposed to do. This was the first time I had ever actually used one in a running driving vehicle.
hahah cool so you knew the principle but got to do first in nascar.. awesome actually!! I started thinking they gave you instructions over the radio how to shift or something.. coz nascar is not a regular manual car either and so many buttons n stuff
somebody put the steering wheel on that way on purpose the quick disconnect wouldn't work if it was truly "backwards" if the wheel was turned the other way the only thing that could drive it would be a T-REX
Just did the "12 lap" yesterday. It really isn't 12 laps, its only 10. they count your outlap and inlap. Very deceptive. I bought the video and when watching it, that's when i discovered it. Its not false advertising, but at best it is deceptive advertising. Last I checked, a "lap" at a Nascar race starts when the green flag flies, NOT when they start rolling down pit road.
I went to RUSTY WALLACE driving experience today, Exciting begin sad ending. they made a mistake put photo camera SD card into Video Machine, so that Fail to record the whole track, just get refund of video recording,15%photo discount. Not satisfied with how they figure out the problem..If I have second chance, won't choose them again
sorry late reply, I left about 12-1pm, I dont know anything about the red flag. But yah the video pointing me was my GoPro, forward facing was theirs...not the best quality.

I did this today at the Milwaukee Mile. It was really fun and would love to do it again. I have never driven a manual transmission either.

steering wheel backwards?
wait so you were already strapped in and didn't know manual, so how did you get the hint of it and start and drive the car??

I too received this as a gift and am scheduled to go next month. I also have never driven manual. We're you able to figure it out relatively quickly?
why is the steering wheel on like that
The steering wheel doesn't move in or out so for taller drivers with longer arm's they need one that is further away.
somebody put the steering wheel on that way on purpose
the quick disconnect wouldn't work if it was truly "backwards"

Do they have cars that the door opens or do you have to crawl in these, want to take my dad and have him do this
Tony Detrick None of these cars have doors. They're all real Nascar vehicles.

Can't believe the people that can't drive stick
Not everybody gets a chance to drive a manual transmission day in and day out.

Zeming Lu saw this happen twice yesterday.
Where? I guess they don't have SD card for video any more just try to figure it out in this way!
Zeming Lu I was at RIchmond. They used a thumb drive with a proprietary file system on it. You can convert the file into an mp4.
