Maybe some tetras like the neons or the buenos aires tetras. Maybe some amano shrimp to help combat possible algae. Also maybe add some anubias plants.
Carson, you need to take the java Fern rhizomes out of the sand. You have them planted in gravel in other tanks and that's fine because it's gravel BUT they will rot in sand.
@@jwaquatics8871 that's what I was thinking, but I've seen his Java Fern buried in his gravel, and they seem to do fine. I didn't want him to look at the comment and go "well I already have them buried, so I know this guy is wrong". That's why I added the gravel part.
@@Vegimak Even though the grain size of the gravel is much bigger than Aqua soil or eco complete, Java fern still shouldn’t be buried in it. Since it’s an epiphyte, they pull nutrients from the water column, and if the roots are planted Ina substrate, the plant will suffocate. It should be tied on to or glued to hardscape, so the roots have clear access to the water column
My five year old son absolutely LOOOOVES your videos! We found you when we got our turtles, Charger the painted and Pacer the yellow bellied slider. He absolutely loves fish and we have a fan tail goldfish tank, a guppy tank, a Betta, and a pleco that were growing out in his own tank. Now we have hermit crabs! Love your content!!!
Enjoy watching your videos but as others have mentioned, the Java fern will grow better if it’s not in the substrate, maybe try gluing it to the wood or even stone, also for the potted plant, there’s usually rock wool in those, try to take that out if you haven’t already👍🏼
Hey Carlson, Very interested on update on this video. I just got the same tank set up. Wanted to see how the plants are holding up and what fish you two ended up deciding on.
You might want to glue or tuck those java ferns in the wood/rock or they will rot also add some root tabs in the sand for that stem plant so it has nutrients along getting liquid fertilizer for the fern some anubias will make it look even better, as for fish a nice school of neon tetras with corydoras and shrimp or ottocynclus for algae control
Hi Carson! Java fern will die if buried, it has a stem part on the very bottom and thats what needs to get the light and oxygen. I suggest a weight on the Java to keep it where you want it.
Maybe some malawi cichlids or mbuna cichlids.. Or maybe a school of neon tetras, or cardinal tetras or rummy nose... But u could definitely go with a community tank with zebra danios, mollies, guppies and maybe dwarf gourami...
Carson make sure you take the Java ferns out of the sand they have ribosomes and they will die and rot. Great vid. Also a large school of neon tetras would look awesome if you plant it up more
I've had the 37 tall going for two years I absolutely love top fin tanks with the black calking and the glass is nice and thick just got a top fin 55 starter kit for 139 on sale thats a heck of deal and my friend gave me the matching stand for free I filled it with black diamond blasting sand and haven't filled it up yet...
Hey Carson, have you ever considered watching some other UA-cam channels to make your scapes look better? This one has SO much empty space and lack of space used, you could benefit a lot from some more ideas from the pros.
Sand contains no nutrients. Your plants will eventually rot away if you don't supplement them with extra nutrients like Iron, Magnesium, Phosphorous etc. You should've made a base layer with aquarium soil like Fluval Stratum and then put the sand on top, but pretty nice regardless!
I bought the same type of stand for my 20 long aquarium, I believe it took me a few hours to put together as well, but it is a great stand. Good luck, nice content…
Glad you back and nothing says love like starting her on a life long addiction MTS is real lol another great one and congrat s man you have a beautiful girl friend
You’re not supposed to put java fern in the substrate. They are and epiphyte plants which means that they do not go in the substrate but on things like rocks and wood.
Do you not need root tabs when putting live plants in an aquarium with pool filter sand? I have the same in my 20 gallon but was under the impression that I needed root tabs
Carson you can put 3 discus fish ,people say that they're difficult to keep but they actually aren't and you can put a couple cardinal tetras, some catfish, pearl gouramis and rummy nose tetras. I love your videos ❤️😍😍😍🐡🐡🐠🐟

Thanks for watching! What kind of fish do y’all wanna see in Tori’s new tank?⬇️
For centerpiece fish you can have a male betta and then do your research to see what fish you can put with a male betta
Maybe some tetras like the neons or the buenos aires tetras. Maybe some amano shrimp to help combat possible algae. Also maybe add some anubias plants.
Neon and black tetras, some mollies and platies, ghost shrimp, and maybe a bamboo shrimp
A pair of dwarf gourami and a group of corys
Maybe some glofish tetras,a Betta, and some guppies.
Carson, you need to take the java Fern rhizomes out of the sand. You have them planted in gravel in other tanks and that's fine because it's gravel BUT they will rot in sand.
You can’t even put epiphytes in any type of substrate. Period.

