EART HEADLESS GUITAR - The PERFECT BLEND of MODERN and TRADITIONAL
Вставка
- Опубліковано 25 сер 2021
- This affordable yet beautifully made headless guitar from Eart, features 24 stainless steel frets, alnico humbucker pickups, satin finish, and even a zero fret! For me, this is just the right amount of modern and traditional. It's still a standard scale length 6 string guitar with simple controls and passive humbuckers, but it also has an ergonomic body shape and cutting-edge headless construction. All for under $350!

With the many guitars that you review, you should have like a max scale or something. Like a standard numeric system to rank the guitars. You do such a good thorough review on all the guitars you play.
*Maxxx scale 😏
It's a trap!!!!
One of the things that drives me up a wall about UA-cam is how many times I think I'm watching a review and it turns out to be an affiliate link commercial.
I'm not big on modern designs, but this boy is an exception to my usual sense of aesthetics. This thing is just flat out cool! Thanks, GM.
I swore I would never like headless guitars but since they’re so cheap and they look nice it’s worth getting one lol
Thanks for posting the review Guitar Max! I purchased mine (same color as the one you reviewed) back in March, 2021 and I am still digging it. I like the way my wireless transmitter folds away in the cavity under the bridge. I did a review (kind of lame) as well, where you can see the body difference and compared it in size to a Gibson LP Std and a Fender American Strat. Agree 100% that this is a great value for the money and it is a good introductory guitar for folks who are interested in checking out headless guitars.
Your intro was so amazing that I got totally lost in it and forgot I was watching a gear review video. Man, you can play!!!
I have the first gen one, neck and fretwork is top notch. Pickups not bad at all. Well worth the price. Great video
I really like that guitar. Thanks for the video. I like it that Eart keeps innovating. Nice.
Your play troughs are superb max.. enjoyed them a lot
Thanks a ton!
Love the reviews!!,..love the guitar!!..I havent been able to put mine down since I got it..keep up the good work!
Thanks for all the great quality, good price, unknown guitars. I love them all but tis one truly stands out against the rest!!
This is the one I really wanted to post it sounds great playing your blues or whatever great sounds
I am not a headless guitar fan, but this is such a beautiful guitar, I really love the finish
I just ordered a black one, can't wait to get it!!! Great videos Max!!!
@jade marks Mine showed up a little less than perfect. It had some frets that stuck out, and it was not the color I ordered. Eart’s Ebay customer service was not cool about it either. To get the correct guitar they wanted me to pay for shipping to send the guitar they sent me back, AND, pay for shipping of the correct guitar.
So, they’re dead to me.
I’ve decided to gut the guitar and make it better.
Look up Eart GW2 Upgrades here on UA-cam and you’ll find my video series of how I’m making the guitar better.
Oooh that top😳 looks amazing!!
That intro solo was amazing! Got a sub
Great job. The pickups are probably Artec because they use them a lot. Love my EARTs.
omg, she is soo good! in your hands, Max
I have the old body shape with the tremolo. I was gonna buy another without the trem but I can't stand how the new body looks
I guess because it was identical to Boden :(
Bad ass playing brother! Im thinking about picking one of these babies up along with a spark amp
I was looking at these on Amazon. $369. One of my all time favorite players, Buck Dharma of BOC plays a headless. I always thought them as weird. But, now, i think they look pretty cool. I would want one w/ Floyd.
That's one sleek production !
Great review, I have been on the fence about getting one of these and the only reason I haven't is I really do not have the room for another guitar.
Your playing has going really good. Not that it was bad before, just less hesitation and more confidence and taster melodies.
Wow. That's an amazing guitar.
I like mine a lot. One thing is that the neck at the nut gets wider so you know where the end of the neck is with out falling off the end. You are right it is very resonant. It feels like I'm home when playing it.
I too have the older body style and blue color. I like the new style as well. Mine does not have a trem. It is a different guitar and I enjoy playing it , but I still prefer the traditional headstock guitars. As always, great demo and keep them coming. Hey have you tried out one of the PRS style Wolf guitars with the trem? I noticed they have added that now.
My 10 y/o daughter is about to graduate from her short scale starter guitar, thinking something like this with great features but in a smaller lighter ergonomic package. She’s a rocker too so it not being traditional is a plus.
Me myself I'm old school love the look of a headstock
Thank you Max, I love your videos. Killer guitars/killer tone. Excellent dude!
I love that playing
Eart fretwork is soooo on point. Got 3
Which ones did you get?
