The Bach is so close. Most of it sounds amazing. You really got in in spirit. Reminds me a lot of Bream. My parents gave me a Bream LP back in 71 ish and his version is etched into my brain. What a piece, maybe my favorite Bach ever.
Thank you! Yeah we’ll see how it is by the end of the year😅
I so enjoyed your fugue with my morning coffee - thank you! Your progress on it is palpable, both technically and musically. Beautiful!
Thank you!😄
Nice going Cameron... gotta love where your Bach is heading!!!
Thank you!😄
Fun fact: Graham Wade is one of the most prolific authors on classical guitar & a biographer of Andrés Segovia & Julian Bream. He was also the Head of guitar at the City of Leeds College of Music in the late 1990s. I studied classical guitar with him during that time. Small world, eh?
Thanks for sharing! Yes since starting this UA-cam channel I’ve noticed that the classical guitar world is kind of small 😄
You know we down to business when the glasses come off 🤓 😮
Incredible performance! It’s different every time, and each time there’s more “you” in it. Truly a great attempt in doing this piece justice.
Only thing I can say is to perhaps take it slower and actually struggle a bit more. Part of the human condition is anguish and the resilience to continue onwards! Right now, it feels more like a war hero or champion pressing the attack. That’s just my philosophy of Bach’s music, but I can see that bravado can carry this movement.
I wouldn’t mind the uncut version of all 4 recordings. Were they all different?
Thanks John! Yeah I took it a bit fast this time, and the other takes were fine but I didn’t feel like I was doing enough, this one was def the best
fugue = beautiful!
😄
I noticed that you have Sor’s diagram for his solution for holding the guitar. Or maybe it was Aguado.
Anyhow, What is your take on this?
I remember reading on Aaron Shearer’s website, that his solution to the problem that Sor tries to awkwardly solve with a table, is a strap.
It’s Sor😅 and idk I’ve never tried it, it seems better than a footstool though because your feet can stay on the ground. You might scratch the finish though
🎉❤ 🥳🎈 "A" for effort. 😉
I got a herniated disk a few years ago and have almost never picked up my classical since then. I was 18. The posture and the raised leg is a deal breaker. If I get a classical in the future I'll make sure to find a strap for it. But for their generation playing for hours a day in a difficult position like that, no wonder they had back issues.
Also spine stabilisation exercises. I don't know of anyone who actually teaches them but if you want to mitigate the risk of injury, you really should be doing something like the McGill Big 3 a few days a week. This should be as integral as practicing technique.
Very good job conducting those unnatural activities with the fugue. Have you ever tried the bwv 1000 fugue? I would love to see / hear a comparison between 1000 and 1001. I'm sure such a thing exists out there on the UA-cam somewhere. Great job, especially with your eyes closed ❤
I have not! I’ll check it out sometime
Not too much 👌🏼
👌
Way past your bed time
@@Sorhands It was one of those nights 😂
