As someone who lives very close to the beach in Florida, it's not all it's cracked up to be. There are storms, flooding, traffic, everything is more expensive, and don't forget the tourists! Just got through Nicole! I've lived in Maine in the middle of nowhere, and I thrived because I'm not particularly social. There's nothing like sitting in front of a fireplace in the middle of a snowstorm with a nice smoke. I have to go with mountain cabin. You're both awesome! I've also dealt with bears and sharks, and I'll say you can see a bear sooner then you'll see a shark.
New research shows that the sight of trees allows the parasympathetic nervous system to gain an edge, calming the entire body and making us more relaxed.
Josh, dude... Summer cabins! walks in the trees, bird song everywhere, different vistas around every turn. And its usually cool enough for a fire and a comforter for a cozy evening. Cabins = fun all year round. Beaches = fickle seasonal grit playa
Best of both worlds, cabin in the woods right on a nice clear lake. Where we go there is almost no sand beyond the water, turns into lawn pretty quick.
These two have me crackin up. Lol... i''m from CO, interacted with bears - I'd still choose cabin in the mountains. And vacation at the beach. Don't wanna live on the beach, but I'll visit. "Sand is the herpies of dirt" FAAACT lol!!

About 12 years ago I left the city behind, moved into the mountains and built myself a small cabin. Nothing huge, just big enough for me and my dogs. It's been allot of work, but in the past couple years I've started raising goats to help with fire prevention and to sell to neighbors for the same reason. I'm working on getting firewood cut for the months to come as we just got a bunch of snow a little higher up on the mountain so it's very cold. I realize this is a rare situation but the cabin I built is right next to a wild and scenic river so in the summertime being down there is kinda like being at the beach in the mountains in a way. 🐐vs 🐑 🦓vs🐴 🦏vs🦛 😂
Kia ora! Do you have pine forests? People here feed the goats Christmas trees after the holidays. Recycling, feed goats, get yourself some firewood for the next season (6 months away, lol), all in one!
Please debate some aspect of dating. It could be where to meet folks, going Dutch on a first date, when to meet friends/family, how to break up, take your pick!
Haha my boyfriend has an odd relationship with his mom that I can't even explain, but he didn't tell her about me for several months, which didn't bother me. Fast forward 5 months into our relationship, we were visiting his dad out of state for Thanksgiving. In an odd twist of events, his dad passed the day we were to fly home. His mother flew out to support him despite not having spoken to her ex husband for years/decades. I still remember him on the phone, saying "oh yeah, I should tell you I have a girlfriend and she's here with me" 😂
@@jessicabrown3184 On the other hand, even though I'm living by the smelly ocean, it has made international travel a lot cheaper and more possible for me over the years. When you're in the middle of the country, getting to another country is much more complicated. When you're on the East Coast, $600 means 5 days in Iceland, including the flight, the hotel, and buffet breakfast everyday.
Slip-on shoes/boots vs. the ones that lace up-- I see people on my jobsite wearing actual cowboy boots, which do not provide ankle support and also look dumb :D
Sorry Dulce, I'm with Josh on this one. Cabin in the woods has far more appeal year round than a beach house. Also, you don't need curtains if you've got an eye mask.
Another reason why I pick beach houses and I keep saying it, I just love houses where there's near water. I was watching someone play Resident Evil Village and I was like when I saw beneviento's house I mentioned that "even though that place has a lot of dolls and I hate dolls cuz they're creepy, if you take away the dolls and maybe you bless the house or whatever it's a nice place to live because it's literally near a waterfall. And just inside the interior of the house it looks beautiful it looks like a nice house to live very cozy as well" like I said minus the dolls
An idea for a new episode is Paperback vs Electronic device (kindle, tablet, phone) to read a novel. Distractions and interruptions with electronic device vs a paperback book that doesn't ding and interrupt your reading flow.
I live on the shore of the gulf of Mexico in Mid-Fla. Tropical Storm Nicole is pounding my house right now and a mountain cabin sounds fantastic. Also I'm in Florida and that's an entirely different discussion.
Also, you are so right Dulce, sand is just dirt, are we not washable?! Laying on a beach, listening to the waves and getting millions of tiny hot stone massages is super relaxing.
I kinda feel like I end up agreeing with Josh more, if this is a debate, I think he wins. Dulcé is super funny, but a funny point isn't necessarily a well argued point.
Also, sound carries better over water, but also sharks can smell blood from extreme distances. That said, you are more likely to be killed by a wild pig or struck by lightning (fun fact, 9/10 people survive a lightning strike) than attacked by a shark.
Josh is such a cozy Granny. I love it. I grew up in Miami too and used to love the beach but over time Teenagers and tourists have dimmed the enjoyment. Maybe I'm full into my hibernation area but I love the idea of cozy little (luxury) spot off the beaten path. Holding my mug with both hands 🤣🤣
I'm going cabin; the forest, the sounds, the fresh air and the animals make it special. I'd watch deers, bears, big cats and everything else smoking a nice blizzington from a distance. A beach house is cool too but boring in contrast to all the life the cabin has, give me an underwater house and I'd say **** the cabin. I like animals.
We go to a woodsy lake cabin in Wisconsin in the summer. Love the frog and other noises at night. Even some loon sounds in the night can be ok if they're sporadic. There are some nights when they're over the top though lol
Sitting here in NH realizing I have 3 days to get my entire yard cleared of the fallen leaves and pine for my city's yearly pick up....I was just wishing to move warmer. I guess it's not really a cold climate thing as we have a coast but it's definitely nicer in San Diego at the beach right now !! (I think...hmm -best check out the news ; )

As much as I prefer summer to winter, I have to go with Josh on this one. As a NY dweller I'm thinking about Yankee beach houses vs cabins. At a mountain cabin you can go hiking in the summer, maybe a ropes course for some excitement. Skiing in the winter. A beach house in the winter in NY there's no skiing. You're just trapped inside. I did live down south for a while and as nice as it was to not even need a towel to dry off after swimming because it's so hot in the summer, sometimes it's too hot to be enjoyable. Winter at the beach even down south can be cold and not all that much fun. The weather has to cooperate. How about swimming pools vs oceans and lakes
I love Suite Life of Zack and Cody I can still hear the theme song playing. So you're saying you on North Miami it was like that? well that's pretty cool!
Great job! I can't decide for which however I also prefer the solitude and quiet of a cabin. With curtains. But please give me a beach house once in a while 🥰
I just thought of this and it might not be worth having a long conversation but, would you rather live forever or go back in time to change the world forever, but die as a mere mortal? I don't have social media so yeah, I hope y'all read this.
Now I have another debate just from this cuz I'm thinking about it and I'm like okay so sleeping near a campfire or hanging by campfire it's hella relaxing but so is being at a beach house near some water and the waves are very soothing. Both are relaxing but which one is more relaxing? You guys want to do a campfires versus beach waves episode? the main argument has to be which is the best place to relax or sleep
Can you do an episode regarding "Packing Early" or "Packing at the Last Minute"🤣🤣🤣
