I have lived in Baja California since 2004 in Tijuana, Playas, Baja Malibu and many other places. For the past three years I call Mission Del Mar 2 A few miles from the coast south of Rosarito. I love Mexico and the Mexican people. I could not afford to live in the USA so living in Baja California is a blessing.
So many people are in the same situation. Thank you for loving Mexico and my people
Awesome! I have a lot in Mision Del Mar 2 as well. I’m hoping to start building in the next year or so
Im from Sinaloa living in USA 🇺🇸 for 45 years I’m ready to go back n enjoy my country my cousins lives there she is from Mexico and I want to go rent and care for my cousin pay for a good specialist for her n share my stay with her . Much love from Az .
She is a beautiful person, and what a wonderful life she’s living. I’m so sorry that her husband passed and for her loss.
I live in a very rural area that is laid back and on the “mañana” schedule. I have to call to have propane delivered for my stove. Services are limited as are grocery and shopping options. The difference is it’s expensive to live here. I am considering Mexico in retirement.
I grew up frequently crossing the border from Texas to Mexico and back. I love the culture and strong family ties. I wish I would have learned Spanish as a child as my siblings did, but I’m willing to learn now.
Thank you for this video.
You can do it ☺️
I don't no about them borders town, it can get a little crazy and rough there. I would rather move more inland to a quit town or at least and upscale neighborhood in the border.
@@slowmojo9355 yes. I still live near the border in a different area than where I grew up, and there are few issues, but I’m not moving to a border town. I was reminiscing about my upbringing. Thanks.
Hello .....I have a house for sale incase your interested its in Ensenada in the area of San Carlos
Very down to earth chat. I love your attitude and the information you shared. Thank you!
So sorry for your loss. Thank you for sharing. I'm also moving from Los Angeles. I fell in love with Mexico and the culture.
I absolutely loved your video about yourself and Rosarito. Your home is beautiful. Yes I agree 💯 percent it's important to move to Mexico with a open mind and learn the culture and language. My biggest adjustment was getting use to "mañana" it can mean tomorrow or one or two weeks later. Don't stress and expect things to happen immediately. I live in Playas de Tijuana and my neighbors are Mexican. I feel safe and I just use common sense. There are no expats in my Privada. My neighbors are so helpful and we have a WhatsApp group. I am still taking Spanish classes and slowly progressing. Once I am better communicating I would like to give back by volunteering with the dog shelters.
I guess the culture is somehow here in San Diego too, I was told I’ll see you next week, 3 weeks ago and hopefully, cross my fingers , he will come to fix the AC this Monday 😂
Yes, the workers is from that country .
Congratulations great attitude.
@@mimi1o8 well I'm afraid that he forgot about the AC by now☹️
I live in Rosarito and I would love to work with you teaching Spanish to americans. I am from Mexico city and lived after 21 in San Diego too and lived there for 25 years. We have many similarities and I love your video, maybe we can work together or exchange some ideas..
Good video. Rosarito seems the best of both worlds. Good weather, good standard of living, etc.
Couldn't agree more!
I am a single woman looking to move down to Ensenada or north of there and this video is very informative. Thank you very much. I intend on getting involved with the culture. I am working on my Spanish right now. Maybe one day I will see you there. You seem like the type of woman I would be friends with. My only concern is the actual travel, as I am hauling my travel trailer.
Welcome to the Mexican Dream 🇲🇽
Thank you for your video. As a bicultural “ Mexican American “ like you I can vouch for the truthfulness of your words. I’m married to a Mexican national that I met in California 40 years ago. We still speak only Spanish at home and with our adult children and their families. We have been planning on a move to Mexico for retirement only to be sidelined by Covid-19. Your experience has only encouraged me to continue with our plan. Gracias y amor agape.
Much appreciated wisdom.
My sympathy for your loss
I am turning 60 soon. I was not raised with guidance and directions but I finally opened eyes when I was in my late 40's. I am paying the price for that now. I want to retire now. but I did not prepare. I have just a good job. I am going to try to get my dual citizenship. I will have SS but it wont be much but I am going to start my research. I am tired of living check to check. Thank you.
You're not alone. Many people are in your shoes so def consider crunching your numbers and seeing if you can make it work. Especially since you have the ability to become a dual citizen
Great Video…. Thank You for sharing your story and giving great advice
It’s appreciated.
MRG, you did it again! Congratulations!
Gracias Wilfredo!
Love your video and Rosarito. I lived in Playa Tijuana and made fun trips to your community and Puerto Nuevo. The grilled lobster is rico! Now I live in Cancun. It's as nice as Puerto Vallarta was. I am really Mexican, I just happen to be born in Alabama. Welcome back home. ☺
Excellent video! Thank you!
Erendira, very nice video and introduction to my grandparent's homeland, Mexico. Thank you.
I currently live about 70 miles due east of Los Angeles.
Same here. I’m in the IE and my parents took us down for vacations and I fell in love, as an adult I’ve taken my wife down multiple times and she calls it her happy place. We are currently looking for a vacation property that will serve as our retirement home and we can afford to retire early there, something we could not do here.
¡Bendiciones!
Muchísimas gracias. Thanks dear. Great video.
Super video! I loved your statement about giving once you are part of the community. We think that is vital to a full life and to being part of something greater than yourself. My wife and I bought at Punta Azul. We are happily out of San Diego and California in a few more years. We will hope to see you around town.
So great! Rosarito Dios te Bendiga

