Make sure to always trade with people that have 5 stars or at least 4 ! I've never been scammed yet but if I were I'd still rate them 1 star cause 1 bad review on my profile won't mean shit as long as people are aware.
"revenge" reviews are not allowed on nookazon and you can report them on discord and have them removed from your profile if it ever happens

This was back at the start of lockdown when I would use nookazon every single day to buy and sell. So, I was scrolling nookazon to catch scammers selling Raymond and I found one who kept demanding real money and once I would leave a review telling people that they are a scammer and reported them, they would create another nookazon account. I would find them again and they would ask for real money and I would report them again. This went on for ages until a mod contacted me and wanted to know if I had proof so they could document it
(I had many screen shots of the conversations). Whilst I was talking to a mod my notifications were going crazy! When I tell you this person was a hacker and left over 300, 1 star reviews on my nookazon page from random fake accounts!😱 It took over an hour and a few mods to take the reviews down because the more they deleted them, the more the hacker would add! In the end I just had to stop reporting him because nookazon mods didn’t know what to do! 😂😂😂

okay so,,,,, this story really interested me and i have no life so i decided to make a spam bot and try it myself. i made a bot (just a basic one using python.) and a new nookazon account, then spammed the account with false reviews. its unbelievably easy, and as far as i know theres no way to prevent someone from attacking ur account.
tldr: nookazons security sucks, and all it takes to mess up ur accounts reputation is a 13 y/o with a bit of coding knowledge and way too much time on their hands
once i got scammed out of 50 nmt for dom and i have a clip of it and honestly when it happened i didn’t know if i should’ve been pressed or if i should continue laughing that someone genuinely scammed me on f*cking animal crossing

TBH, the biggest scam in Nookazon is when the item is way overpriced and not worth it, or when they offer you not even half of the original price :) also, when they list something and never accept it :)
i find that nookazon generally is overpriced anyway lmaooo. but you're so right!
bruuuh not on nookazon itself but in the discord server, i was asking people if i could catalog the diner set in yellow. someone DM'd me and said they had every color of the diner set besides a few pieces (i think the diner sign in yellow was what they were missing??) and they let me catalog them for I think 4 or 5 NMT. Everythingggg. So I posted again and said I needed to catalog the diner sign (and i was looking for some other items, the pinball machine, to do a cute 90s diner) and someone DM'd me saying they'd let me catalog the singular sign and 2 pinball machines for 10 NMT.

i swear there was a FAKE art listing and i offered like half the person’s wishlist and it had some rare items and then they said it’s too low and if i could throw in an additional 15NMT ?!!?!? or mush diys??? for fake art??
honestly i also think some (seasonal) diys are overpriced too, you can find them easily yourself especially with time travel (ik some people dont like it and i used to never tt)

Yeah, the seasonal DIYs are easy to get if you TT enough, besides the blasted cherry blossom ones. Even then, you can get them with enough hard work and stress.

I hate the type of people when you decline their trade and they be like "EVERYTHING WAS GOING WELL BUT THE PERSON DECLINED. DO NOT RECOMMEND " and when the person did that to me I was like bish u okay?
Yeah, I've had (overall mostly good) but a few so-so experiences on Nookazon - nothing really bad but just minor things like me re-ordering an item for someone and then them not showing up or messaging me back explaining why. I didn't leave any review because I just thought, well, everyone has off days, maybe there's some extenuating circumstances I don't know about....
scammers are bad, but i think stingy people are worse. remember during cherry blossom/spring season how unless you basically gave up everything you owned you couldn’t even get a cherry blossom diy? 😭

SO, I was being nice to this one girl and I gave her permission to come to my island and my island is very precious to me so it was hard to just let people run through it... But she LITERALLY stole a DIY Recipe from my beach & still to this day, I am gutted because I will never know what that DIY was, or if I needed it. Ugh, why am I always so nice to people lol

@@RedRenee4Nice! Also I suggest using Nook Market for actual trade since it's a much less toxic base than Nookazon. I'm interested if you could catch spammers on there since it would be a bit harder. Possibly the auctions on there could be a good target as well.
You should try trading villagers, it seems more likely to be scammed that way. Especially when it comes to popular ones like Raymond!

