At 150k miles it seems that my TD5 clutch needs replacement... Having watched your video I'm happy to pay someone to do it! 😊 Fantastic video explanation as always 👍🏻
Hello, nice video🙏 my Landi Td5 needs a new pilot bearing ... it is the third time and now I make it on my own...and I have a question : Why are there two small channels cut into the brass bearing ? Is this the trick the bearing gets more lifetime ? Thank You from germany
Love your videos! super helpful for kicking off my own td5 works. Also, which flywheel (single mass), clutch and release bearing kit did you use? would you mind to share the webshop link? thanks
Thanks for watching!😁 This kit is called the LOF Clutches ROAD spec and includes all the parts necessary, i can't share a link in the comments unfortunately but I'll put it in the description for you.
Great upload, It's strange that you carn't fit the upgraded slave cylinder with a new clutch. I waited 6 months before i fitted mine and what a difference it makes, i couldn't manage to fit the upgraded spring though. no matter how hard i tried..
I agree, it is very weird, as if the new clutch is supposed to be thicker or something. Anyways, if I would've known it would've saved me a lot of time 😅 Hope you'll get it to work some day...
Thank you for the presentation and Greetings from Paris ! I have a defender TD5 year 2003. If I up-shift quickly with high RPM from 1st to 2d, or 2d to 3d, I feel a crunch/grind in my hand (not so loud to hear it in the vehicle, I can just feel it with my hand). If I leave the RPM/rev normal, and leave a 1 second pause on Neutral between these gears, all is fine. No crunch when downshifting. The gearbox runs with new MTF94 oil. Is this a normal behavior for a R380 ? Are we supposed to UP shift slowly with these gearboxes, losing momentum ? Losing momentum is not an issue on flat road, but annoying climbing a slope. Many thanks for your help and feedback ! Julien
Thanks for the video, going to do this soon. How's your experience with the SMF? Still in doubt going for that or the original DMF. No extra vibrations? I guess you also changed the spigot bush?

The handbrake, just open the 4 bolds and swing the hole drum to the side, safes many work 😇 good video
Thanks!!
Flott! veldig fin og instruktiv film. Du får ros for både mekanikerjobben og film-redigeringa.
Tusen takk!!!😁
Thanks for the video mahnn. Really appreciate your efforts❤
Currently doing my clutch on my td5 discovery 2 with the almost the exact same kit as you and have and found this video really helpful thank you.
Happy to help! Good luck 😁

Great video. Looks like a lot of work!
Thank you! Yes it was about 25 hours of work. But the result was great and the customer happy!

Excellent video, when I did my clutch, I think I disconnected the handbrake cable from the lever, as I don't recall removing the shoes?
Oh wow that's a really good tip! Next time I'll definitely keep the shoes on👌🏼👌🏼 thanks!
how about the good old toast way for the spigot removal?

Great video! Which headlights did you install and what is the dimension of your tires and rims? Thank you so much.
Thanks for watching!
This was a customer car so I do not know the brand of the lights. The tyres are 265/75R16 in size👌🏼

When you put the flywheel on do you not have to put it on in a specific location ask the crank postion sensor need to read the engine postion?
No it isn't necessary as it doesn't read the crank position off the flywheel👌🏼
So, end to end, with all the problems you had, how long did it take you?
As a first time job it took me 24 labour hours. I'd guess with the experience I'd have it done in about 15-16 next time.
Vad tar du för att göra detta jobbet på en TD5a?
Ca 20-25 timmar à 600kr + alla delar... Det är ett stort jobb som tar mycket tid. Men skriv gärna DM på Instagram om du är intresserad 😉
Three bolts (not two) for the starter, the top one being a pig.