Another very informative video.
Erendira is very helpful :)
Loved your video.
Great video. Thank you 🙏
Glad it was helpful!
You're an AMAZING and INSPIRATIONAL Lady dear Erendira. I'm so sad to hear and I earnestly send you my deepest sympathies on the irreparable loss of your dear husband, losing a loved one can be so hard but strong-willed and determined people like you can forge ahead and live the good life. I'm in Querétaro, and the reason why homes here have Tinacos on their rooftops, is to compensate the water pressure, at first it seemed weird but you get used to it and besides the CEA has recently improved water pressure so we no longer need a water pump, and yes every place is different. I have family in Aguascalientes and the reason they have tinacos on their homes is to have a ready supply of cold water, depending on where you live in that locality, the water gushes out from boiling hot to mildly hot. Thank you for sharing, 👍and greetings 👋from Querétaro. 🤠
Ahh, Mexico. The true land of the free...
Muito útil o seu depoimento.
This was another great video of an expat living in Mexico!
She is a great person! And has a lot of good tips:)

I love Erendira's message and energy! Her message is balanced with optimism and a healthy dose of reality for relocating to Mexico. Thank you for sharing this video. :)
She’s the real deal and such an amazing inspiration
Wonderful story...do you all have information on the learning Spanish course? I'm looking for a immersion experience in northern Baja.
Great video. We have had a condo in Bajamar for 12 years. We are still working but we are there almost every weekend. My wife is a California Registered Immigration Consultant....helping Mexicans thru the immigration process. You described Mexico ...the positives and negitives perfectly. We love living in Mexico.
I am retired & am trying to move to 🇲🇽. I would so much like to get involved with orphanages. I'm half MX. I am learning Spanish. VIVA MX!
Is there a bus from Rosarito to a Mall in San Diego? Have learned its necessary for Mexico car insurance AND US car insurance. For border crossing.
hi I want to know how much did it cost to build your home ..how many years do u have in Rosarito b.c.
I'm so sorry for your loss
Thank you for the important information
Me uviera gustado tenerlo en español también 😘
Hi. Are there any other locations in Mexico, especially in the highlands, where the weather is cool and mild all year long similar to the climate in Rosarito?
Check out this post mexicorelocationguide.com/best-highland-cities-to-retire/
Amiga ahí en rosarito es muy caro la renta digamos apt I habitación cuánto puede valer y también ahí cuántos grados de calor es muy caliente rosarito. Me gustó su video cuídese gracias
No es cara si buscas en Los lugares adecuados
Can I ask how much I need to make a year to have a good life in Rosarito if I don’t own any property there?
It’s hard to say because it depends on your lifestyle
However, many of our viewers based on their lifestyle could have a comfortable life on $1500 usd a month
It just depends what kind of place you rent, where you do your shopping and that kind of thing
Thank you so much. I love it. Get busy living or get busy dying! Learn how to work to live instead of living to work I agree.
Yes yes yes 🙌🏼
BETTER MOVE TO MEXICO SOON...MY BEAUTIFUL COUNTRY....RELAXING AND LIVING THE REAL LIFE...
I went to Huatulco Oaxaca instead, life there is so much more relaxing. No security issues
Great video. I would love to know someone like you to learn Spanish and the ropes to getting passports, Visas etc. have you thought about teaching Spanish on UA-cam? The ones living in Mexico have an advantage of being submerged in the culture and language. So if you have a bank in Mexico, why do you travel to the U.S. to pull out money? What do you do for drinking water? Do you have washer and dryer? Do all your kids live in the US? What is an estimate of what it cost to buy land and have a home built? With all the Americans and others moving to Mexico, do you see the cost of living rising. I would hate to see the locals priced out of their city/town.
These are great questions! Sounds like you would benefit from a private relocation tour. If you’d like to have a private tour with her you would first have to purchase our México Relocation Guide

