    Most owners tend to break the hairline spring due to handling. Otherwise it's quite easy to service the clock.

    I have that exact click and mine won't spin, where can I get books and part for it. I also have two others as well. Love them.

    Hi! What's the reason for the fast rotation? We have some family story that an old broken torsion clock started spinning fast some 3 times when a kid put a hand around it (not touching it). I don't believe in their ghost explanation. IMHO there was still some potential energy stored in another component than the broken spring and it might have been dirty so it moved more slowly or get stuck sometimes. IMHo the kid could have released the tension by stepping around the clock (making some vibrations). What is your opinion? Thanks.

      When a clock is fully would there's a lot of energy stored in the mainspring. Normally this energy is released very slowly by a part called the escapement which is regulated by the swinging (or turning) action of the pendulum. In this video the pendulum has become detached allowing uncontrolled rapid unwinding of the mainspring. If a torsion clock is not correctly adjusted the escapement can start to flutter out of control allowing rapid unwinding of the mainspring and rotating of the hands even with a pendulum attached. Due to the very sensitive nature of the torsion clock it is highly likely that a small vibration could easily trigger a badly adjusted clock to go into a rapid flutter with the hands spinning out of control.       Hi, my daughter detunred the bell on our anniversary clock and when I tried to repair the bell the pendulum fell out and hit a marble floor. When we received the clock back they had cracked the bell and inserted solder which dripped onto the springs and solidified. Is the clock worth replacement or should we try another repair agency?

    The same problem happened to me but I broke the face off and now I can’t put it back on it’s a plastic one with the battery operated but the things when I was pulling the same back and broke the plastic up with those little what does little tubes but now I don’t think I can fix it but it works as a little desk clock
