Greetings from a 4th generation American Finn (and rail enthusiast) in the Pacific Northwest of the USA! I was just wondering if what is seen in 3:23 to 3:33 of having so many of the prime mover engine/equipment access doors open while in motion is standard practice for that particular class of locomotive, or is it just something that particular operating crew did/does for these units?
Greetings! It was very hot weather on that day and crew opened access doors to get extra ventilation for the engines. Sometimes it isn't enough and locos overheat and stall with heavy trains.
Kiitos! 😊
Hienoa 😌

It's rather rare to see and only on those rare really hot days here.
