So when I use regular bezier tool and using left click try to make curves, i find it difficult to make my next curve as it forces me to curve in the opposite direction. So say I make a curve towards the left hand side by drawing a line and then using left click, to make the next curve on the same side there is simply no option as it doesn't curve on the left hand side no matter what i do, moreover it suggests to curve towards the right hand side. It is super frustrating and making is impossible it to trace anything.
Doesn't work here. I'm going Nuts using a tool, supposed to make Beziers and only get straight lines when I click on Bezier! Because for straight lines I use Autocad or Rhino. Can I set it to always Bezier? I just and only want to make Beziers. One line with two Handles. Thx ❤️😊👍 After three hours of trying the easiest task in a Spline Tool, I will delete Inkscape. I am to thick for it, maybe
The pen tool is frustrating to learn. When I learned the info was really hard to find! I aim to make it easier for Inkscapers. This newer video explains 3 methods to make handles while drawing: ua-cam.com/video/ARTYZufXaEU/v-deo.html Press the left click, and while holding the click, pull the mouse. Press shift while still holding the mouse in the click pull. Boom - handles.
What I don't like of the inkscape pen is that you can't modify the handles while you're doing the path... (Like you can do in illustrator), you're forced to do it after you finish the whole path.
I agree with you. Illustrator has the better pen tool. It is much easier to use. Inkscape pen needs improvement. Maybe one day :) I did discover something else about the Inkscape pen tool via a comment I received. Click the pen, click and pull to create a curve (don't let go) while holding mouse, press shift at the same time to move the handle to a corner. (rather than shift+L or Shift+U.) Not exactly intuitive, but it is there.
I love your tutorials which are easy to understand.
Thanks so much! I'm happy to hear they're easy to follow :)
Thank You for this. I'm new to Inkscape and have zero idea on graphic designing. This is very helpful!
