On the Vartius line (Kontiomäki-Vartius) there is only occasional timber trains to/from Ypykkävaara and Arola stations but no regular traffic in Vartius (only some work trains and inspection runs at most). On the Oulu-Kontiomäki section there is of course freight traffic, mainly timber, but also weekly LNG-tanker to/from Talvivaara and weekly Fenniarail service to/from Patokangas. Of course in Oulu you can also see freight traffic on the other lines as well
if you are asking asking about freght trains, then yes there are freight trains running in oulu and kainuu area and between oulu and kontiomäki, but no trains are operarted between kontiomäki and vartius anymore.

@@MarSen1294 Thank you for watching! The only ore train of some sort we still have here is nickel ore train running from Kemi to Tampere two times per week. It transports nickel consentrate from Kevitsa mine to Harjavalta. We also have no more mixed freight train between Joensuu and Oulu because of the war since no Russian wagons come from Niirala border station.
