Learn to print on an Adana Letterpress printer. This short video was produced to promote a one-day workshop I am running at Print To The People in Norwich
As a time served letterpress printer I had one of these machines and found it impossible to get a clear print because the rollers it seems were designed to 'skid 'across the type . The reason was that the bearers (the solid wheels at the ends of the rollers) were a larger diameter than the rubber part. The runners on which these bearers ran were less than type height to enable a larger sheet of paper to be printed without being marked by the runners. A totally hopeless design.
this is lovely! its so nice to see a proper print pull from a printing press rather than a tutorial where their print is usually a bit sketchy
Beautifully done. Please do more content. 👍😀
Is it possible to get a deep impression with the smaller sizes of Adana presses?
Why on earth is the disk taken off to put the chase in? At the right angle the bottom of the chase misses the rollers.
