WOOOOOOOOOW!!! Cool review Chris! Thank you!
Cool gadgets and always honest reviews! Great job. Keep it up
Thanks for watching!
Great video Chris! If I had a boat I would definitely consider getting one.
Very cool video mate! I’m enjoying the Chasing Dory, it does have some limitations but it is a perfect starter drone for underwater enthusiasts 💦
I am a backer and have suggested that they make a connector that would allow 2 ( or more) tethers together so the user could have more length.
I've also suggested an attachment point for a safety line ( fishing line) on the buoy. That would be handy if you were in a location where you could not get down to the water, like on a pier.
Yes that would be great
Hello, do they sale 2 connectors now to make the length longer ?
This is pretty cool drone.
Nice one
Thanks! i like it but i dont see any area where i can have a use of this
My brain is still working and I've come up with an idea for a safety line to the buoy. Tie a short piece of fishing line, 30# or so, to the buoy end connector or the tether itself and make a loop in the free end. Now get a Cuban Reel ( available online for under $5) and attach about 20 meters of line on it with a snap swivel at the end so you can attach it to the loop. Now you have a safety line for the buoy and a tangle free place to store the tether.
Great idea!
@@Techtablets and how far can the buoy be from the smartphone controlling it? 50 meters?
Just saw this on Kickstarter.
I get over 2 hours on mine because I stalk fish slowly or just lie in wait . There is no ROV that can chase a fish down. Go slow and give the fish time to et used to it. I do have he controller (same as the Gladius Mini) which is easier than the touch screen control. I tried to get shots of a mother and her calf today, but they were not sure about it and left the area. I'm not sure if it was the Dory or other boaters that came by that caused teme to move ; anyway I did not chase them. I do agree about the tether length and asked Chasing to consider making a tether connector so two tethers could be joined together. If they dis we would have to remember not to exceed the max depth of 15 meters.
Thanks for the post, yes A bit more line length for getting right out to areas would be perfect or a connection to pair two like you say.
HEY I JUST WANT TO REQUEST A VIDEO TO REVIEW THE LAPTOP FEEDME S3M. ITS A CHINESE LAPTOP
Can you please review Xiaomi Redmi Mi 9T Pro/K20 Pro? There are many reviews but I wanna have your detailed review. It really matters to me. Thanks.
Can this be controlled with one of those Bluetooth game controllers? Because I don’t think I would like using the virtual sticks on the screen.
The review made me wish it's available here in my country :envy noises:
Buy an adsl modem set and get 2k range, need something like a PI on the ROV though
explain
yes good Dory :)
Thanks Chris, for yet another interesting review, of some great underwater drone, for what it seems! Can't wait for the "Ulefone" replicas of 250 € start showing up, with detachable tethers, malfunctioning (due to poor quality control / rushed copy replica methods) and People losing them at an 10 or 20 meters bottom, sea bed... Keep up the good work Chris!
Oh, like 71! The year I was born. :p
Can Dory be use in a river effectively?
Yes if the current isn't strong
Look awesome but I don't trust any kickstarts anymore. So many stolen funds and products not delivered with money never refunded. Do yourself a favor people, wait until there is a finished product for sale before you part with any of your money.
Awesome review tho. Thank you, Double T.
but have faith in these kinds of products that they already succeed in sending some products to youtubers to test. And be aware that this project had a successful project before.
The DORY is out Now at $499 USD with a 16 Gb SD card, 1080p video from the 1-2.9 CMOS sensor w/ an F 1.6, 100* FOV and 50 foot tether to the buoy. I use an iPad mini w/ mine
@@UnboxingChina All of those kick-start projects have prototypes sent to influencer's but many, sadly, end up going nowhere. Basically they use influencer's to rake in cash from the hype. I completely trust Tech Tablets tho. Seems like an honest guy.
@@AboveandBeyondGlobalDrones Also, you would think for that price they would at least offer 64GB of storage bare minimum. 16GB gets eaten up in a matter of minutes.
@@Del-Canada > Actually 1080p does not use up the Storage space within the 1 Hour dive time - in my personal experience with the Dory.
Go the expat kiwi!
And this cable? kkkkkkkk
me: omg so cool i want that! *looks at price* yea ok im going to save up for a long time
would be nice to have lovely clear sea nearby - the water near me is like turd soup.
That's a shame. I'm lucky it's normally clear here
8GB ?! Jeez, even the iPhone 11 offers 64GB as a starting option nowadays. Come on.... :)
It actually came out w/ a 16 Gb SD card for the 1080p video so it's not bad for the 60 min. Dive time.
uh-oh...something new for the guvmint to regulate the fun out of.Look forward to the formation of the new arm of the FAA...the ANA..The Aquatic Navigation Association. New rules and regulations will be forthcoming...did I mention proficiency testing and depth restrictions....recurring registration fees and individual transponders...oh yessssss...
hmm it says drone in the name I bet this thing will be banned by the EU XD
Maybe not since it's water only. But they are crazy with restrictions on drones in the EU so could happen
