    Love this series! Thanks for sharing all those knowledge. It really helps. However I really hope you guys could make a series about effects, reverb delays and so. :)

    these videos are NO1 tutorial in worship genre,but JAMES pls hear us crying that the most important part is EFFECT, because that's what really make worship songs different ,but what you show in this last video is too quick for us to understand the details. so pls upload some more videos for REV and DELAY, we are crying for that , may you hear our voice, GOD BLESS

    You didn't use Gate on the key?
    Does have to be necessary or its optional?

    About the EFFECTS,you add DRUM ROOM REV to all the channel except KICK OUT,and BASS AMP,BASS DI.......then you do the same add another HALL REV.......at last you add a DELAY only to the LEAD VOC..........am I right..........how about the amount of rev, how much is enough, also on delay how much is just fit......these details is so important to us new guy.......wish you can help........that would really help a lot of people

    I can't help to notice you have some extremely low signal level. I normally leave -6-12db headroom when recording. Is there any benefit from this?

    • @AngelAngelesIII
      @AngelAngelesIII 8 років тому

      I think it's because he's running it through usb. If there's live instruments there the levels would be higher.

    I am mixing on two sets of speakers, Rockit 5s and Yamaha 5s. When I play a commercial song and listen on both sets of speakers, there is a change in the sound, but they both sound equally good. When I am playing my mixes on them, the difference is major. Good on the Rockits but not on the Yamahas. What can I do to help get my mixes to sound equally good on both sets. Thanks MM

      In my opinion, I think most of the complete tracks went through Proffesional post production and mastering to ensure they sounds good on most of the speakers. While in a live situation, you would not be able to go through so many process.
      Maybe you could tune both of the speakers to sounds similar in order to solve the problem. :)

      +Евгений Чекулаев Panning isn't really used in live mixing situations... Imagine panning something hard left, anybody in the far right corner of the room would not hear anything!

    • @hans-martinbasmoen9633
      @hans-martinbasmoen9633 8 років тому +3

      It is quite normal to pan in live mixing situations. You just don't pan it too much. I use to split the stage on the middle, and pan everyone on the left side a bit more to the left, and everyone on the right side a bit more to the right. This makes the band feel more real, and just not through the speakers, it creates more depth. And also, stereo instruments like background music, keys etc. you always pans right and left. You don't need to pan it all the way, but you absolutely should pan it a bit. Again it creates more depth in the sound. :-)

    The sound of these strings is too bad to be mixed to be honest.
    and for the piano part at the end I like to make them dreamy and full of delays and stuff :D

      there probably sampled in a daw played then exported lol
      that would be cool for the pianos tho :D
