I really like the fact you mentioned having a personal business plan. Most agents don't see this as a business. I've been licensed a little over 2 years and I spent the first year taking a lot of classes because my first brokerage offered NO training and was angry that I was paying someone else for training. Basically her model is swim or sink! I left and went to the wrong KW office. Last year I switched to an ebroker, no overhead fees. I'm working with clients, mostly buyers and haven't closed many deals. I've heard of eXp and thinking of moving so I can have more support and ability to build a team. Everything now is solo and it's very hard working alone and trying to build a sustainable real estate business.

Join Keller Williams, that way down the road you'll end up with eXp as a default and you won't have to move again, they at KW are all going eXp some day.

I was in network marketing/ MLM for a few years and was successful in my opinion, however after all of it and knowing the true structure from the inside - I am 100% against MLM.. Like I tell my team members, that can't be the forefront of your business. Its 100% about selling real estate in my court. The revenue sharing is an added bonus. Recruiting is not what we show up to do everyday. So I guess I'm saying, it depends on what you make it.
All contracts, buyers reps, listing agreements, referral agreements, are with the broker. Most companies have these in their contracts. A client of mine is a client for life. One can try to take my database but they will never have my clients. I uploaded a video in the past discussing what you should and shouldn't have at the brokers possession.

Yeah I mean if that's all it is, eXp offers the same thing as far as mentorship and virtual office, classes, and all that. The only thing it sounds like you'll be missing is the stock options, revenue share, and possibly a few systems. I mean if you feel confident about this person and you want to work with them, you can join them and always leave if it doesn't work out.

Digitalbumpin no my results aren’t typical for most agents anywhere. My downline consists of 6 agents. All of which work directly on my team. I’m an agent before anything else. If agents come to eXp simply trying to build a downline then they should just quit real estate and sell fitness shakes.

Hello there! I am considering joining a team at my current brokerage, Basically, the only benefit of this team is that they will provide leads generated through Zillow - about 2 per week. I have held my license for over 15 years, so I'm not new to the rodeo; however, my past business has been concentrated on family and friends. I have only recently decided to go full force and make a name for myself. I would really appreciate your input on common practices regarding team splits and business that I generate through my own efforts. Thanks much!
Every team is different so there's no standard it just depends on what the team offers you. For instance, my team has a higher split but you get more than just leads. So it just depends.

Yeah I rent an office for my team and I. To be honest, I've been having my own office outside of the brokerage for a while now. Even before I left.
