- HD Team Pilot, Dimitry "Dima" Vinar, shares a first-look preview of the new Spirit Wave radio system. He highlights some great new features, including cloud storage for logs and model settings, a built-in flight simulator, ease of use and navigation, and much more! This one is looking very promising and paired with the Spirit W1 FBL unit; OMG, SPECIAL!
The NEW Spirit Wave radio should be available for pre-order this October @ HeliDirect.com. Until then, check out more details of the system on Spirit's website @ spirit-system.com/wave/ - Навчання та стиль
Congratulations to Thomas and his Team for bringing new high end radio on the market.
Thanks, we are looking forward to polishing off this inital release and developing this system further!
Thanks for the preview! It’s exciting to see new options in our great hobby!!!
You're welcome :)
Really nice! Big money already invested in another brand however this system will go in my currently unbuilt 700 heli. Good video!
This. Is. AWESOME! I've really been loving the Spirit GT units (flying FrSky with Ethos integration), and this just takes it a step further. I'm looking forward to seeing the regular receiver options too, I'm hoping this can become my "one" radio.
Yup. All will be revealed shortly!
Great Radio! Really like the integration of Rx FBL and ESC!🎉
Yup, powerful combo!
Awesome video, defo considering one of these when they get released.
looks fantastic. I know Tamas is marketing this to be a system for all model types, not just helis. Lots of people do fly planes as well as helis. this being the case it would be good to see how you do a plane setup, especially something complex like a 4 servo wing glider with adjustable camber flights modes etc.
Yup this radio can be used with Helicopters, planes, quads, and cars!
Locking really nice - some things for next video: 1) Setting up a plank - yes some of us fly them and for this money one radio will have to do all. 2) Startup time seems a bit longer than promised - maybe show that it is just the interface…??? 3) Trims - again for us the fly planks, what does that look like on the radio. Auto trim is fine but with a limited amount of switch’s that becomes an issue too
We will definitely have videos like this in the future. This is just a sneak preview :).
wow I need one! I hope it gets sold as a combo with an FBL unit that works as a receiver too
The Spirit W1 unit will have a built in Wave receiver. They say there will be stand-alone receivers (without gyros) for use in fixed wing as well.
Love it. Big Spirit fan here. Do not say more. Tomáš take my money! Would buy now if i could. My Jeti DS-16 will be up for sale soon!
I am switching over from a Jeti as well!
I'd consider the switch but i also fly planes, both power and gliders. I'm not so far seeing support for those. Guess that will be shown later.
I check in this day and i do all translate in italian for Big Tomas , wawe is fantastic radio 🤙
Come on I can’t wait anymore
Looking forward to the setup video, can you also demonstrate the voice announcements ? Is the Tx using .wav files for telemetry values ? Or is it using a Text To Speech genarator ?
These will be demonstrated in future videos :)
Any chance for certification for use in Japan? We cannot legally use Vbar here as they can't be bothered to fill in some paperwork...
Any release date for the wave pro
Will the simulator be able to guide you through maneuvers? I still struggle to do piro flips haha
That's a great idea. I will suggest this to the dev team!
Would this be a Heli only TX or also for planes?!? 😬
Thx
Nice video btw. 👌
Both!
Following.
What is the price point going to be?
Did this radio ever come out?
The Gimbals and Case look like they are from Radiomaster, is this correct ?
The gimbals are hobby porter gimbals, commonly known as radiomaster AG01 gimbals. They are certainly one of the best on the market right now. I have seen a lot of people retro fitting them into various radios recently. There is no other components shared with radiomaster, internally or externally.
can you confirm that I can use this radio to fly FHSS protocol as well?
You will not be able to use FHSS protocol. The Wave will have its own protocol, and they say there will be a line of regular receivers available as well so it can be used in fixed wing models.
What the gentleman above said, this radio is not multi protocol however you can use the radio with any FBL with a Spirit rx! As well as any Rx with the Spirit W1 FBL. 😮
@@JustPlaneChris the range of receivers and if they have to be 'fancy' programmable receivers with inbuilt gyros has yet to be revealed. The video didnt show any capability to set the Tx up like a traditional Tx (rates, curves, expo, flight modes etc etc stored in the actual Tx). I suspect (based on the fact that the Tx has no trims) that the airplane receivers will have to have gyros inbuilt and will be intelligent, running Spirit Aero. This might make them relatively expensive but only time will tell.
Will this be compatible with nitro helis?
Absolutely! Any spirit unit will work with a nitro heli.
Of course the gimbals feel fantastic . They’re ag01 gimbals. Not a better gimbal on the market for 130$ a set. Every mfg should be putting these in they’re radios. Especially companies like vbar where your spending over 1k on a radio and still getting ANALOGUE GIMBALS!!😂😂
Yup great gimbals are one of the most important things in a radio and I love these ones!
What will the price point be?
We don't have official USD pricing yet, but the spirit website shows MSRP for the standard version is 999 euros, and the PRO is 1399 euros.
I'm curious but won't buy anything if there isn't decent parts availability. I like Mikado but if they're similar or worse with parts then it will be a hard no for me.
Spirit WAVE radios are largely pilot-servicable and parts will be readily available from Spirit. :)
@@REVOS5 Sounds great! I also have a Radio Master and really like the way they do parts for it!
Shut up!
And take my money!