@@GuitarMAXMusic I got a blue explorer, and two headless hard tails, one blue, one natural. Love them all. Bought the 1st one (explorer) right after seeing u review the eart strat one lol
Now that your officially on the EART band wagon can you please review the EART Explorer
You had some great tones here dude! Super nice!
And I really like that color on this guitar!
Sweet video!
Thanks man!
THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!!!
Have been looking into possibly getting this exact guitar for over a year now....I think now because of this video, I'm going to have to pull the trigger on it...
Here's hoping EART doesn't cherry pick their guitars for reviews...
Hi Max,
This sure was a cool looking guitar. Headless that looks really Metal...no need to worry of having Fret Wraps..hahaha.
Love your review on this...I think I want to have one of these guitars. I hope there is no Fret buzz on this and that 0 Fret does helps this.
Looks to be a good travel electric too. Thanks!
This is sick dude.
Great video Max I don't know which one to get now.
I got the headless Eart and I actually like it better in many ways than many high end brands like Gibson and PRS. The neck and fretboard and fretwork is as good as any guitar I´v tried. Not the greatest tuning stability, but playability is up there with guitars that cost way more than the price of a Eart. The sound is really good as well, i would describe it as a very modern type sound that takes effects and lots of gain great, but with the warmness of a vintage humbucker, also the neck and bridge are well balanced so you dont have to readjust the amp when switching pickups. However, the bridge tremolo is cheap, its ok for use at home, but not something you would gig with. Love the SS frets, on ordinary frets I get this annoying scratching when doing heavy vibrato, I do not get this on these SS frets. It is a Stratocaster scale length neck and comes equipped with 10 strings, which feels suprisingly good, but I might go for 9.5 strings as I usually prefer 9 on strats and 10s on Gibsons.
I have the earlier body version of this guitar in the blue color and I think it's a beautiful guitar. I like the way it looks and it plays like a dream. Took a few days to get used to it not having a headstock there for reference but as far as the bridge goes I like that it it stays in tune better than any other guitar I have ever touched. I have the hardtail version. I would recommend this guitar to anybody that wants a great playing guitar and the pickups are pretty good especially if you use the tone control to get the sound you want I find that rolling the tone knob back a bit is my preference otherwise generally a little brighter than I like. Hard to find a better bang for your buck than this guitar. It's shorter than other guitars because it doesn't have the headstock. Very comfortable and it has 24 stainless steel frets and when you bend your strings it's as slick as could be.
I have the same guitar and couldn't agree with you more. Great bang for the buck.
Man do you have a full version of that intro posted anywhere? That was amazing
OMG did hell freeze over, this is a HEADLESS guitar you are reviewing 😂 👍 👍 Great placement of the jack so it doesnt dig into the leg. It needs a strap loop or button at the headstock so it can be hung from a wall hanger, no other headless guitar has that very important feature.
I like the ergonmic body shape with the headless neck. I think a Monkey Grip would make it even better and look cooler. Thanks
My sink is stainless steel and it’s awesome
It looks and sounds good, if they make a headless explorer I'm in.
Neck:5-Piece wenge/Padauk
Neck Profile:Compound U to C shape
Pickups:Eart Custom covered modern 57 Alnico V humbucker made in korea
Nice. Was never a big fan of headless guitars but that EART axe is sweet! Comes in a beautiful blue as well. As always great vid and some tasty playing too, Max. 👍
They also have a compound radius neck - flattens out at the 12th fret - FYI
Got the trem version on the day you released this video. The setup out if the box is unbelievable. Lowest action I e ever had on any guitar and I usually get my guitars set up at the music shop.
The trem is kinda garbage however. Can't figure out how to get it to float properly. It cant divebomb at all its like the opposite of a traditional trem. It'll pull WAAAAYYYY back but it won't dive very far.
Other than that everything you said about it is true. The neck feels better than my friends prs and schecter guitars. It's unbelievable how well made it is for the price!
Get a TransTrem instead!
The body and the dark wood in the neck is African Padauk according to Earts website.
Beautiful guitar🔥, GAS strikes again🤤🎸, stainless steel frets and the zero fret is the x-factor. I have one guitar with zero fret and it's fantastic. AlieExpress here I come!!😂
you can buy them from amazon for cheaper and faster delivery
Love the review. Anyone have an opinion on the neck thickness compared to a Ibanez wizard neck?
I thought about buying this to mod some and use at home for extended practice but I also wanted fanned/multi scale 7 string and the website shows they don’t make them with multi scale. It sucks you can’t find a headless multi scale 7 string below $1000. The few I did was new companies that disappeared after awhile. I can’t even find guitar kits to build one.
