If you get all your starmie exs and greninja line, you should definitely go for Mewtwo to get articuno ex
This is exactly what I’m doing, so far just 1 Starmie ex and no staryu or greninja

Got Starmie EX, Greninja and Articuno EX...best deck in my opinion. Love playing online with that big water deck energy.
Long as you know what you want to play it’s not too difficult. I wanted Mewtwo from the beginning so I obviously started with that until I had the deck built. Now I’m pulling in Char to try and bling out my Sabrina’s. Char has a lot of cards in it that I wouldn’t be upset to find, like ex egg, star, molt, nd char, special meowth would also be neat. It really does seem to have some of the better overall pool imo after you’re done building your initial deck.

Not sure I agree with Charizard for new players, it’d be my last pick.
I think Mewtwo supports the most competitive decks (Venasaur, Weezing/Poison, Dragonite, Mewtwo, Articuno, Gengar)
Pikachu can make some rock solid electric decks. Pikachu EX doesn’t require many other rare cards to play. Also the aggro electric lets you beat those bots quickly!Charizard requires Moltress to work; though I will admit Starme is real good.
Idk if it’s possible, but I really hope the meta stays this way upon global release
One thing that kind of doesn’t matter imo is competitive viability. There is no ranked system or solid meta so I don’t want to only make a recommendation based on “meta” decks.
All that being said I think all the packs are strong choices and if you like those cards in Mewtwo then go for it ✌🏼✌🏼🤠🤠
@@lukewatson4489 I don't regret opening Mewtwo first. I've got a competitive deck in Mewtwo gardy, I have 4 Gengar ex (smfh) and good stuff like Pidgeot and frosmoth to help other decks.

That's false and completely disregard every other card in the pack except Zard/Tres. Charizard pack has the most viable decks, including the most budget and f2p friendly deck, AND the best supporters in the game.
This content is never B tier. At least A+ tier.
Loving all the content
I've been trying to make original decks, but it's really difficult to challenge the popular decks. Mewtwo ex, Articuno ex and Zapdos ex are super common and busted, and it has been tough trying to match those with anything else
its ok, original or homebrew decks are supposed to be for fun and creativity. Ive been playing tcg my entire life and I never expect my original deck to compete with top tier deck, just have fun and play on casual mode
my general strategy was "open until the risk of duplicate is too high" for a new player a pack like pikachu have some real eh cards, it is hard to use arcanine, and jigglytuff well sometimes, and they dont help as much in the Ai battles, which is another important point, have the "key card" of some decks, let you rent them, that makes your life easier against the AI challenges so you can get those hourglasses faster, some key cards are trainers like blaine and koga, and others are the EXs like venasaur and blastoise
Don't forget Haymaker
A basic with 30 damage for 1 energy punching away as you set up your bench pokemon

same man, i’ve been opening charizard packs to get alakazam and have gotten everyone but him 😭
I would focus on the ex cards you need for decks you are interested in. And ignore trainers. They are just two diamond cards, so as long as you don't necessarily need the full art version of the supporters, hunting down the ex cards will probably save you the most time to get to your competitive deck. I really want Zard, so I might go for that. But if I had to recommend one, I would say Mewtwo. The Mewtwo+Guardi decks are not only good, they also only have one EX Card in it (two copies), as most other top decks (thus far) need 2 EX cards (pika+zapdos, starmie+articuno, zard+moltres). Plus you also get a chance at all expensive cards for the weezing+Dnite deck as well as the venusaur deck (requiring 0 vs 1 ex card respectively!)
They are successful in simplifying the game. I do hope they can add in some more effects to increase the game dynamic as long as they dont make it too complicated like YGO Duel Links. Love all the artworks!! I literally scream when I got the eevee art!!!
I am going hard on Mewtwo but will splash Zard for Sabrina.
A deck I thought of not sure if you have tried is 2 pikachu 2 volt orb 2 magnetite 2 raichu 2 electrode 2 magneton 2 pokeball 2 oak 2 lt surge 1 Sabrina 1 x speed. Hopefully you get electrode for early damage while magneton builds energy to surge to raichu for end game.

I have been focusing on Pikachu packs to build Electric Aggro. I have 1 Pikachu ex and 2 Zappados ex. The deck isn’t perfect yet but doing pretty well for a F2P account.
I went for Charizard pack n I don't regret it.

You should try out a rogue deck I've been playing that's kinda good depending on matchup and also has no ex.
2 of each, beedrill line, caterpie, Sabrina, pokeball, oak, Erica, potion, red card.
You only need 3 energy to fuel the entire deck including retreats!
youve GOTTA try greninja/dragonite(i tried with pidgeot as well but it wasnt as consistent as without it and dbling up on dragonite/greninja line)

Its tragic. I was heavily considering a Starmie/Pidgeot deck. But i hold a deep affinity towards Dragonite. That being said i mostly feel i resonate with the Pika packs. And would be much happier all around getting anything from there. It just leaves me wondering a plan of action. Do i reroll for Starmie, throw some cash as the Pika packs and slowly use the dailies to try and snipe dnite and pidgeot?
The issue about Charizard is Charmeleon, I have not seen a charmeleon in 5+ resets of pure charizard packs... what is the real drop rate of that card 0.0001%?
As someone who went full charizard EX, I wish I went mewtwo instead but if you do go charizard you really need moltres EX to pair it with

im f2p so i cant get em all. that said, maybe im just lucky, but i dont think pulling ex is too hard and those are the ones you want. for example, i have 2 arktos ex, 2 mewtwo ex and 2 venusaur ex, but no bulbasaur or ivysaur. theyre all in the same pack. i can craft or later trade them so im moving on to the next pack instead of pulling for the low rarity cards i missed

Fire only has to worry about water 🌊 types, it doesn't have to worry about Pikachu, Venusaur.

Not familiar with TCG. Are the cards in this game identical to TCG or are they different? Also, is it possible for patches that change the balance of cards?
The ex cards in Pocket are adjusted to be lower power compared to how they are in the TCG, and the general card design is closer to the early years of the TCG with touches of modern philosophies. As for patches, nobody knows for sure, but seeing as this is digital only, it's possible they can ala Hearthstone as an example

@vladimiralvarenga9144 so a couple things. 1, there is a way to spend money using VPN. Gotta look it up though, and gotta be careful as that is easier to track and get banned.
And 2, nobody can say if it's for whales or not because they front loaded the rewards like all gacha and the game just started. The test will be next expansion. If they do events and release multiple sources of free resources, ok. Friendly game. If not, nope it's for whales. Gotta wait and see
I was planning to go for the Pikachu deck when the game officially releases because Arcanine is one of my favourite pokemon... but the Charizard deck seems to fun. Gonna have to figure this dilemma out before the game comes out 😅
