Brilliant Work ! I really do think Hyprland is the future, especially with a few apps to make config easier for less technical users. Of course we need a major distro or 2 to add a hyprland flavour, but I am sure that will come this year.
@@mylinuxforworkI'm using arch Linux with kde plasma x11 and Wayland sessions both of them, can I add and install hyprland without breaking my system ? I want to use your dot file 2.7.1

Nice I've been watching this manager and other one called pyrprland Great video! I didn't think about adding additional buttons to the title bar! Inspired. Hmm.... are you going to add this to your config?
Hi! Good video! One question. I’m using your config but I just can’t seem to get screen sharing to work (discord) I’ve tried everything on the hyprland wiki and still just showing a black screen :( if you could help me I’d appreciate it!
I'm not sure if I'm hundred percent correct but the wiki says that apps like discord which run on xwayland will only be able to share other xwayland windows and there's no fix as of yet. Have you tried testing it using obs or something to see if screen sharing works outside of discord?
@@mylinuxforwork I already did it, i used another hyprland experiment and configured with your dotfiles. So far it's working well. Your repository is excellent. Thank you

Hi. Not sure if this would make sense because you cannot minimize a window somewhere. You could move windows to the last workspace or reduce the height?
Can you do a short video on installing the plugins? I get mismatched headers and running hyprpm update does not resolve it It says you dont appear to be running hyprland I run the add command and it works but no plugins are listed
@@mylinuxforwork I did Not having a lot of success I am going to try it with NIXOS that seems better supported as the builds and headers will always match
Hi. You can use nwg-look. If you’re using already 2.8 RC1 of my dotfiles, you can start it in the welcome app or via app launcher. The window style can be changed in the hyprland.conf or the dotfiles settings script.

I do like Hyprland, but I do think it's got a long way to go before it's not more work to use than it saves. Phenomenal tinker toy, but not a real productivity enhancer lol

@@no-prophet nah, I like hyprland, and use it. But, it’s 3 days of fiddling to get it fiddled into a fully functioning setup, and even then, as you learn more and more, it’s more fiddling. It tends to promote tinkering because the configuration it’s shipped with is bare minimum (which is fine btw, it’s one of the appealing aspects, you can do about anything you want with it). That does mean that it’s a lot of tinkering and fiddling before it because a truly productive setup, where as with more traditional approaches, you’ve got sane defaults automatically (and the restrictions on customization that come with that). As an example, default configuration won’t even let you launch a terminal or an app launcher, unless you’ve installed the specific ones in the config files.

@faizanahmad5464 is propably right. Tha could be the limitation.
Everything was working fine at the end. It’s just discord sucking in Wayland. The fix was just start using webcord or the browser.
Love your videos. Now I'm thinking to switch Hyprland but I'm using Opensuse Tumbleweed, is your project compatible with it?
Hi. Thanks for your feedback. It's not yet compatible with Tumbleweed. But I will start soon a project to support more platforms.
But you can start some personal Hyprland experiments and use some of my dotfiles.

So I could convert Hyprland in a floating WM by adding the title bars and set all windows to float? Finally usable on 28" 4K screens, too! 😊
Give it a try.