You should review the leo jamz headless i baught ine and its pretty nice sounding and looks killer
Just got the same one. Biggest flaw? Slight buzz on low E. Everything else was spot on. $369 now. I really like the bridge. Stays in tune. Beats tuning pegs all day. Restringing was fast and painless. If you're on the fence I say take a chance. dropped some EMG pickups(ZW) in it and it's brilliant.
Can you take this guitar as a carry on in flights
@@Antoniolovesjesus most airlines allow it. However, it must fit in the overhead or beneath the seat. Since the guitar is basically travel size, it boils down to the room in overhead or underneath as to if it will work or not. I do not know those dimensions or if they vary by plane type.
@@michaelsmith9544 thank you
@@Antoniolovesjesus you are very welcome
I've got the e3s amber. Absolute fire
As is the 335. What are the other like?
Stainless steel frets. Back to the Future DeLorean t-shirt. Nice.
Looks and sounds just great!
Does the playing skill comes included though?
I was hearing some Iron Maiden vibes in that intro. Noice👍
How low does your action have to be to do all the tapping/pull-offs that you do. They sound great.
I came across Big Lou Guitar which sells wide neck guitars for people with big fingers. Nut widths are 1.875" and 2"! It would be great if you could review a 2" nut model like the island blue El Dorado model. I am an old newbie with problems like muting neighboring strings, not getting my fingers placed right, etc., and would like to know if this guitar would help me learn. Thanks!
Does this take standard strings or double balls or both? Shame they didn't use a combo headpiece like my Steinberger, then they could have done away with the nut.
The neck is reportedly maple and paduak, according to the Amazon listing...
Headless never appealed to me, but this one definitely seems like a pickup next check.
Definitely looks different. Sounds amazing though.
God I have to get one of eart's guitars, they are awesome
Pull the trigger! Well worth it!
Pull the trigger! Well worth it!
man I want a headless guitar and for $400 seems like the right buy
For this guitar do you need two-heads strings o just normal ones?
See little concerned. It sounds great but is that because pickups are great or because that hot one is killer?
Check out a Gittler Guitar, they are made fully out of Titanium! They are in the Gibson price range, but it would be right up your alley I'd imagine! There's a model in chrome, and an Army Green one coated in Kevlar! They also have a more traditional-ish headless guitar design that is somewhat similar to the "James Bond" guitar available as well.
@Undercoverbus He's reviewed expensive guitars before. Neither of those should be an issue; many guitars can be reviewed in the meantime while in the waitlist cue.
the hype about Eart guitars at the moment are real... I just ordered one 😬
nice review. Are we going to see a review of the Ampero? Im planning on buying one soon :)
Yes! I'm working on a full review of it!
@@GuitarMAXMusic awesome. Love your reviews Max... even the cheesy parts :D
On their site they say the neck is 5-piece maple/padauk...
Have you seen the new Ibanez headless ?
Does it need double ball end strings?
how does this compare to the Harley Benton Dullahan?
Hi "HOLY CRAP ON A SUNDAY" wow nice EART GUITAR HEADLESS I OWN A EART EXPLORER-1 I CALL HIM COSMO AKA THE BEAST and I love that guitar I got it oct 9th 2021 ordered on the 7th from amazon i got it in 2 days amazing right, well the guitar turned out to be even more AWESOME then I thought it would be I'm totaly impressed with it but dude EART GUITARS reached out to me to do a review video do you have any advice for me as it is my FIRST REVIEW VIDEO EVER ?????????
the tone of your demo is really good, but can you use amps next time?
Whats the name of the first song?? The intro song??
When playing on stage it looks annoying trying to tune if it goes out of tune when you have a quick break in the song.
Quality control issues, I just received my first, trem version, sending it back today, defective bridge, & or installation, missing a set screw for a saddle, bridge is crooked, the rear portion of the immobile half of the trem pivot plate system treble side has 3/16” gap below a screw that should be holding it flush with the body, so the bridge is tilted down .towards the bass side, the Allen key for intonation is inaccessible as a result, and all the sliders were loose. The trem lock did not fix the trems position completely, likely because everything on the bridge was misaligned or damaged from a hurried install or bad part
Otherwise the wood/joints frets and fretboard were excellent and clean, overall construction is great, it was set up to play, good action
but then the saddle popped up & out and the sliders changed position& began to move around, the tremolo spring was wound very tight, to make up for the broken trem lock lever it seemed to me, I was just exploring it when everything went haywire as the saddle pooped out.
