- The Royal Family have attended a service at the Cenotaph to commemorate the end of World War I in 1918 and all who have died in armed conflict since.
Prince Charles, Prince William and Princess Anne each laid a wreath at the war memorial while the Queen watched on with the Duchess of Cambridge and Duchess of Cornwall on the balcony of the Foreign Office.

My grandad lost his life in the war he was blown up dismantling boms my dad was only 4 when he he died as a family we never got to know him the service was great and it give me pride to know we still have some British values left

This was a wonderful tribute, may God bless those who lost their lives. The Royal Family has continued our obligation to these fallen soldiers, and our heartfelt thankfulness for such tributes.

My "pap" was in WWI, my uncle in Korea, my cousin in Vietnam, my father in-law in WWII. My X & his brothers all served. My dad was blind in one eye & couldn't serve. One of my girls served. ❤🙏 God bless all. God save the Queen!!!
Lauralei Cathell my 4x great grandfather fought in the Napoleonic Wars, my 3x great uncle was in the Crimea war, a great grandfather in WW1, a grandfather in WW1, 3 2x uncles in WW1, and distant cousins, plus a distant cousin in WW2
until i'd started doing my family tree i'd only known of my grandfather and great grandfather, so there could be more in your past

My Grandad fought in WW2, he was in the British Army (Infantary), So proud of him and all those who fought in the war to save us from fascism. He was one of the lucky ones to make it back, I always think of those who never made it back to their loved ones, so sad. In our Hearts and Prayers. Happy Remembrance Day.

@@onthesideofrightwhyarentyo4103 I was referring to the horrors of WWI that was not a just war, but a war of dynasties that did not end all wars, as predicted. I was not discussing modern wars, but the one of 100 years ago that this service commemorates in terms of lives lost in it. The UK lost much of a generation of young men and France essentially lost an entire generation of young men. And the results actually generated WWII.
