Chris was not casted or offered a role at first. He went there to be auditioned on his own because he respected Bong. The only problem was he was too muscular.
Im not surprised. I can see chris being brushed off first, just that he looks very frat boyish, known more for his face/body. But damn this man can act and is serious aboit being a good actor.
I am really happy that Chris is getting the respect he deserves, he is a great actor. Ever since I seen Sunshine I thought this guy was pretty good. It's nice to see he is doing interesting projects and not just action movies.
goma3 I agree! He gave a great performance. I really can't imagine anyone else as Curtis.

trha2222 yes he was Mace. One of his best.

trha2222 I said one of :)) I haven't seen FF4 yet so I can't really say, but to be honest I think Johny Storm is practically Chris Evans in real life so i would not say it's his best :))

trha2222 I've seen Human Torch cuts from the movie and decide not to see the whole movie based on its IMDb score (sorry I'm a sucker for IMDb). Many people say that he resembles the character, too. Come on, I said I can't really say anything about the character. If you think it's his best, then it is for you. We all have opinions and that's not a problem.
i adore chris evans who is one of my favorite actors and he is very underrated which is why he should be getting more serious and prominent roles. he is so humble and awesome person. he has molded so well with this role and he embodies cap psychically and mentally. his views of life are so interesting and insightful.
BatmanFANizationReborn He is underrated. Right now the Marvel films take up a considerable amount of time. But they are giving him more exposure and therefore opening more doors. I really hope to see him a play a Bad Guy or a period film soon...
what I liked about the film is the realization of hope. it doesnt give the "oh, good guys in trouble but we all now hes gonna live", no, the good guys die, sometimes you dont know if when or how or if at all. its really a change from the cliche norm :)
Chris Evans transformed himself into the character, a new character too, like Tilda. I saw the movie posters many times, and I still did not recognise him. Great job!
Incredible movie. A masterpiece. Bong Joon Ho deserves all the accolades. And that part with Luke Pasqualino taking down the giant guy was so badass 👌🏻👏🏻💫
The director said he had to use bulkier clothing, lighting, and camera angles to make Chris Evans appear less buff because he had to maintain this physique for Winter Soldier and Avengers 2
This movie is so good! I feel kinda stupid though because I thought the guy that made the doors and his daughter were Japanese, only when I found out that the director is Korean (South Korea is best Korea!) and that the actors are Korean as well I realized they were speaking Korean! Damn I am dumb! Still, the movie was really great!
lol u aren't dumb, u just didn't know! how would anyone not familiar with those languages be able to tell the difference? though they are pretty popular and well-known languages so... meh
i think that Snowpiercer got so little coverage in North America and Europe because it is technically a Korean movie, directed by a South Korean even though most of the movie is in English. because of this production note, there was never a lot of craze around it in primarily English speaking countries since it wasn’t being produced in one.
"On 9 November 2012, The Weinstein Company acquired the distribution rights to Snowpiercer from CJ Entertainment, based on the script and some completed footage, with a plan for wide release in North America, as well as throughout the United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand and South Africa. It was released in the United States on 27 June 2014 in just eight theaters in selected cities. This delay was caused by Harvey Weinstein, an owner of The Weinstein Company, requesting 20 minutes of footage be edited and opening and closing monologues be added, but Bong declined. In response, a Free Snowpiercer petition campaign demanding the director's cut of the film to be released in the US was created by cinematic activist Denise Heard-Bashur. Eventually Bong succeeded in getting the film released in an uncut form; however the film switched distributors to Radius-TWC, which meant the film only received a limited release in art house cinemas.” en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Snowpiercer#US_release_controversy There’s your reason and good riddance Harvey.
This is his best movie yet, with the one he directed coming a close second. He really needs to get out of blockbusters, he's wasting time, he needs to go low budget, independent, drama roles. He shines best there.
The movie is amazing and really underrated. Snowpiercer deserves more attention around it. Director ah I adore him now for Parasites and Snowpiercer. There's a lot of thoughts and ideas you should think and think and discuss about. Incredible just incredible
Just watched this movie and I am excited and impressed! I need to get some of it out with this comment :D I thought the movie was brilliant. I loved the mix of ingridients that was so delightfully odd, but worked so well. For me it felt like Howl's Moving Castle meets The Hunger Games in a post-apoc. setting. Second movie directed by Bong Joon-ho, that left a very good impression, although Memories of Murder remains my favourite and I highly recommend it!
Didn't want to watch at first, thought the premise and plot is ridiculous but if you watch without over analyzing the scientific probability of a mystical train then it's a really good movie, exciting action flick, great acting. Hell, even Chris Evans brought his A game. I usually cringe at his delivery but he was in top form in this movie. May have helped that he was acting with great cinema and stage veterans.
Only discovered this movie after the success of Parasite. It was never released in Britain. Great sci fi action movie that has something to say about class division and society.
hello! I really like this interview and I am wondering if I can move it to Chinese website bilibili and add Chinese subtitles? I will indicate the author and your UA-cam address. Thank you! 💕
some of the shit in this movie can be hard to watch for certain people...but "harmful for your soul" not really... i'm glad that I watched this one netflix so i was able to pause every so often to kind of process what was going on.
And now the director of this film is the first Korean director to win best picture
Wish chris evans got a taste of that too. Snowpiercer was great, no accloades for him though
Chris was not casted or offered a role at first. He went there to be auditioned on his own because he respected Bong. The only problem was he was too muscular.

