- This is the first time I'm using this printing press so this was a great learning experience for figuring out how much ink to use and how much pressure to apply.
I bought this old printing press a couple of months ago. They were ones were produced from around 1870 to 1932.
I then also bought a printing block from the US which I think is probably from around the same time period.
Thanks for watching!

I remember when I used it, we used to put only a nut size of ink on the round plate on the side. As it spins, we don't have to worry, it will be spread evenly.
Yep ! Do not add paper thickness otherwise the application of the ink will be bad.
It is better to use the adjusting screws on the back of the tray, it allows to change its position and therefore the pressure exerted on the printing plate ^^
Good job and video !
Think so too! thanks mate!
When I saw this on Instagram I couldn't wait for the video to drop :-)
Youre bringing knowledge to the people. Youre a real pragmatic dude, good job on (mostly) fixing the print! Rock on, mate
Amazing! Love the video, thank you for sharing!
This is very cool, dude. I’d happily watch more videos like this
GREAT JOB YOU DID ON THAT PRESS. TE FELICITO.
Nice vintage printing machine! And even a nicer tattoo, mate!
Wow! Two minutes in and over 50 people have started watching already.
This one looks super cool!
Thank you!
Very cool. Thanks
Trippy man. Neat tool.
Thank you!
So cool, You gonna be a master soon I guess.
That’s interresting!!
Great video, as usual. Loved it. As an idea, perhaps try making your own printing stamp thing? You probably already have a plan for things to do.
I will. Just wanted to test with an actual magnesium plate first. Thank you!
Very cool
It's possible for the words like "seemingly" to be "higher" than the other words on the US block. I would reckon that that was how you would bolden words since the harder you press would affect the status of the words. "Seemingly" may needed to be emphasized and so they either made the word just a bit bigger or elevated the material under it.
I love your videos
Thank you!
I'm no expert on printing presses and being a year out I'm sure you've solved it but try adjusting the but and spring on the back I think it's an adjustment to make up for wear. Just assuming but if not the rubber sheet idea sounded next best
the inking-rolls mechanism is pretty interesting
You need quoins to lock the plate (block) in the chase. You need several packing sheets on the platen. Have a look on UA-cam to find out how it should be done. Nice old press. Don't need oil on the roller runners. Metal to metal is how it should be.
Cool
Less oily ink, and a bit of pressure in the paper hold plate.
Finally he speaks
It blows my mind whenever you speak. If you come to the US no one would ever know you didn't grow up there.
Where did you find the press?
Have you given the plate a thorough cleaning, perhaps with acetone? Some details might be filled up with old ink if the plate has been used a lot.
On like a danish craigslist sorta thing. Acetone melts rubber. Bought mineral spirits which commonly used! Thanks mate!
If you starting printing, my first intention wars: Add a thicker paper. Curse we dont have 80gramms Printer paper in the past.
But you do a nice demonstration of the Old-Modern-Technic.
Thanks for entertain me.
Yeah I'm gonna be printing on thicker, nicer paper in the future once I get more confident! Thank you!
Dude, i think your problem is the paper itself and not the layers of paper.. the news paper paper is way thinner than normal paper or that bio paper.
That's quite cool. Do you know how old this specific one is. There should be a serial code or something of that sort on it
Yes there is! I haven't checked up on it though. I will do more printing videos and give more info on it. Thanks!
@@MakeNCreate you're welcome
Try packing the back of the type block instead. Also, if one area is printing faintly, tear a small piece of paper and put it behind that area.
I have a same printing machine how much do you think
*Seemingly*

Noided!
great tatoo
thanks
Enough ink to print a whole newspaper! a sheet of rubber is a bad idea, the roller bearers at either side of the type bed would have had leather straps covering them if the stocks (things that go on the end of the rollers) are metal, you wouldn't run metal to metal, also strips of varying thickness of card go under the leather straps so the rollers are at type height from the type bed.
@Make N' Create can you please put the video on the cabinet from the amp back up? I was part way through watching and then " This video has been taken down by the user." Argh! So annoying!
Nope sorry.
