    Classic Spa, beautiful track, quite a challenge in those old motors. I thought the neckFX looked perhaps a little OTT (unless you'd already driven a few laps awere feeling the weight of the helmet) but that was a bouncy ride, definitely adds something,

    Track safety aside, this was real racing. When the drivers fought against their own cars as much as they did their opponents and the track. Not that it doesn’t take skill to drive modern race cars, but pre-aerodynamics cars took a larger variety of skills that regular people couldn’t relate to.

    Sometimes I stop to think a little and ask myself, what made old racing cars so difficult to drive?
    The construction in general is very similar to the constructions of several modern racing cars in lower categories, the only differences are in torque, power, tires and suspension efficiency.
    I've driven in real life several cars with bad tires and even old cars with destroyed suspension and they don't drive as aggressively and/or dangerously as these old racing cars.
    The only difference that I believe would really cause such a problem is the wheelbase, as modern cars are much longer than older cars in the same category.
    Great video, dude, I really appreciate your work, your piloting skill, your choice of filters and the videos where only the roar of the engines are heard.

      Within Custom Shader Patch, using Content Manager - there's a settings menu for 'neckfx'. This, if active, allows camera movement to simulate the movement of 'you' within the car based on the g-forces of braking, accelerating and turning (and various others). They add a nice immersive detail to the driving experience for some, others may not be a fan.

    • @benovichboucharenski
      @benovichboucharenski  Рік тому +2

      This will look a little dull without it, but if you' re familiar with pure settings you can avoid Reshade by adjusting saturation and a few lightning settings.
      The CSP settings are 80% of the work, you can definitly try them first. My ppfilters are designed to work with Reshade, which just adds extra sharpness, lightning, depth of field and color adjustments.
      Natural mod or True Colors ppfilters will probably work just as fine if you wanna stick on a Reshade free AC.

    Well there must be something wrong with the AI for you to be able to drive around them like that at race start. AI is rubbish for this mod at Road Atlanta too. Pity as the models are so good.

    • @benovichboucharenski
      @benovichboucharenski  Рік тому +1

      AC's Ai always sucks at start and first corner!
      But it does give some good action once everyone is reaching full speed, and climbing from 20th to first can be challenging.
      Note that once you reach a proper competitive pace there's no challenge anymore as you are usually 1 sec or more faster than AI.
      But it still gives me chills. The graphics, immersion and endless track/car possibilities... As much as i enjoy AMS2 and Iracing when i need to chill and forget about everything it's AC that comes first, despite its many flaws🙂

      @@robertyates6913 that's on you to make a coherent grid, i'm def going to share the ones i make.
      A good grid really makes a dif : slower cars at the end, faster ones up. Mixing them in mid grid can either give you a cool packed grid or end up in a miserable mess, so it's just a matter of tries until you actually end up in some epic action.
      As an example, the Maserati, Daytona coupe and fords Mks are slippery and need room to take corners AND to break. Mixing them with the Berlinetta or with the Lola will often end up in a crash, mainly because the AI lines make them share the same spot on a tricky corner, either creating contact or sending one to the nearby field.
      Paying attention to who crashes where and with whom and adjusting the grid consequently is worth it! Once settled to something that works, you just go for a quick race against AI and enjoy being stuck in traffic with cars having almost the same pace.
      In the end i had as many epic experiences with AI as i had online, as spending 30 mins in qual just to be roamed on first lap is extremely frustating when you don't have that much time to play your favourite sim.