So I got scammed?
My sister tried getting Raymond through nookazon and he wasn’t even on the traders island! Insisted my sister give her the bells and nook miles tickets first. She switched on the map to know where Raymond lived and realised Raymond wasn’t on the island. Player then hit minus and kicked my sister off the island keeping what she had payed and she had a five star review?!?!

I think they don’t scam you because they see your island and how beautiful it is and how much time you put into it and chicken out because at that point it’s like scamming royalty

Thankfully I haven’t really run into a scammer, although I’ve run into one, they said they forgot to bring the bells and that they would go to their island and get their bells, then return with the same dodo code, never heard from them again. This was incredibly entertaining! Also the editing is very good, I really hope you get the subscribers you deserve soon!
Oh and another thing, I would love to fund this series if you’re interested, and yes this is totally gonna sound like a scam, but I would love to give you some bells since you’re sacrificing your own, so my nookazon account is ZzZz and I have a trash can as my pfp (again, yes I know this sounds very suspicious, sorry XD)

I’ve been scammed so many times that it isn’t even funny anymore.
Once a seller came onto my island and I even let them go into the shops, but the item they gave me was the wrong color! I even tried contacting them and they ignored me.
Another time a touch trader came and switch the color of the items around. I didn’t know until I went into my house to hang it up again.

Same thing happened to me. I wanted the white panel but they gave me the light grey one... Easy mistake to make, so I left it 😭. Still haven't found a white panel though, which I need to finish my bathroom 😂

I was actually almost a victim of a scammer.
One time I was on Nookazon trading Marshal and someone (scammer) Offered me more than what I wanted, of course I accepted it and I messaged them.
Thing is, I'm not really comfortable going first when it comes to selling villagers, so I said to them "Is it okay if I show you their house from the outside, you pay and you can invite them?" They never responded to me after that. Later, I started looking at their reviews, that's when it hit me.
They had really bad reviews such as: "They invited Marina to their island and never payed" and so on. I quickly declined the trade, blocked them, and left a bad review for the future.

When i use nookazon I try to not trade with anyone that has less than 5 stars, and absolutely not with anyone who has 0 ratings. To potentially avoid trying to be scammed.
I'm okay with it being like a new account, if it's not too much value. They gotta get ratings somehow. But even so, I almost got scammed by a 5 star with >60 reviews, doing my first high cost trade. Just because they are 5 star doesn't mean they won't try it. Maybe it was because I only had 11, 5 stars at the time and they figured I wouldn't be believed if I retaliated. After all, who would you believe? The 60 5 stars with some high value items or the 11 5 stars with only low value items.

I have 232 reviews on there and they’re all 5 stars and I’m happy about it, probably makes me lame but I really enjoy nookazon lol 💜 There are some scammers but not many at all tbh, reviews are usually accurate in my experience with people on there, but I don’t trade with people with really bad reviews. I will trade with people with no reviews just because I remember being new and being scared no one would trade with me lol

If you realize at any point during a trade you are being scammed, or see the leaving screen before the trade is fulfilled, exit to your home screen and close the AC application immediately, it will disconnect you and you will restart the game with all your items. Hope this helps.

The thing great about how to deal with scams is either way if they end the session or they go home you can turn off your device and it cuts both of you off sending you back with the items you had 🤣
You should make a video explaining what to avoid to avoid being scammed, so that newer Nookazon goers can be aware! Considering you’ve had this experience I think you’d be the best person to make a video on!!

I make quite a large amount of trades and have never really got scammed ^^ i think the most scams happend on NMT trades (bells for tickets).

My first time getting scammed:
Now I was new to Nookazon, and someone was selling Marina for a million bells. I of course bought her, not knowing that ratings existed. Now, If I had bought a villager before I would have known better, since the seller usually takes you to the said villagers home and allows you to drop the items there. But here, I was fenced in the entrance. I dropped the items and was instantly kicked out. I’ve never been scammed since and I learned to check reviews. Making sure there are many 5 star reviews under their name. I sure learned my lesson lol.
Random trading tips-
-Make sure you check that reviews on scammers profiles are verified cause someone else could just be messing with you, especially if a price seems too good or too high
-if you put items on beaches that you don’t want people to get to and you’ve fenced off the beach from land, don’t forget that people can jump off the little dock that the airport is on, into the water and swim to the beaches to take your items (and yes they can still leave even if they’re trapped, they just need to press the minus button I believe and leave the island)
-if you do still get scammed, just turn off your switch as soon as possible because the internet will go out for you, disconnect the other person, and cause the game to go back to the last save (presumably to before you got scammed, so your items are still there)
-if you go to and island and know that the person is a scammer, you can invite a friend to talk to a villager or keep their inventory open while you ransack the scammers island (I’d highly recommend *not* doing that though)

Pumpkins are kind of good money in a pinch & you can buy a stack of pumpkin starts - make sure they grow triples and then replant those.