@@skdavidnba you should see defending jacob on apple+, he is very good in it
bong explains how the casting director recommended him, and an indie movie he was in.
@@skdavidnba ikr... his role in knives out was so good... you wouldnt expect he would be bad, because of his frat boyish face..

Fantastic movie! I just saw it today.
They didnt even market this movie with director bong’s name. Now every movie he makes after Parasite would be just “A FILM BY BONG JOON HO”
Such an intense movie!!! EVERYONE should see this at some point. Chilling to the bone. What would you do for survival?
Lol is he on the set of captian america wen hes doing the interview lol He has a buzz cut in snowpiercer and he has caps hair in this
RJ. Or he might’ve been playing Cap at the time. That doesn’t mean he was on that set
Fun fact nobody knows... this is a Korean movie.
+ninearthify
Blew my mind when I found that out!
Mladen Bukvic
Why is it awful?
Mladen Bukvic
Its Korean not chinese.
Can't tell the difference between Korea and China?
You are surely uneducated.
I think we all know it

This is a dark and difficult movie to watch. But very well done and Chris evans did such an excellent job in it.
This interview was obviously taken after filming was over right? Cause he obviously looks like he's already prepping for the Winter Soldier.
Johnny Utah Movies that finishing filming usually release a year later. You cant forget about post production, sound mixing, editing, etc.

chris is too humble... i love him...
I just watched this today and it's honestly one of my new all time favorites. So edgy and bold plus talented and good looking actors (Chris Evans)
the ending totally caught me off guard, not what i expected but so good!

I mean it's understandable
His captain america role sure is iconic, imho The best of chris evans proved in this movie....
Iv been watching Korean films for about 15 years now, they are the masters of gritty drama and horror

He is a great actor
This movie is so awesome
I have seen this and I didn't even realize that Chris was in it...
He is really good at being the character, so you don't actually see him.
Ikr... such an underrated movie!!... the Oscars really dont have eyes in picking movies.
wow Chris looks really tired
+RenaissanceMan1993 Hard worker. Most people do not realize how hard it is to make a great movie and this one is great.

It’s the sequel to Willy Wonka!
My Top 3 Chris Evans' Best Roles
1st Captain America/Steve Rogers
2nd Curtis Everett
3rd Human Torch/Johnny Storm
Just completed snow piercer , prolly u guys must watch the series💙 A frozen planet and a war to survive.
So different. I think he looks more honest with beard, and a little jerky without :))

Captain "Chris Evans" America will return in Avengers 4.
Admit it snowpiercer is the sequel of willywonka and the chocolate factory
If the train crashes the people in the front die first and everyone in the back have the largest chance of servicial
am I the only one who disagree on what Curtis did? -..-
Captain America!
Pretty sure Chris had this interview while filming for Captain America or Avengers. Otherwise he won't be this clean shaved 😅
i was lke ice ice babay
the theme of the story is same like PARASITE , that won best picture for Oscar.. class disparity , gap between rich and poor, chaos for survival.
then was likedaddy you dont even know me that way
true was just like ant him o take me int0 a bthorrm and spank me
It ruined my psychology. The movie is harmful to your soul. There's more than just a violence... please, don't watch. Do your spirit a favor.
Maybe you should go visit a psychologist instead of trying to convince people not to watch this good movie.