Wsp Carson you are the one who got me into the fish hobby. So I just wanna say thanks for all your help on American cichlids so much love brother ❤️
me :not watching Carson after 2 years
Him :setting up tank for girlfriend
Me : wait he has a girlfriend
Bro I wouldn’t recommend putting Java ferns in sand. Most of the time they rot
I'd say he could plant the Java fern on any drift wood he might add. Mine is doing great on the wood

One option could be neon tetras, I think they would look nice in the tank.
The King has returned!!!
man i found you a few months ago, now i am checking everyday for a new vid. ur the best
Gosh Tori is such a doll Carson!!
Aww how nice this is awesome
Less goo I waited a week for the new vid can we get an update on the 125 gallon?

Love see your notifications pop up on my screen keep it up
You guys should add two electric blue acaras and some small schooling fish
Tori is so beautiful! Great video as usual Carson!
I'm excited to see the end result w/ fish ~ Looks really nice so far ! Great idea for the temporary background too....
I suggest some kind of rainbow fish. They are colorful, active, and will keep the tank looking nice all the time.
I just love it when Carson uploads!!!!
Since I can't set up another tank yet, I love watching other people do it! It scratches the itch
Glue the Java ferns on the dragon stone with gel superglue it hardens underwater and it’s safe for fishies🐠
I love cory catfish. Those are my fave at the moment. I think she'd enjoy those. They're so cute.
should do a group of dwarf puffers would look good in there
neon or cardinal tetras! they're soo cool. I miss having neons :)
You should get her a clown knife fish broo!!!! Also love your vids!!
Hey Carson, I think Mollys, Amano shrimp or Angel fish because they stand out a pop out against the wood and plants. :)
Can you make a video on how to clean a aquarium like this? So with sand and plants! 🪴
Guppies, swordtails, platies, molies and corydoras would do great 👍
love the videos! new fan of the channel, got a baby turtle a few days ago and your videos have been very informational for a new turtle parent:)

I’m excited to see what fish y’all get!
Do a video of your girlfriend picking a cichlid for your tank

1:12 meme worthy face 😂 gotta love some live plants
I ALWAYS enjoy your tank set up theme!
Greeting from Malaysia. Wow! Nice tank setup.
Colorful tetras would be cool!!
Platies, bristlenose pleco, Honey Gourami and Harley Quinn Rasboras.
Been here since you got Sheldon! Love seeing you grow! Keep it up👊
This was wholesome
that was good and the Aquarium looks really good nice job
I think you can put some gouramis in there with some tetras . Shout out in the next video please
I bought the same type of stand for my 20 long aquarium, I believe it took me a few hours to put together as well, but it is a great stand. Good luck, nice content…
Panda Corys
Harlequin Rasboras
1 Golden Wonder Killifish
I'd probably add some Lemon Tetras. Beginner friendly and live quite a long time, get really pretty when they're grown up too.
Maybe some platies would do
First Fish Guy Here 🐠
Seeing ur gf after a long time... I Remeber that video where you set up a 3.5 gallon aquarium for her betta... It was cool
The tank is very nice ngl good job
Get a blood parrot for that tank!!!
Peep pop
Wish I could start a fish/aquatic hobby! I guess watching you will do for now! Great video :)
Hey Carson good vid but just an fyi those ferns sent supposed to be planted. Your supposed to attach them to a piece of wood or rock.
Glad you back and nothing says love like starting her on a life long addiction MTS is real lol another great one and congrat s man you have a beautiful girl friend
Ps some red plants and Angel fish and courts would pop in there
Carson is my favorite youtuber even if I don't get a shout out I still love him

Liked before watching ahah
Do you not need root tabs when putting live plants in an aquarium with pool filter sand? I have the same in my 20 gallon but was under the impression that I needed root tabs
yes you need some sort of fertilizer. sand has 0 nutrients and plants wont grow in it. root tabs + liquid ferts are ideal
I really think Top Fin aquariums and accessories are the best.
A school of neon tetras
how much did that 37gallon kit cost also I want to know if 2 common musk turtles are able to live good there
She's so cute!
Love the video already man and I’m just getting into it
Nice video carson keep up the good work nothing is holding you back.
Probably you should put some more stones on the right of the tank
Sana ol 💖
oranda goldfish! :)
Awesome!
Hmm u need to look into basic aquascaping my man. That java fern is def rotting soon. As also for the potted plant i suggest u take it out of there.
German Blue Rams, angelfish, rummynose tetra
Get that Java fern outta the sand bro. Glue it to rocks or wood. That’s just gonna melt away.
1:59 super cool clock - can you link it?
You should get a new heater because the top fin ones are very unreliable in know from experience
Waiting on a new video
One day ima have it one day
Sup Carson love the vids.
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

id say 37 gallons is too small for discus
@@xan7212no it isn't. The rule is 10 gallons per discus fish, and I keep 3 discus in a 30 gallon and they're full grown now and they even layed eggs
@@mikesaquatics6861 “the rule” vs giving a fish a proper, comfortable, and suitable habitat are different.
@@xan7212 That's what I am saying I have discus in a proper habitat and they are doing fantastic in this aquarium ,and do your reaserch

Hi Carson love the vids man