I love Rosarito ❤
Rosarito is fine, but not the best location. Often, they have marine layers that come in from the ocean, so you cannot even see the ocean mornings and it's a bit inconvenient, because it is a bit remote. I prefer further South in Mexico. For that area, Ensenada is a more complete town, but it doesn't compare with Puerto Vallarta or perhaps anywhere in the tropical or volcanic belt across Mexico. There's a big cost-of-living benefit to living South of the border and I like the family culture in Mexico, too.
Hello any advice for a retired black female looking to move to Mexico from Florida
Yes- do it sooner! 😀
They have ma y expats from the USA all over Mexico , look at you tube for black expats their many expat living at playa Del Carmen , ajijic, especially Merida

Are there good rental communities in Rosarito
There are rentals in Rosarito for sure but they’re not all in one place or a community. They are throughout Rosarito
It's happened to Mexicans many just live in Mexican communities even when they are living here their whole life. I've been living in both countries and there are many things in common. We are adopting the same type of food. If you goo the IHOP in US and Mexico the serve the same food the same if you go to California, Samborns, Tox etc. If you go to a American restaurant you always will be find in the menu a Mexican dish, nachos, fresh salsa.
It must help a lot that you have Mexican background and fluent in Spanish. I'm also a Hispanic who was born in the US grew up (Florida and Kentucky). I'm looking to take advantage of that myself in retirement and enjoy the quality of retired life that's not as attainable in the US.
It certainly helps when you understand Spanish, or latin traditions and culture. It helps you adapt a bit faster
HI

PLEASE LET ME NO. 🙏

😊 THANKS
She is in Rosarito- close to the Tijuana Border in Baja California
When I seen your image without watching the video and said that lady is a school teacher, Mam I want to move to Rosarito, my rent is going up from 900 to 1400, on the new years, could I please beg your help with a website lead to a rental management company? I would be very grateful, all I'm finding is middle man brokers, looking for a one room app for around $600mnth,
Thank you.. Cheers and best wishes..
Me I need help
First you need to see if you meet the requirements for residency through "Economic Solvency". Check the Websites or email most any Mexican Consulate if it's not listed. They all have different requirements hovering around $2400.00us to $2700.00+us per month income for a Temporary Resident Visa. You should get an 180 day Tourist Visa if you've never been here before, to see if you like it the area(s) you are thinking of moving to. Every place has a little different vibe. It's definitely not for everyone. BTW-McAllen Consulate in Texas has/had? lower requirements than most Consulates, but that could change. Buena suerte!
@@davidsebastianelli1326 thank you so much
McAllen is no longer the lowest income requirements that has changed as of August 2022

Beautiful experience and advise. Just one suggestion. You may want to use the term people from the United States instead of referring to them as "Americans" because that's a wrongful appropriation of that word by the people of the United States of America. Americans are ALL of us from Alaska to the Patagonia. BTW, México's legal name is Estados Unidos Mexicanos and none refers to us as people from the United States of Mexico. Just a comment to improve justice for all. Be well and enjoy living in Mexico.
Cierto
I had a home next to Puerto Nuevo for over 14 years up until 2007. The drug trade started to negatively affect the quality of life for the many gringos and Mexicans. Many gringo neighbors couldn't afford rising prices and increased theft. Alcoholism was rampant, bored gringos (most who didn't speak Spanish) just hung out at home and in bars. I bailed and moved to Costa Rica for quite a few years. Much nicer and a government that educates and takes care of their citizens and visitors. But, to each his own, many gringos can't handle living too far from the states.
Costa Rica is insanely expensive and their residency process isn’t very simple either
Every country has its pros and cons
Check real estate prices between Tijuana and Ensenada, and compare to better Costa Rica beach prices. As well, the Costa Rican police aren't in a constant shake-down mode whether transit, state, or federal. And drug dealers go to PRISON, they don't control law enforcement. Mexico is NOT safe anymore, check with the USA State Dept.
That’s ok- you don’t have to like it here. Mexico isn’t for everyone
But everyone who is here , knows that the above is entirely made up from watching the news and not actual life 😀
How old you?
She's. Probably. 58. Yrs. Old.
@@armandoruiz2089 According to her: 46 years in Los Angeles , 40 years in San Diego and 8 years in Mexico = 94
A lot of the americans who are now moving to Mexico are the same people who didn't want Mexicans moving to the US. 😂
That’s not true. Don’t let the media tell you what to think
You have no idea if they're the same people. You're just making shit up.