Overall, a lot of people in nookazon are really patient and nice. Sure, a lot of seasonal items and moon diy recipes are overpriced, but it’s great for inspiration and talking to real people in a virtual wprld

I like to think that the people who had bad reviews but were not scammers had a change of heart and decided to be honest and learned their lesson
So I wanted to get the song k.k. metal, so this person was accepting wishlist items for the song, so I offered an outdoor TABLE, so it was like 5 MINUTES before school starts, so I had to rush, so then they wanted it to be a blue outdoor table, then my dumb self gave him a red outdoor BENCH, so then I gave him 4 customizable kits, then I had to rush because it was like 2 minutes before school, so he said “Disappointed :/“ “I cancelled my trade with a person with the real item” So I said “You can have it back then, please I really need to go!” He didn’t take it back because it’s too late now, it will appear in my catalog so then I ran to my desk to get to class, then in my switch I disconnected since the internet was far from my desk (i had another one near my desk but I connected to the one in my living room) Then I got sad because I scammed someone without even knowing, I checked my inventory to see if I had the song or not since I disconnected, I unfortunately still had the song, then he said this on nookazon chat (I copied and pasted it): “I am a very nice and patient person....my reviews will show that.....but this is not only the wrong color but it’s also the wrong item. It’s a bench, not an outdoor table. I’m not sure if you are a kid and just don’t understand the importance of offering the correct item or what. But I am building my catalog of all colors of all items and this was a huge waste of my time. The is the worst trade I’ve ever made. I don’t mean to sound rude or mean but this is very disappointing.”

I think the first "Scammer" Might have been scammed themselves, and it might have been a person using several of their accounts to scam them. Their English didn't appear to be the best, which is reasonable- learning a second language is HARD- especially when it's the second hardest language to learn, so maybe it was a translation error, or a miscommunication, if it was real. Either way, they seemed nice enough. Good video!
Don’t forget to turn off your switch while your on the scammer’s island. That way you don’t lose anything

QUICK TIP FOR IF YOU GET SCAMMED BY SOMEONE WHO TELLS YOU TO DROP FIRST
If you drop it and they take it, Immediately leaving or kicking you off of their island, quickly turn your switch to sleep mode for 5+ seconds. This will boot you from the island without saving, meaning you’ll get your items back.

The true scammer was yourself, scamming 200k from your own bank account for a moms plushie hahaha.
I got one-stared by someone because I completed the offer after they took forever to respond and they realized they still wanted what they offered for. Gave them the benefit of the doubt and waited for two hours before I ended it yet again and gave them a bad review back.
Sucks though because they were my only review. But then again if anyone looks at the review then they’ll see that they kinda screwed me over since it literally says “I still want ___” with no legitimate negativity LOL.
I’ve used nookazon a tonne and I’ve been lucky to avoid scammers so far! Thank you for this anyway, because it is easy to get used to the nice people on the site to be lulled into a false sense of security

They barely had any flowers like- is it THAT hard?” I trampled their flowers :) and they told me to get out but on my way out, I noticed a couple of diys laying around. I took them.

When I was trading Audie for some fruit, the person who came over didn't realize they didn't have a free plot and they felt so sad they couldn't get her. They said I could keep the fruit, so I felt guilty about that and asked them if they wanted any Amiibo based villager. They asked for Marshal and a few days later they were happy as they left with him.
That wasn't even a scam it was a mistake by the other person...and I still felt bad/guilty.

A pattern I see In these people is that they ask after The trade to Like be friends or Take a tour of your island and I think that it's because they are either not trying to seem sketchy or try to get a 5 star review out of you Because there are other reviews are so bad. Idk lol That's what's happened to me a few times I've had a sketchy trade and then they immediately asked to look at my island or be friends with me so idk
When I toured a scammer they picked all my flowers, and even got one of my boxed villagers to move to there island!