Caution to anyone buying, bridge is aluminum, the set screw for intonation also seems to be, or a very soft metal, the Allen key could not be inserted, due to crooked bridge or install, the Allen set screws on the bridge saddles are brass, but I plan to get a brass replacement for the intonation set screw too.
if you were to over tighten this set screw it would likely strip the female threads in the main bridge body, and ruin it. It could possibly be remachined with a larger set screw however. This bridge requires a gentle touch, changing string gauges and re intonation over and over is risky, the more you do, the more likely the set screw will strip the bridge, or the Allen head because it’s such soft metal, tools are same soft stuff, I’ll get replacements, theirs won’t last, and could damage the bridge set screw. Once everything is locked down, it looks durable, the brass saddles and rollers are well made, overall a good design, but materials are suspect, brass would be better for the main body of the bridge.
But overall, I’m not sorry at this price point, just a bad apple, it happens……the neck feels especially nice. Can’t wait for the replacement to arrive!🙂
Not sure if it's the shape I'm not a fan of or the burled finish on the face of it. I know they had to change the shape because of its similarity to another manufacturer's product. It does sound nice though, and if a shredder like Max likes the playability of it I know its gotta be good.
Nissssssssssssssssssce 🍻
I have one & it's well worth double to triple the price! Super comfortable to play , stays in tune , & frets are emaculate! Buy one before they jack the price up! Originally these were $280!
C'mon, I have one and they are decent but not that great :P
Max, do you like the Eart headless or the Latitude headless?
One reviewer turned the string changing process into a comedy routine due to it being so tricky to get the strings under the double balls that hold each string.
He showed easily you can lose your balls if you desperately back the locking screws completely out.
Many people are not a fan of the separate crank black tuner/saddle like this one. Everybody loves the PRO version saddle with brass tuning barrels.
i have this model and it isn't the one with balls in the neck end, that's a diffo model and i believe a diffo make too
How does this compare to the same looking Latitude Cardinal Headless Electric?
was wondering the same.
Even since I bought my GW2 I haven't been able to put it down, I own another guitar, A Shecter omen extreme which is now second to this guitar. The pickups are perfect for blues and neo soul. Honestly, an amazing guitar for the price and I urge everyone if you are thinking of getting this guitar to get it. The bridge is not as bad as people say, and it's really easy to adjust, If you need help adjusting it reply to this comment and ill hopefully be able to solve your problems!
How is the trem? One dive bomb and it's out bad or what?
@@vhcxhbvg I got the version without the trem, I’ve heard bad reviews about the trem but have also seen people who got the trem working well. I tend to avoid guitars with floating trems because I’d rather not deal with the hassle.
I'm not into headless guitars at all, but Eart is making beautiful guitars.
so as an owner of 3 eart guitar myself. i must point out that in less than 6 month of owning mine the finish is cracking badly. plus no guitar is the same. 2 of mine are explorers 1 they both have different necks one is thinner then the other. both the necks have different woods. but for the price i wouldn't change anything. even with these faults there still good guitars and great for modding. i posted pictures on facebook eart page. you can see there the necks and the guitars there. (purple and black guitars)
Boy you are lucky to have a voice like that, do you know your voice was made for radio/TV. Do you sing? I'm just curious.
Can you take this as a carry on during a flight
The guitar looks really nice, but how much does it weigh?
So this is better than harley benton dullahan?
Question is this or one with the trem????
To anyone who has this guitar, is it good to play right out of the box?
Friend of mine's kid is huge Into 80's and 90's metal he wants to start guitar do you offer something for a beginner or can you recc a good course? I wish I had time to start him but I just don't and he is a few states away from me. He is 13 so its a great time to get started.
I am working on a beginner course, but do not have one at the moment.
@@GuitarMAXMusic anyone you would recc?
@@th3drizzl378 check out "metal method" it is the best video set of lessons anywhere
Can you put it on a stand tho
Is there a spot to put a clip on tuner?
I clip mine momentarily to one of the knobs
Also works clipping a tuner to the strap button
I have the first version, with a more Strandberg cut, but I confess this one isn't too bad just ... slightly odd shaped upper and lower horns. At least they tried to "move away" from a pure clone shape. My only disappointment is the lack of space to plug a wirelles cable emitter into the jack. Given the cost/value, I might enlarge the area there for my Line 6 firestarter. This headless turned out to be more workable then the v1 Dullahan from HB. And that's a surprise. Just be gentle with the bridge.
It looks like the guitar body on this one could use a bit of rounding around the picking hand forearm area, seems a bit too square there, maybe creates a bit of a bite on the inside of the forearm or inside of the wrist when playing? Ergonomics..
I don't even plug in guitars at guitar stores. I feel for resonating, if it does it to my liking...it's mine. Pickups are replaceable.
